Do not do the AllTrails loop as it had you crossing busy road - only 1 tunnel - so take out and back on that section - see recording Paved & gravel
So peaceful! Love it here!
Great little neighborhood trail for a brief 2 mile loop. All of it is paved with the exception of a quarter mile stretch from the mind to the parking lot. This would be a perfect experience to share with a less mobile or wheelchair-bound partner. Unfortunately, like anything this excess a bowl, it’s very crowded and there are many dog walkers.
Great Flowers in bloom
Not paved Various trails Easy trail - bridges over creeks
easy walk, nice for our first time in Richmond.
We took our time to explore and get to know the trail. It has a lot of connection trails, and some that lead out of the park to private property. The entrance by Sabot off of Stony Point Rd didn’t offer the best map, but once you’ve walked a little ways you will eventually come to one of the nicer color coded trail maps. I recommend taking a picture if you don’t have a good sense of direction or if it’s your first time on the trail. It helped us beat a storm getting out of there! One section of red trail was completely flooded in 6-12 inches of running water. We still used branches to cross is, and I’m not sure if it was only because of recent heavy rains. I was expecting it to be treacherously muddy, but it really wasn’t that bad. Definitely wear hiking boots that are water proof if there have been recent rains.
Confusing but fun
Nice easy walk. Did the trail twice for 3 miles total
A 100 acre garden that any city in the world would be proud of
Great for everyone
Frisbee golf-heads, mutant ducks and some debris. have fun.
Good birding trail. It has all the right attributes, birds, insects, water and trees.
Incredible historical significance.
Beautiful views of the James. Took the family 2 teens and the hike was perfect for a morning outing. We lost the trail and ended up at the Pump House walked on the road to north loop trail and then back.
