Decent state park hike. Far from hard however.

Absolutely love this trail. We were lucky and hit it the day after a rain and the waterfalls were spectacular, even caught a double rainbow at the first one (see pictures). Both waterfalls you can go behind. Down at the bottom of the first make sure to venture of the trail (follow the creek bed and climb up the rocks a bit) there is a gorgeous hidden small waterfall. If you climb up onto the rocks there is a small cave. The trails were nice and well marked. We drove from Louisville, KY and it was well worth it. Will def do it again. We went on a 58 degree day in Jan and was at the trail by 1030 am and took the last parking spot. There’s plenty of parking, but that’s how popular it was and even when leaving, people were still pouring in. This isn’t a long or hard trail, but take your time and explore off trail a bit when you see the opportunity. There’s some steps and rock
Climbing. It’s an amazing trail!

Moderately easy trail, good for getting out and close to the city. Some areas can get muddy so don’t bring your new kicks.

Very clean well mark trail. Very maneuverable with the dog. Kids have not stopped talking about how much fun it was. Looking forward to a winter hike to check out the frozen falls.

A great trail in a great park! Your feet will definitely get wet on the trail, so be prepared. In the winter, it also gets quite muddy. There is a lot to see on this trail, ranging from waterfalls and canyons to caves and rivers. I highly recommend it!

Family trip for New Year's Day, 7 and 8 year olds led 90% of the way. Fun downhill start with loop around the lake then back up for the finish! Over 400 stairs round-trip, but plenty of natural, well-kept trail.

There is a Christmas Eve hike every year on this loop, & that was the day I went. I agree it should be upgraded to rugged for that final dune, I almost had to scramble to get up. But it is worth it for the views.

I agree I would not call this trail moderate. It should be easy. One hill with steps doesn’t qualify it as moderate for me. I like being “off road”

Nice hike but a lot of it was on asphalt which was a downer. I liked the woods portion.

this is a must-visit

This is the coolest little loop trail in Indiana. It's literally a playground. There's cool stuff tucked away off trail everywhere. I'd come back to this trail just to get off trail. So fun.

love this trail. very beautiful in the fall when trees are turning colors. plenty of benches to stop and just breath in the fresh air.

Perfect for a short, quick hike. Well maintained, well marked trails. Awesome geology.

Great scenic hike with a ton of views to see and explore. The trail is easy and please take the second loop on the trail. You don’t want to miss the second waterfall along with a large shallow cave! You can walk inside the cave while being right behind the waterfall.

My wife and I completed this trail on a 35 degree (at most) day and for the first time on this trail, plenty of water was flowing over the falls. And, due to the cold temps, plenty of ice at the bottoms of the falls. This is one of my favorite hikes in terms of scenery, bluffs, cliffs, rock faces, and similar. Absolutely beautiful area. Overall, this is a easy to moderate trail with only a handful of sketchy areas for the really young or old. Exploring around and off the trail is what makes this trail so fascinating! See our photos here.

An easy but scenic hike. Some nice looking small creeks running along the parts of the path makes for some great nature pics.

Sunrise hike 35F leaving the Pottawattamie in board walk through the swamp also included we trail 8 open field Kame and pothole out wash field

Visited on a Monday morning and only saw two others on the trail. We basically had the whole canyon to ourselves! Very beautiful!

excellent. well marked wooded trail!

Great morning hike with the kids. Plus the playground at the end is an added bonus!

First time in Fort Harrison. First time using this app. Enjoyed both. Chipmunks and squirrels and deer, oh my!

Relatively new to hiking and now working to expose my kids who are 6 and 4 to the activity, this trail starts off with a light warm up and then gradually gets a bit more challenging (specifically for my kids). The creek bed and water was a great break as we spent a lot of time resting and having fun. Nice trail.

One of my fave hikes in the state park. Not generally very busy and a nice place to go on a hike to escape the city life for a bit.

Camping is no longer allowed on this trail. Beautiful hike!

Beautiful Indiana trail.

this was one of the best parks I have been to in a while in the midwest. It is clean and taken care of. The trails range from paved and flat to rugged, traversing the creek, up and down tougher hikes for an average person. I really enjoyed my day and was able to spend 3 hours moving through the park and viewing the awesome landscape.

Very pretty hike with some really nice views of the lake after the first big climb. Bring bug spray for the woodsy sections.

Nice trail, beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, the waterfall was dried up on our visit. There is a single disperse campsite located to the right of the entrance.

Love this trail! It’s challenging, so make sure you’re wearing appropriate footwear (waterproof hiking boots are essential). That said, our five-year-old daughter completed this trail today, and she loved it! We have hiked several state parks in Indiana, such as McCormick’s Creek, Clifty Falls, Spring Mill, Brown County, and the list goes on. But, Trail 3 at Turkey Run is my overall favorite!
