The falls are beautiful. The hike was easy but not a lot to see along the way which made it more difficult in my mind. Would probably hike from PCT if I were to go to Ramona again.

Our family of 4 completed this hike today and loved it (about 3.5 hours including a 20 min lunch). It wasn't very difficult, very pretty and the return trail on the lollipop was definitely our favorite. The falls have a unique look which was very nice. The round trip distance with my GPS watch was 6.87 miles from the trailhead. Also you must get a day pass from town, you can't get it at the trailhead. Loved it!

Short easy-moderate hike with breathtaking views. Great for kids and lots of shady spots on top for picnics. Well worth the morning.

Panoramic view at the top was spectacular and only took about an hour to hike up. Definitely a good way to spend some time.

Great hike. more than we expected but Ramona Falls was worth it!

I did this hike last week and it was great! definitely a good workout with amazing views. I went on a Sunday, midday and only came across a few other hikers. It did take me a little bit of navigating to get to the trailhead though, because my GPS took me on a route that had a closed road. Luckily there are lots of other forest roads to get you there. I highly recommend this hike and would do it again.

We went left which is the what I would consider the easiest way to go up so you can loop down near the sandy river and avoid going uphill as much.

Well maintained trail in the heart of PDX. I prefer early as the trail is open at 5 AM. Nice and quiet then.

Not very picturesque. Very long and not entirely safe. There is a water crossing that I wouldn't bring kids or animals through.

Great hike! Falls are gorgeous! Took 2.3 hours. total hike from parking up and around the loop. Going “right” at beginning of trail loop starts you on a steady uphill, not too steep, climb. Enjoy the falls while swatting flies, then downhill all the way back to parking lot. MapMyRun said 8.4 mile for me round trip from parking lot. Crossed river on stable logs

Great hike in the city.

Great hike with a wonderful waterfall! Views of Mt Hood were outstanding. I was a little worried about crossing the Sandy River but the water level was fairly low. We crossed on a log which spanned the river. It was a fairly gradual uphill to the waterfall- mostly downhill on the way back to the parking lot.
I highly recommend taking the Ramona Creek loop trail. The views of the creek and the vegetation were beautiful.

Love this trail, perfect hiking place for a hot day.

Google maps took us from Hood River, up over the ranges to get to the trail head. This required driving up some gravel/dirt roads with large potholes.

Several 4 wheels drives urged us to turn back, but we persevered. Fortunately we did not get wedged on top of the mountain and made to up to the start of the trail.

I would recommend taking the highway if you do not have something at least as big as an SUV.

The trail itself was quite good. A gradual incline the whole way up to the falls. Challenging to run, with some narrow sections where it is difficult to pass walkers, without pausing and waiting.

Easy decent. The waterfall is impressive in height, but lacking in water at this time of year. With no swimming hole at the base.

Dog friendly.

Enjoyed this hike. Peaceful and beautiful

Nicely maintained trail. Beautiful view at the top.

Easy hike, elevation gain is very minimal. Great views along various points of the trail. Glacial river was low this time of year. Would recommend going when the glacial river is high if you want a more adventurous river crossing and hike.

Beautiful falls!! I would recommend going clockwise to the falls and probably going back that same way. It follows the creek, and has more shade, so it is cooler. Also I think the insects are lighter. I hiked the full loop at the end of July and killed ALOT of flies that landed on me. The insects dust seem to be as bad on the way back down along the creek though.

Nice easy hike. Beautiful beach

Truly beautiful all the way, pct loop is magical, and wasn't that busy even on a Saturday afternoon! Toilet hasn't been serviced in a while, bring your own tp.

Such a great trail to a gorgeous waterfall! We were one of only about ten or so cars when we arrived at 10:00 am so we had the trail pretty much to ourselves. The Sandy River crossing was not a problem— there’s a sturdy log with another one nearby to hold on to. Gorgeous view of Mt Hood from the crossing! My friend and I went the “long way” (stayed to the north side of the lollipop) both ways because it was shadier on this hot day. It brought our mileage up a bit, but we stayed cooler. I’m definitely coming back!

Really great for a city trail. Good for trail running.

Very enjoyable hike. Log made the river crossing easy. FYI... flys got really bad about half way up!! If you stop you’ll get swarmed. More of a nuisance then anything else. Falls where beautiful and super refreshing.

Went Monday morning- got there around 9:50, there were already several cars in the lot, but the trail wasn't overly busy. The wknd must've been a busy one, as the outhouses were LOADED and out of TP. (Ha! Pun intended). Thankfully I didn't have to go! The trail itself is great. Crossing the river seemed fairly easy, and I prefer taking the PCT (to the left once u come to a fork in the road after crossing the river) to go to the falls. It was more picturesque with the creek and the cliffs. The Ramona trail was more out in the open and not as pretty imo. The bugs were TERRIBLE at the falls though. Couldn't really sit and enjoy the view, as you were too busy swatting away biting bugs!!! BLECH!!! But still a beautiful hike to the falls and the falls are definitely worth seeing!

The drive up to the falls isn’t too bad. A few potholes here and there, but my Honda Civic made it through no problem. The hike itself is not too strenuous, just A LOT of flies / bees that literally harass you like you owe them something. Very beautiful views on the way up and once at the falls, there’s multiple spots to hang out and cool off. Very shaded and breezy- even on a hot day (it was around 88 when I went). The river crossing isn’t hard whatsoever. The logs are thick and there’s even a make shift “railing” to hold on to.

loved it I did it in may a while back but never logged it beautiful at the top but ran into some snow and heavy rain on the way back down

Went on a Wednesday afternoon and wasn't too crowded. Started at 3 and was back to my car at 6:30. I had my Golden Retriever with me so we stopped a few times for him to cool off in the creek. Would definitely recommend going left at the fork if hiking with a dog, lots of water. Coming back the other way around the loop the trail is completely dry. My dog is a strong swimmer, but crossing the river made me pretty nervous. Current was much stronger and deeper than it appeared. Overall an afternoon well spent!

Good city hike. Wanted to stay close to city and get a good hike in, and this did the trick! The views from Pitock Mansion were great as well!
