All great views! Maybe not the smartest itinerary, but still overall great!

One of my favorites! Short and sweet if you don’t have much time but want a good workout with amazing views fast. You must climb up a portion of the trail. It’s easier than it looks. Going down is a bit harder. Just go back down on your rear end and it’s much easier. Wear shoes with excellent traction and be prepared to get your hands dirty climbing up! It can get crowded so go early.

There are a few options. If you’re not a climber, or are afraid of heights, you can stay on the first level and hike around the base. It’s very pretty and a nice hike in and of itself.

Worth the work! Be sure to spend time up at the top!!!

I wouldn’t recommend it for people not in good shape and comfortable climbing. And please leave you 1 year old and your dog at home. Not appropriate for canines and babies.

Top ten hike!

Breathtaking. Fun for the entire family.

One of my favorites around here! The views are spectacular and it has a fair amount of elevation in a short distance but if you take your time, it’s worth the climb. Take a nice lunch and relax at the summit. Sabino Canyon in general never disappoints.

Got there at 10am on a Saturday. The slot canyon was pretty clear but I can see how going later would be a pain when there's traffic in the narrows. Gorgeous hike, the rocks are amazing.

A bit steep for us- but even 3/4 if the way up is quite a view. I’d choose Templeton over this just because the scramble is too treacherous for me!

Get there very early to avoid bottle necks in the narrow canyons. But otherwise the hike is phenomenal. The view from the top is beautiful and the narrow canyons were stunning.

My favorite hike in Sedona!! Well marked trail. Breathtaking views when you arrive at the top. Can be challenging for some in a few spots.

Very beautiful trail with lots of interesting geology. Challenging for us amateurs, but not too much. Go early to avoid crowds.

We have hiked this twice. This trip reminded us this is a tough hike. Don't be deceived by the short distance. The middle portion is all steep rocky switchbacks up the front of the mountain… up about 800’ in ¾ mile. Very challenging. My Garmin showed hike at 6.1 miles starting at visitor center, with about 1800' elevation gain. Hot and no shade. I would not do this in the afternoon. Bring plenty of water. Not a busy hike so may have nice 360 views at the top all to yourself! As others have said ... don't stop until you get to the end of trail sign.

Easy trail to navigate. Some inclined to get your heart beating but not too bad at all. This place is great for views! Beautiful area and the trail was pretty quiet. A lot of areas are closed off but those are mostly secondary trails so it doesn’t ruin the hike.

Awesome

Gorgeous views! Go early, as it gets crowded, but oh, so worth it! The tall walls or slots give shade too, so you don’t melt. High stepping towards the end make this a more challenging hike, but also interesting. Highly recommend!

Great hike and weather. Tough going up as it’s all uphill.

The only reason I would rate this as moderate would be because it’s long and the hike up to cathedral. The loop is all flat with lots of mountain bikers but super pretty. Bring water not too much shade!

Love this trail! If you want to spend the night somewhere before you hike then stay in Santa Fe or possibly North Albuquerque. Don’t bring a pet and bring $5 cash. They don’t take credit cards.

It’s a great quick hike but still a little strenuous. We went at 10:00 on a Saturday and we were done by 12:00. It was not very crowded at 10 but on our way back down it was pretty crowded. I would agree with the other comments.. go as early as you can!

Unbelievable at sunset- we were up there with only three others and were treat to an incredible experience. Windy at the top!

Great trail for a windy day! Enough tree cover to block the wind, but great unobstructed outlooks. Took about 5.5 hours top to bottom.

Favorite trail to date.

Hiked this yesterday. Started at 1030 and finished at 1345 (but hung out for 45 min. at the end of the trail in solitude--nobody else there)! Views are spectacular and make this strenuous climb well worth it. I usually hike with my 4 yr old, but this trail is not for her. Spotted one snake, one giant hawk, lizards and squirrels. Pretty cool when a helicopter comes down Bear canyon and then back up Sabino Canyon-- and it's well below you! I will do this trail again. Hot (yesterday was in the 90s) so bring lots of water. A must do.

Great short hike with moderate to difficult vertical climb mid way up to the summit. Spectacular views. One of my favorite hikes.

if you go up from fat man's loop to sunset, there is a little snow patch for about a tenth of a mile if you continue it does get better

Awesome quick trail with lots of fun climbing

Love this hike! After the first mile it’s nice to get into the trees and shade. Good views of the mountains. Nice little grove of Ponderosa pines about 2.5 miles up. Good spot to sit and have a snack.

Fun hike for the family with a great view. Our 6 year old said this was her favorite hike of our trip to Sedona.
