Nice trail! We lost a coat, if anyone finds a nice grey coat let me know. It’s my friend’s, so I don’t have all the details, but she would love it back.
Really good hike and really steep. Had fun on the falls!
Nice trail, we did it as an out and back. Steep climb down the rim but heading up was fine. Beautiful water and a nice water fall.
Beautiful trail and the water color is breathtaking. When we reached the gate across the road on top of the bluff, we decided to make it an out and back to avoid walking in the wind. Pretty windy up top, but really nice down in the canyon.
Great little hike. Only went down the trail towards the Snake River, and wanted to check out where we first did the overlook, but we ran out of time. It’s a little steep getting into the canyon (more for the older folks), but easy-going once you’re down.
Its a beautiful trail but today is so windy but we still manage to enjoy the trail. I would consider this a moderate trail. Wear a good hiking shoes.
Gorgeous! Nice place to hike!
We arrived at 9:20AM on a Sunday and there was 1 other car in the parking lot. We walked the loop counter clockwise descending into the canyon following the rim trail and going down at the cables. The last half of the trail is a gravel road and a hot, featureless walk so I recommend it as an out and back and turn back when you arrive at the gravel road. There are a couple of beautiful swimming spots with turquoise blue water. And a nice spot to view a wide, short drop waterfall. From the fee parking area it’s a ~3.6 mile loop. The parking lot was full when we returned so an early start is recommended.
fall is small right now
Never been so it was a great place to wander. I took the flat trail as my first half based on some feedback of other reviews and think that was best for me. very beautiful views for sure
Great little loop trail. The color of the water is Amazing. Definitely a good family hike.
Nice trip down into the canyon but the road back is a little bland. I would probably turn around and come backwards next time.
Good trail. Rough descent. Beautiful spring water at the bottom of the canyon
This was amazing! The water is just beautiful! I'm a thick lady and did just fine!
Unfortunately, Loop Road wasn’t open to vehicles yet so I had to hike from the visitor center. I got a really late start at 5:30pm but that left the entire park to myself! I walked Loop Road all the way to Inferno, Snow, and Spatter Cones because the North Flow Trail at the northern end had 1-2 feet of snow and I had no snowshoes. As an amateur geologist, I can’t tell you how exciting it was to have the chance to hike into actual volcanoes! The landscape of this area, backdropped by the Pioneer Mountains, produced magnificent views. I started running low on daylight so I had to head back. Yet I noticed the southern end of North Flow Trail was free of snow, a shorter hike than Loop Road, and would take me by Big Craters. I decided to try it, and was I ever rewarded! Hiking along the rim of Big Craters has been one of the most favorite hikes of my life. It was so cool to hike along the rim and look down into those massive craters and then see the Pioneer Mountains to my left. I spent so much time there that I actually had to finish my hike with my headlamp and in the deep snow at the north end, which made it near impossible to know where the trail was. But I made it back to Loop Toad and finished the hike to my car under moonlight - how appropriate for this park! I thought I had never heard of this park but then discovered from my dad that our family actually went through this park when I was seven. It must have been overshadowed by all the other parks we visited on that trip for the first time, like the Grand Canyon, haha!
So beautiful! We did it backwards but worth it!
So beautiful; did it with my 8 month old on my back. The waterfall was incredible.
Great condition and beautiful views.
Great hike and beautiful blue water. Parking lot has been upgraded with asphalt and port-a-potties. Trail has dried out a lot since early March posters mention.
The trail was clear and easy to access. There were areas that were still icy on the hike out due to the time of year.
This trail is currently very muddy and slippery in places as there’s still some ice/snow on some parts of the trail. Tread slowly and with caution; it makes for a beautiful hike.
