Great hike, beautiful falls. Well marked

The waterfall can be found by heading north and west, up the Middle fork of Corral Creek. The trail is less maintained than the others and very muddy in the wet months, but very beautiful once you get into the cedar grove.

This was a nice hike through the woods along the river. There was just a dusting of snow in certain spots.

The hike is moderate and very busy. Expect lots of people on trail during the summer months. Scenery is pretty, with a stream going through parts of it, and the witch's house is along the way. Pittock mansion and the view from its garden is beautiful. Definitely worth seeing.

This was a very beautiful hike! Easy to do but requires shoes with good traction. There is a section after the bridge that allows you to go down by the water but we were unable to venture down due to slippery conditions. Highly recommend this hike in summer/fall!!

Too many people to enjoy anything. Few had any trail etiquette or adequate shoes for the conditions. This made the hike unsafe, with folks blocking the trail or slipping and sliding into us. We couldn't get off the trail fast enough.

Decent nature walk

would be great for running! pretty mellow for a hike.

This one is fun. Suspension bridges and ladders make it especially unique. Great views of waterfalls and cascades. I did the entire trail and as other reviews have said just be careful and know that you probably shouldn’t bring pets/children. At the split near the beginning of the trail I veered right and went over the bridge. I think this is the better route because you get great views of the falls on the way back up.
Here's a video of my experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF5ragxSIw8&t=4s

***After the 30 foot ladder but before the next bridge there is another smaller ladder that is somewhat hard to find. It leads to a short out/back trail on a ridge that pays off with extraordinary views.

Travelers note:
Forest pass: YES
Parking fee: $5 without forest pass
Travel time from Portland: about 2 hours
Driving conditions: road to the trailhead has a fair amount of potholes and such. Drive is possible in a car but probably better to have a vehicle with clearance.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Just a heads up. It's hunting season. Worth the $5 to buy an orange hunting vest so you don't get shot. Ran into a couple hunters who informed me of hunting season and let me borrow a vest. Better safe than sorry. Suspension bridge was awesome.

Hiked on Nov 8. Bathrooms at TH, no parking fee, parked on Thurman and walked down stairs next to the bridge. First section of the trail is beautiful, serene, canopied forest that wanders next to Baluch Creek. Continue straight at Stone House...trail has a few turns where it’s best to check your navigation because it is not well-marked up to Pittock Mansion. After you cross CORNELL Rd, you will hear traffic the rest of the way. Slight ascend, dense forest, and beautiful scenic views of P-town are your reward.

An amazing all around hike! Small walk right up to the base of the falls, or a small moderate 2.0 mile loop if you’re interested in hiking the whole trail. On the trail you’ll see a second waterfall and some other beautiful sights! Hiked it on 11/7/2018, and the fall colors were really popping. Loved every bit of it!

Steep but up and down. Beautiful foliage.

Great hike! We didn’t intend to do this one, but we were finished hiking Ape Caves and realized this was so close. The first two sections are pretty great...rather short...so totally doable. Parts were a little scary since it was so wet out. The bridge was quite frightening for someone who is afraid of heights. More than adequate amount of signage. I would recommend this hike when it is dry out. Gorgeous views. Did not attempt to hike the most difficult part, I read in forums that it’s quite dangerous when wet.

Didn't do the entire trail because we were on a time schedule but the waterfall is gorgeous. Highly suggest.

Perfect hike, not hard just enough and getting to the waterfall was a great experience.

A great little loop only a half mile from my house. I will be doing this trail alot in my future.

Not difficult, but if you want to get better pictures you’ll do a little navigating on slippery rocks. Even then, it’s not bad. Views are spectacular, of course.

So beautiful!

Harder side of easy. It’s 80% hills, though none are too steep or too far up or too far down. If you’re looking for a ‘flat’ kind of easy, (I was thinking for my mom with arthritis) this ain’t it. The trail is really well maintained, no dangerous areas. The trailhead sign is hard to see but easier to see coming from the south (campground).

As others have said there isn't a waterfall along the trail. Otherwise it's a pretty standard walk especially with a toddler in tow

I love coming here. The views change with the weather, and many different types of areas. No dogs, no bikes.

Great hike. There’s a bit of an incline at certain points but otherwise it’s manageable. At the top is an old mansion with some great views of the City.

I e only ever done the very short part of this hike where we loop back after the suspension bridge but this time we decided to go right and continue on. I looked at the map and I saw where we could stay in the Lava Canyon trail by keeping left at the bridge. Once we hit SCOTT trail we took a little break over looking the river. We decided to go down SCOTT trail u til it met up with the upper part of Lava Canyon trail. It is t marked but you can see the trail to the left. Also I knew it was only .3 of a mile. They really should put signage there. The upper trail is all up! Looks like an old Forrest access road overgrown. But we had to take a couple short breaks to rest. It’s over 3 miles up. I believe we climbed about 1204 feet. I could definitely say no dogs past the suspension bridge and this is definitely rated HARD in my book. Scary at times. I am glad I did it.

Great trail for all ages. The views are spectacular!

We had a great time hiking this trail. We did the short loop since we were pushing a double stroller. Dog and kid friendly, but lots of bugs.

Nice hike but there is no waterfall!

It’s a good day hike. A good hike to do with friends as an alternative to a coffee date to catch up on life. It took me a couple hours to do and it’s nice because there are bathrooms at the top

Have been going here since the 60s.
wasn't so crowded then.
funny they named the old bathrooms the Witches Castle.
Still, love this trail when not crowded.
