A great trail (specially in spring) for people of all levels. The course is easy and relatively flat making it a great family friendly walk. There are several great spots along the walk, including the small shrine, tall trees and a natural drinking water fountain. At the half point you will hit Yumemidaira which is a stunning marshland area with Mt Mitahara in the background.
One of the most stunning mountains in all of Japan. The climb itself isn't too challenging. The last climb to the peak up the steps can take it out of you but up to there it is actually pretty leisurely. Koya Pond is absolutely beautiful and in the peak of autumn is just breathtaking! you can do this climb in one day if you wish. You should start early to make sure you get back in time. If you want to enjoy the scenery a bit more you can camp at Koya Pond area or stay in the mountain hut. You will need to book the hut in advance if you wish to stay there.
