Beautiful caves, great trails.

This park is beautiful. I will definitely be visiting again! Lots of caves to explore and it’s very well kept. Bring a head lamp if you’re going into the caves !

Love the view. Going back there for sure. Pretty easy loop trail even toddlers can do it ;)

It’s a great hike and easy for most the hike. However, the Badger trail , which you have to jump onto at some point, is rated a moderate trail by Hitchcock so if you’re looking for 100% easy, you won’t find it here. There are some good, ass-kicking hills but it’s still a lovely homie overall.

Beautiful views! There are many trails to choose from while your there , grab a map and start exploring the Loess Hills

A really peaceful hike. Must see if you’re in the Omaha area.

Great trail

challenging and scenic. always a strenuous workout for me.

West Lake Trail is one of my favorites in this part of Iowa. Very scenic hike along the low bluff under a canopy of maples and oaks.

Very scenic trail. Crushed limestone makes the trail easy on the body. Must-do for bikers is the Taco Ride on Thursday nights.

My second-favorite place to hike in the Metro. I've been hiking the trails in here for a decade and there are so many options (different trails, different difficulty levels) that it can feel like you're somewhere different each time. My favorite hike to take Fox Ridge Run all the way to where it ends at a beautiful overlook, then go back, cut across the parking lot and catch Badger Ridge. I then cut down Hidden Valley and take Angel's Dead End back up to Fox Ridge Run. It's a nice little workout. $2.00 entrance fee or $10.00 yearly. $10 will get you a tent site as well!

Best trail I’ve done in the Omaha and beyond area so far

nice ride

A wonderful trail. Glad to have the All Trails map, because of multiple off-shoot trails. Very serene.

Some very steep areas that are great for training and conditioning for long hikes in the mountains. Beautiful autumn colors are already here.

The drive from Iowa City was quick and easy to find! The trails were just enough of a challenge to feel active but enjoy a relaxed time in nature as well! Signs letting you know where trail heads were from the road would be helpful but all in all it was even better than we expected! We will be back!

Great trail, very minor technical areas. There was a large tree down on the north side and I came across a wasp or something that stung me in the chest. Otherwise it was very open and very well maintained. I typically run 7-10 miles of trails every weekend. I did 6 miles and I feel like I could run this often if I didn't live out of state. No mosquitoes, but I was moving at a decent pace.

It’s open for 2018!!! New trails, steps, lights, bridges and boardwalks. Soooooo nice! Breathe in nature and bring a friend. Very family friendly!

very steep and washed out on the one side. we took the easy way in and doubled back to avoid the washed out part.

One of the best spots right outside the QC! We come here a few times a year!

Great hike. Gorgeous and nice elevation challenge. I threw in the exercise stations to up the difficulty . Nice touch

Great hiking for Omaha area. Only place around that will actually challenge you a bit, but you have options. You can make it a easy hike and stay flat or add on loops and make it challenging. There are also great primitive camp sites 1-3 miles into the trail. They have table, fire pit and 2 man tent spot. Must reserve.

Heard gunshots in the distance even though it’s a conservation area. Be careful.. Nice and short- some abrupt steep hills.

This is an amazing trail but the “easy” tag is false. This is moderate at the very least. Lots of large rocks and tree roots all over the path. You NEED good hike boots or sneaks with lots of tread. Good elevation change too. Watch your footing!!! Enjoy!

We always love doing this trail! the hills can be a bit of a challenge. I always need bug spray here. mostly for knats.

Beautiful trail, just don’t forget the bug spray!

Lots of frequent elevation change (600 ft is a net change), very poorly marked trail with markers only at trailhead or when it crossed a campground. There were no trail markers or distance markers, lots of lose rock and frequent forks to lose you way and your footing. On the plus side, some fantastic views and scenery along the way, just watch the transition from West Lake trail to East Lake trail. You have to find it yourself.
