The trail was awesome but beware unless you have 4 wheel drive don’t try to drive all the way to the trail. Shout out to John for giving us a ride, thank you so much man! The hike is pretty difficult, a real calf burner. The views are amazing though and definitely worth it. Didn’t see any mountain goats but lots of bear tracks!!!! Found a dog collar with attachment, if you think it might be your or know someone who is missing one please let me know.

The road was interesting to say the least. Still had a lot of snow and mud, I would recommend a high clearance vehicle! We ended up turning around because the road got so bad, will be back to try in the summer.

My all time favorite hike! Worth every mile. Goats on the trail so be aware as some would charge if they felt threatened but that only happened once. Most keep to themselves.

I tried to do that trail yesterday 1/18/21. After the long sketchy drive on Anderson Dam road at about mile 10 (5 more to go) the road is just completely closed unplowed and blocked off only to be used by snowmobiles.

A tree had fallen across the road about at least a mile from the trailhead. Snow covered for about the last mile to the peak (the whole ridge, once we left the trees). Overall loved this trail and it was very achievable for someone who is decently active!

Didn’t actually make it there. There is a huge tree about 2 miles from the trailhead. Unless you have a chainsaw or park your vehicle and walk a couple extra miles, you’re not getting by. Beautiful area though

This hike is amazing. We got some snow the night before, so probably 60% of the trail was snow covered. We brought yaktrax and gaiters, and ended up using them on the descent. They weren’t necessary, but they were helpful! The views were beautiful. Not a soul in sight. I would definitely do this hike again.

Lots of overgrowth and trees blocking the path making it hard to find at times. VERY steep elevation the whole way up.

About 45min drive on gravel road. Beautiful but long drive. Trail is great. Entire trip to the lake is downhill about 1300 ft. Quite a climb back but really 2 really steep parts otherwise we were all in good form when we finished with a 6 and 9 year old.

HikingGreat!

This was a great hike - done it twice now and it should be noted that the goats are only at the top seasonally! In August there were quite a few but by October they were gone. Also, the weather can vary drastically so be prepared accordingly!

Great views that get better the higher you go. Very pretty lake on top of mountain. A bit rocky but sections of mulch that break it up. Every break point has a great view to enjoy while taking a drink of water and catching your breath.

Steep trail but worth the trek! Next time I will bring hiking poles for the walk down.

Steep trail, but great view at the top. There were a few downed trees across the path near the top. The trail is moderately difficult to follow a few times.

HikingGreat!Snow

Great hike today! Sporadic snow about 2 miles in; moving to heavy drifts for the last 1/2 mile. Recommend poles and/or trax. Very consistent elevation gain. Switchbacks for about 45min followed by about an hour of consistent elevation gain.

Perfect fall hike with beautiful fall colors. There was a dusting of snow at the lake and on the peak. We enjoyed bluebirds, tadpoles, and some kissing chipmunks.
