We did a short part of trail. Was beautiful even though we got a little lost and it rained! Wear sturdy shoes and note that areas can be wet.

Hiked after the rains. Agree that it was pretty muddy but watch for bees depending on the season. There were many small yellow jackets on the trail. Several of us were stung about 10 times in the vicinity of a nest in the ground. The next was barely visible and bees were. hard to tell they were bees. So just watch for these in late July and August. Trail was rocky but not difficult.

what a surprisingly great hike. trails are well marked, scenery is amazing, nice climbs to get your heart rate up. definitely buggy, but nothing bug spray won't cure. I got just over 3 miles in and you can add more distance by utilizing the Brandywine Creek trail. I'm definitely coming back to this spot

Great trail with a few areas of steeper incline to get the heart really pumping. I did the entire trail, however, I would avoid the southern parts of the trail for the next few weeks until the bugs and flooding die down if you don’t want to deal with gnats and mud. The southern portion was super muddy, I was covered from the knees down by the time I finished. I was also followed by a swarm of bugs and mosquitoes the whole time, and walked through about 7 spider webs on the southern portion. Otherwise, the Boone trail is a really enjoyable, peaceful hike!

Had to bail on the full loop halfway through because there were so many mosquitos! So don’t forget the bug spray. Looked like a nice little park though with lots of trail options, and I’ll be going back when it isn’t bug season!

I took a 4 y/o and a 2 y/o (in a hiking carrier) and we had a great time. We stuck to the green trail mostly but took some detours. There is a rather large network of trails in this small area. All are well marked and well maintained, though some seem better for mountain biking than hiking. That said a four year old and an out of shape adult with a 40 lb pack did just fine.

if you are going to park at the Skelp Level Rd. parking lot be aware that it is not really marked from the road. It looks like an unpaved private driveway going into the woods. The only thing you'll see from the road is a 4x4 post with the street address. once you are at the lot snap a picture of the trail map and head out. Every trail intersection is marked with a numbered post with colored blazes indicating the direction of each trail.

I had a great walk with my Standard Poodle. We enjoyed the butterflies, the coolness of the canopy and stream, great pictures, the short conversations with other hikers, and time for us both to get wet in the water. Moderately busy trail until about 3pm on Sunday.(in the summer). Yes, people let their dogs off leash. Most dogs and owners respectful.I had to get sticks to protect my dog at one point. Nothing serious, though, unless you have a reactive dog. I also ran into horses. I will be back with friends!!!

Approximately 2 miles to the river and back via the cabin road. Very little foot traffic. Nice and quiet along the creek to the Susquehanna. Would also be a good run. Trail to the right of the gate on the other side of the creek looks a little overgrown and steep initial climb. Look for the footbridge.

Great trail, my family enjoyed it!

Hiked this after a storm last night. Wet & muddy, but that's why boots are made. Very nice hike, but the trails are poorly marked. Some signage would be great - Glad I had the All trails app). The bakery in St Peter's village is sweet (pun intended!).

Nice trail, mostly shaded! Will be back to explore a few of the other trails. I wish people would clean up after their dogs!

It's not the hidden gem that it used to be but it's still a great place to hike. Most people stick to the lower area but if you're adventurous you can head up top and find an old quarry in the middle of the woods with a pretty cool overlook.

Would rate as an easy trail. Trail is narrow at times and mostly flat. Did not see anyone else on the trail.

Beautiful easy trail to walk. We took the 6 mile walk today.

Quite enjoyable for a novice

Made it from the Pretzel Hut to Eagles Rock. Nice hike. Saw wildlife along the way.

trail is more of a game trail than hiking. The trail isn't marked and we didn't follow the overlay (I have no idea how we would of). I also didn't see any waterfalls or wildflowers. I don't need to go back!

What a gem! Loved the cross country feel of this run and the scenery is pristine!

best on cooler days as only small sections are tree covered.

Great hike! At one point a black bear crossed the path in front of us. That is the second time in a row we saw a bear at Boyd Big Tree.. not sure if that’s the norm, or if we’re just lucky :)

Beautiful trail, especially in the Fall. This trail was super easy to walk and dog friendly! Marking were a little hard to follow. Definitely recommend!

Entire lakeside trail takes just under 3 hours and is a great hike. Moderate through the Quaker day use area, the rest is pretty easy. Lovely views of the lake. Can get muddy after rain, so best to hit it after at least a few dry days! Pinchot also has great kayaking and horse trails. The horse trails weren’t super well kept at the beginning of the season, hoping they had a chance to tend to them since then.

Trail would be nice if it weren’t for all the graffiti and litter. A decent amount of people were around, and we were the only ones that actually leashes our dog. It’s a shame that others had to ruin the nature.

Not well marked out starting off. Followed blue and then yellow trail markers.
Lots of mud and washed out paths.
My dog loved it.
Cool graffiti and scenery.
Overall ok but maybe go when it hasn’t rained in awhile.
Take time to walk through the little town. Super cute and fun picture spots.

I love this place because of the cute little shops you can visit and the big rocks that you can hop across on the river. There’s an abandoned railroad bridge that is gated off from the world which is disappointing.

Not entirely sure why this is named "Darlington Trail" since the actually Darlington is on the west shore. Anyway, we do a similar route to this once a month, to monitor changes in vegetation, water, etc. Great trail and I love the overlook it provides. I will probably be uploading my route next time.

nice trail. would label it as easy not moderate.
