my s.o. took me here for my birthday last year. great views and we had fun. now chain o lakes will always hold a special place in my heart.

love the dunes would love to visit again

I am a Michigan resident and a veteran. I was told today at the end of July that I would have to buy a $16 season pass to walk a 3.9 mile trail once. Sorry but I think that’s a bit ridiculous

4 stars for the hike. Moderate maybe pushing it a bit. Nice marked trails with some elevated climbs. Views of Lake Michigan are fabulous. Warren dunes state park is absolutely a must with the beach and dunes! Great place to spend an entire day.

beautiful park. watch north side right now... trails turn into dead end into swamp. bug spray is necessary. you can adjust and take upper dune or lower dune trails instead

The trail was wide and maintained very well. Don’t expect great views of the lake, the vegetation makes it hard to see between the trail and the water most of the time. The terrain is generally pretty flat and a great hike, however!

Trails maintained nicely, nothing difficult about trails, great for distance running-walking.

A wonderful trail with one huge 90 degree sand dune well that how it felt anyway!

A wonderful workout with one giant sand dune with an 90 degree angle or at least it feels that way.

I really liked this trail! Lots of wildlife and black raspberries bushes along the North side of the lake.

If you actually want to do the loop around the lake, stick with the smaller trail that hugs the shoreline. Parts of it are a little overgrown and the last bit before you hit the road was really muddy. You have to walk along the road for just a bit but then you can cut back in to the trails.

Beautiful views of Lake Michigan on trail along water-trails were well marked except #1 and 3 at parking lot going into Dunes-lots of criss cross trails so confusing Saw deer and heron on river thru woods. Will be back!

Awesome park ! Wonderful nature but only downfall is the bugs are out terribly! Make sure you bring bug spray!

This was a pleasant hike through many old trees. I saw a fox., a couple of cool woodpeckers, raccoons, birds, and a bunny. This was pure trees and trails. Some of the paths repeat so it’s really more of a 2.5 mile hike if you don’t go in circles a bunch. This was a quiet nice location.

Great hike, be prepared for your shoes to get a little sand in them. Beautiful views of the lake and good for kids and dogs. Hiked it with our best friends who got engaged during the hike.

Great hike, kind of short. Parking is incredibly limited so get there early! We loved wading in the creek when the water wasn’t too deep!

Stroller friendly. Bathrooms available. Kid friendly. Great walk.

Boot Lake nature preserve is a work in progress. It used to be an area where the city dumped “sludge”. It is a peaty muck flat and there are some endangered flora and I saw a Sandhill Crane which are also an endangered species and rare to this area. The walk was flat and well cleared. Most of it was a wooded path with some of the trail near some homes and a grassy prairie area. The AllTrails map is not quite accurate. The view at the lake was gorgeous and a great spot to take photos. There is no entrance fee. There were a couple of nice ladies with a toddler in a stroller I spoke with along the path but otherwise it was pretty quiet until around noon when there was more traffic. No public restrooms and only about 6 parking spots. A nice length trail for a quick hike.

my first time here and I loved it.

You won’t be disappointed plenty a sightseeing and plenty of exercise

Beautiful place for a hike! There’s the main trial around the lake and many other small trails off of that if you want to explore a bit more. Will definitely go back.

A great area in Kalamazoo to go stretch your legs and soak up nature. Visit the lake or meander through the woods. We used to live across the street and walk this daily. Our dog loved it! Off the main trail of you stick to the north side of the lake there is another small beach that not as many people stop at. Perfect for letting your dog enjoy the water.

Chain O’Lakes is one of my favorite state parks in Indiana. Love the elevation changes, the gorgeous sunsets, the birds and the beavers! The dogs and I come here as often as we can.

This is actually 11 trails and a Indiana 50/100mile trail instead of one big loop. Most loops are under a mile but trail 6, 10 & 11 are 2-4miles. There is also the yellow Indiana 50/100 trail which is not on the park’s map.

Most of the trails are packed mud, sand or gravel though sometimes you come across water logged mud patches or areas of leaf and gravel litter. What is nice is that horses are not allowed here so the trails are not destroyed or covered in manure! Lol

Amazing trails with great views. Spent a lot of good times in those woods.

I love this place. Dunes as far as you can see high above the water and trees. Lots of good hiking.

It was a decent hike. Flat. Gave the dog and me some exercise. at least. The trail markings were horrible.

No trail markings. Muddy at times. Fairly busy.

This is a pretty legit trail. Lots of really nice people, beautiful scenery and trash cans places every so often. A ton of litter up near the Winchell Way apartments and the trails were poorly marked. Sorta hard to follow but luckily I had this app. I will probably return.
