Low traffic, great views, waterfall is impressive. Pit toilet in the parking lot. Good view of castle mountain. Would do again.

This was a great hike that my family and I took while staying in Canmore. We took the harder trail up and the easier trail down. It started raining about 15 minutes after we started, but it was still beautiful and worth the hike to the top. Glad we took the harder trail first in the rain as the steps to the top were easier to climb up when slippery.

Such a beautiful, easy hike. Went up to the (hopefully abandoned??) bear cave past the waterfall. Crowds completely die after that point, very peaceful.

on Heart Creek Trail

Did this with my 3 and 5 year old, who are taller than most. They loved it- it was just challenging enough for them to make it feel like an “adventure.” A beautiful hike for all ages. There’s an extra bit of the trail at the end that leads up to the top of the cliff. This was too much for the kids but easy for adults. Worth the view!

Beautiful day. Not very busy to goto ink pots and back through the canyon. Then about a 1.5km walk along the road back to the parking lot. If you don’t want to deal with the traffic of people I recommend going this back way to see the falls after the ink pots.

Guys, it is an awesome trail but some scramble at the end with loose rocks. Coming down the same way, a little tough from the peak for the first 15-20 mins or so. I did the hike in 2 hours and 10 mins up and down, but then I was alone so just kept climbing and literally ran down. Amazing views from the top. Gives a satisfaction of reaching a summit.

Nice and easy hike

Leg burner with amazing views. At the very top it’s a bit of a scramble on loose rock. Noticed all levels of hikers on the trail. For people that don’t hike much, it’s a challenging but rewarding trail. I’ll do it again once my legs have forgotten ;)

Trip on Jul. 14. A perfect day for hiking.

mama black bear with cubs on the trail. Unable to complete as she kept coming back and wouldnt get off the trail.

Highly recommended hike, leg burning hike for sure, hard on the lungs going up, hard on the legs/knees going down, very steep all the way up, but worth the view at the top, please make sure you have enough water to last you a total of 4 hours, i find that going down was much easier for me so only took us 1.5 hours going down compare to going up took us 2.5...this is a difficult hike for a beginner like me, make sure you are with someone who will push you all the way...wear hiking shoes and use trekking poles, it’s a big help....and oh yeah bring snacks:) will give you energy going down...hope you will have fun just like me who almost gave up after 30 minutes, but nonetheless #IMADEIT so #WORTHIT, oh and go there early so it’s not busy, we went up around 9:30 am less busy but when we came down around 12:30 lots of people are going up....you have to wait for people to pass through as the trail is very steep....

This is an awesome hike. Lots to see, a challenge to get though the gorge but fun. Your going to get wet so bring dry shoes!

Amazing hiking. Recommended

It was green good elevation but green

Great hiking trail for families and dogs!! Beautiful spot!

I did this hike Sunday and loved it. I suggest starting early morning because it's less busy and it can be quite cumbersome trying to pass people on the trail. Be prepared to work because it does not level off. Poles are handy. despite how warm it was at the parking lot and the majority of the trail, bring a jacket the wind at the summit is cold. Small scramble at the top. you can also get to Miners Peak from here (I was too tired).
Views are amazing.

Awesome hike, very worth the views.

Some nice views along the way up, once the canyon opens up the path isn't marked the greatest but it leaves a lot of room for exploring. I would recommend this as a nice afternoon outing and would do it again.

Difficult fit my very experienced hikers. Steep but good. You will actually get to a peak.

Great family hike, our 4 year old had no trouble making it to the top and back down under his own power. I carried our 3month old in an infant carrier. Great place to have a picnic lunch beautiful views.

Nice easy walk took the easy route with the kids.

I just did it this morning. Followed other people’s suggestion, I went the hard way up and the easy way down. It was not a long or hard hike, but there was a lot to see. Lake, fall, water, rock climbing!! When you reach the top, the view is fantastic! There is little fish in the lake too

Amazing hike with lots of significant spots and lookout points. Going down the hard way the paths were hard to navigate and found are selves in the middle of the woods.

9 and 7 yo were overjoyed with the water features and scrambling available at their level. I carried a 3yo until the first waterfall, and she was able to get up to the notch on her own... then back on the back for the way down.

AMAZING views at the peak. I recommend going all the way to the tip-top instead of stoping right before it. The extra 10 minutes is worth it.
It is incline the whole way up, and decline the whole way done. Which means: hard on the lungs on the way up, hard on the legs/knees on the way down.
Definitely challenging but if you are up for a good workout, it is definitely worth it.
Took us about 4 hours (2 and 1/2 hours up, 1 hour down) with 30 minutes at the top for lunch.
Seriously though.... the view and peak is incredible!

Incredible hike, it has everything from peak-a-boo views of Moraine Lake through the forest, beautiful 360 views of 10-peaks range in Larch Valley and breathtaking mountain views at the top, snow melt lakes and streams - it has it all. The switchbacks up to Larch Valley are a killer but keep going past the tree line and the views are well worth it - even if you don’t make it up to the top of the pass the meadow is incredible . The final switchbacks up to Sentinel Pass weren’t too bad although it is quite steep along the side and may prove a good challenge if heights make you nervous. Trail was very well maintained though and as long as you have good hiking shoes and take your time you will have no problems. Favorite hike in Banff thus far and spending a day near Moraine Lake is a must do!

Easy hike that’s mostly flat. I’d say once you hit the bridge that’s mostly it. Better hikes to do in Banff.

Amazing experience from start to finish! So worth the view to make your way up the scree and battle that wind! I will do this one again.

Amazing views! Take the easy way up and the more difficult way down! Totally worth it
