Great scenic hike with a ton of views to see and explore. The trail is easy and please take the second loop on the trail. You don’t want to miss the second waterfall along with a large shallow cave! You can walk inside the cave while being right behind the waterfall.

My wife and I completed this trail on a 35 degree (at most) day and for the first time on this trail, plenty of water was flowing over the falls. And, due to the cold temps, plenty of ice at the bottoms of the falls. This is one of my favorite hikes in terms of scenery, bluffs, cliffs, rock faces, and similar. Absolutely beautiful area. Overall, this is a easy to moderate trail with only a handful of sketchy areas for the really young or old. Exploring around and off the trail is what makes this trail so fascinating! See our photos here.

Arrived at Trailhead to NO PARKING... Now what?!

Visited on a Monday morning and only saw two others on the trail. We basically had the whole canyon to ourselves! Very beautiful!

Beautiful hike this time of year with leaves starting to change color and falling on the pathway. Hike was very peaceful, not crowded. Good mix of easy terrain and hills for refreshing exercise. I enjoyed the view of the lake through the trees!

beautiful scenery. Lots of colorful fungi. rocks and lots of acorns made it rugged. The best marked trail.

love the trails. rugged due to lots of rocks and twice turns. beautiful scenery.

Camping is no longer allowed on this trail. Beautiful hike!

Lightly traveled so be alert for spider webs. nice trail for dogs.

Nice trail, beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, the waterfall was dried up on our visit. There is a single disperse campsite located to the right of the entrance.

Good hike. Great little place and well marked. Just make sure you take at the loop!

Good workout. Narrow trail as grasses and weeds very prevalent.

Great hike, even without the waterfall running and the creek beds being pretty dry. Definitely take the optional loop when you get too it. The shallow cave at the top is awesome.

Fun small hike but I'm not sure if I'd recommend. Parts of the trail are grown up(August 2018). I use deet spray but still check for ticks. Only two managed to get on me.

This trail seemed to not be traveled often as there are spiders and web everywhere. I can deal with webs but come on... Not every 5 feet.

I also picked up what I believe to be chiggers bites on my lower legs/ankles. No big deal... It has just made for an itchy couple of days. I hope the next leg of the trail isn't as bad.

The trail isn't really that hard in my opinion. Miles 4 to 5 get a little steep but it doesn't last long.

I'm not sure if I'll ever take this leg of the trail again.

rugged trail. breathtaking views. like being in the appalachians

Ticks everywhere. The trail was overgrown and I couldn’t help but get these tiny ticks all over my legs. Bring lots of bug spray!

Very poorly marked trails. Very easy to get lost. Very very overgrown trails. Very steep trails throughout. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to even my worst enemy.

Trail is the best marked trail I’ve been on. Easy grade changes, rocky trail.

Great views, not crowded!

This is a wonderful 2.5 mile trail to hike. It had good elevation and turns with very good trail markers. The dense trees provided a perfect canopy on a hot, humid morning. We wished we had time to hike the entire trail. To get to the trail entrance, follow the golf course signs to the practice area and first tee.

I’m fit, yet this trail kicked my butt. You’ll need AT LEAST three full days of hiking, unless you are a freak of nature. It’s a lot of fun though and great southern Indiana scenery!

Great trail! Would not grade it as hard. More of the high end of moderate. Well marked. Dachshund friendly. Great workout. No real excess to the lake.

Hiked the Southridge Trail (yellow blaze). Well marked. Blue blaze trail was not passable due to trees down/storm damage. Need a hiking pole or stick for spider webs.

Very nice trail! A great workout for our family of 5, (13 yo, 10 yo, 8 yo). All sweating and ready to take the shortcut loop on trail 2, which after a mixup on where we were supposed to start ended up being 3.5 miles. Wish we could’ve seen with full creeks but nothing trickling during our visit.

Gorgeous views. We actually hiked at Hemlock on a rainy day, and it was a lot of fun.

Went with my wife on her first backpacking trip. Didn’t get full trail in and had spots that were grown over and had to carefully look for blazes. Plan to do myself in the near future.

Moderate well marked and not busy. , but mid July @ 94 degrees may not be the best time to try it.
