Hiked 8/20/18, starting at 9:30am and finished by 12:30pm. We started going right from the trailhead (when facing the lake). Highly recommend going this direction as it provides the best views of the Tetons and had very few people with us on the trail in the morning. Saw one bear near the boat dock across the lake but park rangers were there to scare it away.

Easy walk with rewarding vistas.

For those of you who would consider yourself a novice, like myself, after about 2.5 miles of general hicking expect about 2 miles of hiking up switchbacks to get all the way to the top (I checked it with a GPS). The trail was good with some places with higher stepping place and some loose rocks. We stopped at Alpine Lake along the way for a short break and managed to get to Sawtooth Lake in 3 hours. On the way back with just walking at a moderate pace took about 2.5 hours.

easy in. moderate out.

My first solo hike! Only wildlife I saw was a few chipmunks. Finished the loop in 2.5 hours, so I would rate this trail as easy, not moderate.

trail running

Today was a beautiful day for this hike/trail run. There was many great views of the jagged peaks of the sawtooth mountains. The turquoise color on the edge of both sawtooth lake and alpine lake were amazing. I didn't notice many mosquitoes and the air was clear. It took me about 1 hr 45 minutes to go up and about 1 hr 20 minutes to come down (some trail running involved). I spent about an hour at the lake. Overall this is a very scenic hike and there are still some wildflowers in bloom.

We hiked this trail August 16th. We enjoyed it but we would rate it as Easy. We had to add side trails up Death Canyon to get our heart rate up.

Nice little trail. wildflowers are out. The jumping rock is super fun! The water was extremely clear.

Short. Asphalt surface. Nice waterfall!

My friends and I did this hike last Sunday (8/12) and were somewhat disappointed with the closures on the trail. Also, the entirety of this hike runs alongside North Rim Drive, which really takes away from the majesty of hiking in the wilderness.

We started this trek around 3 pm and arrived back at our car around 5 pm. Instead of starting at the Upper Falls, like the trail map suggests, we actually began at the Brink of the Lower Falls Trail. This ended up being the highlight of our day, as the views looking back into The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone were absolutely breathtaking!

After making the trek back up to the road, we continued onward to Lookout Point and Grand View. We would have liked to reach Inspiration Point but were met with a closure sign upon arriving at the trailhead, which really put a damper on the day.

We did end up driving along the South Rim Drive to Artist Point, which was a pleasant consolation, even though Inspiration Point provided a higher vantage point and an entire view of the canyon, which we missed out on.

If you’re looking to escape the masses on the road, this is not the trail for you.

Great variety - lush meadows, bubbling creeks, great views all around. Lots of wild flowers!

camped at Alpine lake, and day hiked up to Sawtooth lake. The beauty of this place feels like a national park. spent the afternoon at Sawtooth lake swimming (cold), and "sledding" on a snow field in our bathing suits. Most beautiful place I have ever backpacked.

Well maintained trail with a beautiful view of the Grand Teton Mountain over Taggert Lake. Hiked Aug 2018 with the Denton’s.

awesome!

I have hiked this trail three separate times. The beautiful aspens, view of the lake and the Tetons make for a tranquil hike. Very heavily trafficked up until the lake, then moderately trafficked continuing on the loop. We went a few days ago and ran into a black bear. We made noise and it ran into the woods. Nice easy hike.

Great hike. A little of everything on the way.

First time hiking this trail and it did not disappoint. The first leg is a nice pace and we saw a bear not too far off the trail which was really cool to watch. Cooled off in the water up top and along the way which was very refreshing. Certainly recommend this trail

Awesome hike, beautiful lakes, incredible mountains. First half is super easy, all the elevation gain is done in the last two miles. My watch clocked me at 10.75 miles, we had to park a little bit down the road from the main parking lot, so a little bit of the extra mileage came from this but not a lot. I’d plan this to be more around 10 and not 8.5.

Hiking is beautiful and moderate. Heard and saw lots of kids wading in the lake Water is pure and clear.

Loved this trail and Lake! Switchbacks made the elevation change easy. Beautiful lake, clear water.

Great place to go for a beautiful hike through meadows of wild flowers. I uploaded photos but there did not attach to my review.

This was my first time to Grand Teton and I wasn't sure which trail to hike. I was originally looking for a moderate to hard trail but ended up on the Jenny Lake Trail...and LOVED it. You get to see some amazing scenery and the trail is fun at all times.

A great morning hike for my son and I. Hit the trail just before 8 and were done well before 10. Great photo spots for family. Morning reflection of Tetons off lake were incredible. Didn’t see any wildlife other than pika.

It's colorful and beautiful here.

A good choice to see the geysers. Lots of geysers along the trail. Remember to plan enough time for this trail. You will stay more time then you expect.

Lovely day hike. It was a great way for a flat lander to acclimate before a multi day backcountry trip.

This was a great trail with a beautiful lake. The only reason I rated it 3 rather than 4 is because I prefer trails with fewer people and this one is HEAVILY trafficked. Going clockwise be prepared for a fairly steep climb up on the backside of the mountain. My 7 year old got a little tired.

Great trail! Started at 8:30 am on a Tuesday in August. Parking was not a problem. Great views throughout the hike. Go in the morning to see the Tetons reflecting in the lake.
