(10.6.18) We followed the GPS to a closed gate that we are assuming is closed do to logging in that area.

Clean well marked trails along the pathways. It wasn’t clear that half the trails are on the other side of the road. We plan to go back and walk the other one.

Awesome, easy hike through beautiful scenery.

Beautiful trail through the trees. Uphill on the way out to the lake. It snowed while we were there end of sept. Very popular hike. Beautiful waterfall on the trail of the cedars. The avalanche trail also runs along a creek which was very pretty.

This was my first mountain trail. I probably bit off a little more than I should have as a novice, but I made it. It’s such a beautiful place and I highly recommend. I would think this should be listed as hard though. There are a lot of loose rocks and the trail was pretty hard, even some areas where you have to climb over some boulders. There’s a great view about a half mile down from the top, and the rest of the trail is pretty difficult. The lake at the top is really beautiful, just nestled in the mountain! Overall a great time and a worthwhile challenge.

Hiked this with two young kids. We had to carry them most of the way, but we made it to the lake in about an hour. The view at the end was well worth it.

Nice north face trail. Lottsa beautiful folliage, solid incline, and stunning views. Will do it again next year!

Everything about this hike is perfection... but don’t cut it short. Go to both ends of the lake. You’re missing out if you don’t see the view from the opposite shore. Plus fewer people go the full distance so it’s a little more peaceful.

One the most beautiful trails I have hiked. Breathtaking, serene lake and heavenly waterfalls. Lots of wildlife.

Slice of heaven.

Beautiful walk along the stream and lake at the end is absolutely stunning. It was quiet going up to the lake but lots of crowds as we made our way back down. Going to the sun had just closed at avalanche creek so lots of people settled on this hike when they realized they couldn't drive further. Definitely recommend going early as part of the lake's beauty is its solitude.

Enjoyed this trail. Great scenery along the way to the lake. Would definitely do it again in summer though and first thing in the morning to avoid crowds

This would be a wonderful family hike as there's no elevation gain and a well paved trail. Lake was beautiful as were the mountain peaks and waterfalls/streams on the way in.

Amazing views all around. We aren’t in great shape so it took us a little longer than others. There were a lot of people on the trail; views getting there and back were just as beautiful as the Hidden Lake. Mostly wooden planks and then there are gravel trails. Some snow on the boardwalks but dries out around noon.

Wonderful hike with lots of wildlife. We seen a lot of Mt Goats and long horn sheep. The flowers were just starting to bloom.

We only met 2 other hikers on the trail. Perfect for my 4yo and 2yo. Nice spot about the halfway point we stopped for a picnic. My 2yo rode her strider bike most of the trail. The last quarter mile they were ready to be done. But that is my idea of a successful hike.

Great straight up workout with excellent views on top!

an amazing hike in all directions. easy hike if you are in shape. a glacier park must do!

Great easy loop. You can do both hikes from one parking lot. Don’t expect too much but it’s a nice spot to get out of town and into nature! Follow all our adventure on Instagram @themicrotourists!

Relatively easy hike if you're in average shape, and the view was amazing even with a lot of smoke. Lots of wildlife along the trail, just don't crowd them. We saw mountain goats at multiple times on the trail as well as passing bighorn sheep. Get there early or take a shuttle because parking is limited and this is a popular destination.

Great exercise, and the view at the lake is breathtaking! Lake is freezing, but there are plenty of deer and other wildlife to be seen on the way. Running shoes worked during the summer-
Busy trail with a lot of families, but still recommend

Great hike. Set some time aside to enjoy all the cut outs and views of the river. Saw deer and a Bear way in the distance. Great work out.

Beautiful trail! Great easy hike up to the view point. We saw big horned goats on the way up which was pretty special. The wildflowers are in perfect bloom along the trail and there are still small streams coming from the mountain top.

Such a fun hike! Beautiful views and well maintained trail. Rocky terrain, uphill the entire climb. 2.5 miles one way.

I couldn't help myself, the last review was a little dramatic, to say the least.

Hunt Lake is an "easy" hike in for an alpine lake. I've backpacked this spot four times now and I love it. The road is a little rough and you do need a truck or jeep to get up the last mile of washed out road.

The trail in is hard to follow as people have created multiple trails over the mix of bouldering and dirt trails. When you start out the more trail version to the lake is more north of the boulders and the "red dot" trail is right through the middle. If you do follow the red dots on the rocks be sure to head a little north when you reach the incline as the trail takes you up. I'm not sure the last review by Joshua might have been because he got lost and off trail. It really isn't that hard. I see kids out there all the time and we had a 13-year-old with us on this trip who loved it.

We camped Friday and Saturday. The wind was bad Friday night but not Saturday. Saturday night was clear and the stars were amazing but it was cold at night and there was frost in the AM.

At this point, I think it could snow up there anytime. I've gone in October and woke up to snow.

Take a real axe if you want to have a fire as all the small stuff has been picked over. Good fishing but only really at Golden hour.

Have fun and be safe!

amazing hike and the view was breath taking

This was a GREAT family hike. 3.7 miles is the entire distance, 1.8 each way. Lots of scenery from overlooks of the lake to tall cedar forests, and several in between. Overall, the trail goes up and down, which makes for a nice rest period after each uphill portion. My 7 and 9 year olds had a blast and neither had any difficulty with the trail.

There is a parking lot and pit toilet at each end. There is also a really nice picnic area with tables at the North end of the trail. We will definitely be back and plan to picnic there!

Busy but never felt crowded, hiked over snowy parts in mid July, no shade, bring sunscreen, and give the mountain goats their space. Spectacular views everywhere!

Very disappointing hike. Why did everyone love this one? First off, you should be warned that the drive is a long gravel road and hard to find. Thanks to the previous reviewer’s info about turning at the red barn, we eventually found the right road. But 2-3 miles down the road we went towards “All trails” instead of “campground”. Big mistake! Horrendous 2.5 miles of potholes!
The hike itself was okay, but should only be done on a clear sunny day. It’s very smoky right now, so no views. With no views, this hike is definitely not worth the drive.
