I did this hike in August because Angels Landing was closed. It’s a steady climb of switchbacks with spectacular views. Midway is a slot canyon with shade and a nice stop for photos before continuing to the summit. The temperature was reaching the 90s. Take 2-3 liters of water and snacks. I arrived at the summit at lunch and it was very crowded. I found a relaxing spot to enjoy the views over Angels Landing and watch the tourists taking pics and face timing friends. Round trip was aprox 4 hours. Fantastic hike!

Great hike!! Did this hike a couple days ago and the weather was perfect! Started right before 8 am and finished right under 4 hours. Spent about 20 min at the top. Was only 2 other people up there. Amazing views! Glad we did the hike when we did before it warmed up. The second set of switchbacks was tougher than the first. As soon as we finished this hike we went and did Angels Landing. I thought this hike was better and is def my favorite in the park!

Awesome hiking take good hiking shoes and water.

Great hike, well maintained. Bring plenty of water as this is strenuous. I am scared of heights, but the trail is sturdy so I did not have any difficulties with the drop offs at points. Bring a pair of hiking poles!!!!

Amazing hike. Bring lots of water. Views going up and at the summit are spectacular. Strenuous with the switchbacks but absolutely worth it!!!!

Another incredible hike in Zion. The hike has significant elevation gain virtually all the way to the viewpoint. There’s no shortage of awe inspiring views the entire trip. My only tip, is from the view point, follow the cliff line clock wise for a bit. The views are just as impressive looking down the canyon at the Temple of Sinawava but there’s no one there.

Short hike with a beautifully groomed trail. Waterfall was dead when we passed through but totally worth the hike!

This is a really awesome hike! It is very strenuous heading up, but the views are amazing throughout. There are several switchbacks. We took our time taking breaks along the way. We each packed 3 liters in our camelbacks, which I recommend bringing. We headed out on the hike about 9:30 am and it was 37 degrees. I was wearing several layers, which I had to remove along the ascent and had to put them back on at the top. We arrived at the top at noon and there was about 20 people up there. We brought lunch and spent about 45 minutes at the top enjoying the view and the three chipmunks running around up there. After this hike, we feel we are definitely ready for Angels Landing now.

Did this hike later in the day. Barely made it back in time for the last bus, but it was worth it (took me about 3 hours round trip). Very few people on the trail! Only 4 other folks at the peak. The views were utterly spectacular. Definitely in my top 5 hikes!

Tough hike, but if you pace yourself and come prepared, it makes it better. The views are amazing all along the trail. Definitely recommend doing this one.

Definitely one of the best hikes I've ever been on! this is the only way to do the subway, folks. Coming from the other direction causes you to miss out on the whole experience. Ropes for obstacles & harnesses for repelling are necessary. tricky to find the trail in places but that is part of the adventure!! wetsuits also necessary in the late season. I love this hike!

This hike gives you everything that Zion has to offer. It’s a pretty challenging hike physically but the views are stunning. We did Angel’s Landing the day before and found it really cool that you were literally looking down at it on this hike.

Life changing. Will definitely be doing it again. Leave in the morning to beat other hikers to the peak.

Amazing! Great views the entire way!

My favorite hike in the park. Bring lots of water as you will be in the sun the vast majority of the time. Switchbacks for 2/3 of the hike. The top, which is about a half mile I'd say, is all flat. Poles probably would have helped on the descent.

Totally worth the hike. The view is AMAZING! Hard hike but totally worth it!

I think this was my best hike at Zion. The view form Observation Point was stunning. I expected Observation Point to be barren and wind-blown, but the summit was calm and had vegetation. You could also see Angel's Landing from the summit. The trail was fairly difficult with many switchbacks but was well worth it. I found it harder than Angel's Landing.

This was a mostly level hike up a stream bed. There was only a small stream in October, but without waterproof hiking shoes, feet would still have been wet! Great, rewarding and relaxing hike; lots of slot canyons, two waterfalls, and wonderful fall foliage.

This is much shorter if you drive down the unpaved road. I drive a Prius so low clearance vehicles can make it down the road. Parking is a bit difficult so everyone parked along the road. The narrows aren’t that narrow at all but it’s amazing nonetheless.

My wife and I highly recommend this trek! Some of the best views in the park. The uphill switchbacks were pretty tough, but well worth it!

Strenuous like the description says but well worth it! We hiked it at 9am on October 19 and started out in jackets and hats but down to t-shirts at the top. Gorgeous trail that has switchbacks and has a small part thru an impressive canyon!

We did it Friday, 9/21 after winning the lottery permit drawing. It was bit cold and challenging but rewarding. Beautiful landscapes inside the canyons.

This is a difficult, but beautiful trail. Every switchback provides a new perspective. The view from the top isn't the only great view. Echo Canyon is a bonus. The park service says this is an 8 mile hike. All Trails shows it as 7.1 miles. I used the All Trails app to record our hike and the recording says it's 10.4 miles. Why so much difference?

Did this in one day and was amazing. However I recommend taking your time and doing it in two days.

We hike a lot, and my husband and I said this was one of the best hikes we’ve ever done. Go early to beat the crowds and be prepared to get a leg workout. If you’re in decent shape and going to Zion, I would consider this a “can’t miss”

A very difficult hike for me physically and mentally (I don’t like heights) but worth every step to get to the top! Amazing view!

Challenging hike as far as elevation gain/loss but definitely rewarding. Very agreeable trail material making footing easy. Approximately 90% stone/concrete and 10% sand. Pretty much straight up then straight down so anyone with bad knees...be forewarned. The decent is knee-jarring. Highly suggest good shoes or boots if you don’t want your toes cramming against your shoes on the decent. I saw a few with sandals...and subsequently blisters. Take plenty of water and salty snacks, extra if it’s very hot. If you have time, pack a lunch or bigger snack to enjoy at the top. You’ll be hungry. Overall great hike.

A must if you are visiting Zion!
