Beautiful trail, enjoyed the first half from Lower Overlook Park, the Dam, etc. The second half was VERY poorly marked, so much so that my friend, 4 year old son & I ended up walking on a busy 2 lane road with no sidewalk to get back to my car. Annoying!

Love this trail. It's cool along the river even in the hot Georgia summer. Easy access to the water for your dog.

Enjoyable hike. Gorgeous lake views. Make certain to take the short out-and-back detour off the west side of the loop to view the dam and the goats that graze to keep the surrounding grasses short. We felt the trail was well marked. Very nice canopied trail.

Excellent un-paved walk around a lake. Dogs love the many opportunities to get in water, including the lake and a couple of streams. The seasonal vistas are wonderful for the soul. My favorite is mushroom season when there are huge colonies of mushrooms everywhere!

Nice hike, hard trail, good exercise, beautiful view to the lake

sparsely populated on a Monday

Nice enough trail with a mix of pavement and gravel. Part of it is currently under construction though.

Very nice trail. Went with 9 year old son and it was not problem but he was tired at the end of it. Nice along the Chattahoochee and along the lake. Good shade inland. Trails are easy to spot as long as you look for the white trail blaze markings on the trees.

Once you figure out the trail , it’s easy to follow.

Great trail in the burbs!! Walking along the river and couple of elevation is great!

great all around family trail.
we hiked this trail on the last Sunday and it was simply great.
family of 5 and even the 3 old kid managed to do most of it.
we haven't complited all of the trail but completed around 3/4 of it.

Its a good trail with moderate difficulty. Really enjoyed the scenic view of Chattahoochee river.

Loved this short easy trail with beautiful views of the lake the entire way. Many benches and places to stop to take in the views.

Nice shaded hike with river and lake views. A lot of fishing spots to boot.

I'm not sure we got to experience the whole thing, due to some 'police line - do not cross' tape near the bridge. Nice walk otherwise.

This trail is so easy to follow. Loki and I enjoyed our morning walk .

The part that we got to walk was beautiful. Construction stopped us very close to the beginning. It's very unclear where you are as the one map down the trail doesn't inform you exactly where you are. It would've been so lovely. 8/9/18.

Beautiful view of lake Lanier and Chattahoochee river. We enjoyed the beach towards the end of our hike.

This is a nice enough little trail, but it is just too short to really get much of a workout or spend much time there, unless you want to walk in circles. But it's worth checking out at least once or twice, for sure.

Nice walk in the woods near river.

Great trail that takes you from views Lake Lanier from the parking lot, around Buford Dam, then along the Chattahoochee River and in and out of the woods with plenty of terrain changes. Nice challenge for trail running. Will definitely go again.

Poorly marked trails. Nice hike. All trails intersect at some point so you cannot really get too sidetracked.

Loved it until part of the meadow was dug up to become dog parks. :( Part of the path is blocked off for the construction, so it's a partial out and back.

Also wish it were more natural instead of paved.

I liked the trail but it was NOT easy to follow at all. The map signs are missing at several forks and intersections in the trail so I was lost for quite a while. There are also a lot of areas that look like part of the trail but are not. Other than that the trail itself is fun and easy with a few moderate climbs depending on your skill level. Enjoyed walking by the river and spotted some deer!

I really enjoyed this trail. As other commenters have mentioned, it isn’t marked very well so there are moments where you may fall off track and wander around picnic and playground areas, however that is only a handful of times. Otherwise, awesome trail. Super pretty when you are right beside the river.

Beautiful trail. 3 points to consider: 1. No dogs allowed - which is disappointing. 2. There are a couple of spots where the trail isn't clearly marked - very easy to get side tracked wandering around parking lots. 3. There are some secluded spots where I did not feel comfortable (as a female) being alone - which is why I wish I could take my dog.
