A paved mostly flat trail along the lake’s edge with plenty of wide space for walkers. Just a couple of very short inclines. Also features info stands about the history of the lake—good opportunities for learning about how it came to be.

Went in summer so it was 90° hot and the waterfalls were quite lacking in water. Still overall pretty interesting hike.

lots of shade on Mine Hill. my 10 & 8 yr old managed well and this is about their limit. there definitely is some incline. would do again.

Was there early September 2018 and there was no waterfall at the triple fall. It was all dried up. Overall, the hike was fairly easy.

This was a breathtaking hike. I loved seeing the animals and birds along the way. On my trail up the hill I saw a herd of sheep being moved through the mountain which is a rare sight to see because they all walk behind one another. There must have been 200 of so if them herding. I even saw a Mama and her baby. Beautiful sight and views are spectacular! After finishing the hike I ended up hiking 3.2 miles as I parked outside the gate. Before 8am.

A nice trail, there wasn’t a lot of people on the trail when we were there.

Not a bad hike but a lot of mountain bikers flying along pretty fast...won’t bother doing it again.

I never used to hike before after coming here I'm addicted! If you like nature up close and personal this is it.

This was a beautiful hike. I saw birds, pelicans, rabbits and deer on this trail. The gate opens at 8am for cars but you can park further away if you want to start earlier like I did. No lizards on trail and I was totally ok with that.. There were a few hikers early in the morning which surprised me. No dogs allowed, so leave your furry friend at home.

We went there with our dog. It was pretty difficult for us... first part of the trail without shade, so it was very hot, also was very noisy since you walk near the road. The second part was more shady (we also saw a snack). Next to the creek it’s really nice and there are some places where you can get closer and get inside the creek. Overall it was nice.

Is only 4 miles hike, but steep. Very nice. Will be back springtime when the falls are fuller.

What a beautiful trail!! What makes this trail special is the history about the trail which I’ll leave you in suspense so you’ve got to hike to see it. Great views. There is a herd of cows so just be on the lookout. I walked past 3 on the trail and lived to write this review so no biggie.

Nice wide trail but very little shade, i'm sure it would be fantastic to hike this in late fall, winter or spring. Summer is too hot and sunny, at least in my opinion :)

Good walk with Khaleesi.

Not crowded at all, pretty good views, no shade at all, pretty easy hike with mild elevation.

Really rocky and bushes are really long and wild. True nature if you are looking for that. No views.

Firstly, you cannot bike around the lake as the trails away from the parking lot and swimming area are for hikers only. Secondly, there is no way this trail should be classified as easy with very steep grades as mentioned in the reviews and the 1000 foot plus elevation gain. The trail signage is less than adequate and often misleading or missing. Advanced bikers might find this trail more to their liking.

It was pretty nice. Have to watch out for bike riders and crazy, homeless people though. There was one crazy lady who I thought at first was yelling that she had cookies but then she was actually saying we were a bunch of robbers and thieves since we weren’t working. I found it amusing and called her a bum since she wasn’t working and smelled like piss and she just kept repeating the same thing. There are some stretches that are shaded, but a lot of it is in the sun. The ending of the trail in Concord is in a ghetto area with a bunch of bums walking around so you might want to stop short of Hillcrest Community Park. All in all, it’s a great hike.

Great hike. You do hear the highway, but it's not bad, I wouldn't let that deter you. cool views and there are multiple trails connected of you want to go further.

The waterfall trail is absolutely gorgeous.

Multiple waterfalls, lots of shade, dog-friendly, easy loop, not crowded: what's not to like? No permit was required for hiking as this was after 6/30.

This “trail” is practically in our backyard, and we use it frequently. I wouldn’t call it a trail though. It is paved and great for our young children to ride their bikes without worrying about busy city streets. We see lots of wildlife, and the scenery varies, depending on where you go.

Well I’m a newbie to hiking-this was not easy for me, but I’ve done it three times and am getting faster-lots if uphill but a great hike

Nice and easy early morning time with a little bit of history to learn on the trail.

Not trail running per se, but I would run the entire length of LGCT to it’s termination at Meridian Ave in San Jose, a round trip of 18 miles, as part of a marathon training. It was perfect.

Nice bike trail ! Didn’t feel the heat even on a 100plus day .

Nice views and many different bird species to admire. Also nice creek you can walk along

a gorgeous hike that is easy enough for little kids.

Once you get past the first “big climb” the rest is pretty easy. Great views of Lexington and if you make it to the Hilltop Vista - a great view of Santa Clara County. Clean trails, friendly people.
