Beautiful views. Only snag was that where the map said the trailhead would be, we didn’t really find anything close to resembling a trail. Ended up being more of a meander through the timber.

Hike is about 12-13 Miles round trip, not 9.8mi. End view is worth hiking all the way down but you have to maneuver over steep rocks going down and coming back up. Took us a total of 5hours, that included good rest periods.

Beautiful trail today. Got a late start and was getting hot, so only did 9.3. Wildflowers still in full bloom. No sign of wildlife until the meadow at the top where there was couple day-old elk droppings. Gorgeous views.

Not as cool because even well trained dogs needed to remain on leash. Won’t return to this trail.

I hiked this trail, the deadfall has been cleared and the wild-flowers are out, especially at the start of the trail (by the bridge over the wetlands) and in the high mountain meadows. I saw raspberries growing and huckleberries ripening about 1/2 mile into the hike. Take bear spray, I ran into some scat about 3.9 miles in on the mountain meadow.

This is one we often do early in the year because it is so gentle. In April we got turned back because of high water in the stream which is unusual. The creek often disappears into the gravels for most of the hike. Today, the water is still higher than usual so we had a total of 14 creek crossings... 3 of those were on bridges within the 1st mile that is accessible... rest were easy crossings. Found a few Lady Slipper orchids which was a surprise. this trail is not one I would say is loaded with wild flowers but there are a few. Cliffs are the real draw on this hike.

Beautiful easy to moderate hike. Went in mid October. Peaceful and quiet hike through gorgeous canyon walls. Enjoyed the fall colors.

Beautiful views in this scenic canyon. Novice hikers and little ones can do the first part.

Not single track. Trucks on the road while hiking. Didn't realize it was a road and not a true trail.

A little bit of a drive to get to the trailhead but the canyon views along the creek were spectacular. In and out of the trees, not much of an elevation, and nothing but peace and quiet out there! I will definitely be back if I get the chance.

My very favorite trail anywhere. Gorgeous from start to finish, good elevation change but not too tough for younger siblings. Great for hiking, but mountain biking is my favorite.

Helena native, drove thru Elkhorn & got stopped by high rocks on the road so walked from there 1/2 mile to the Queen Gulch intersection. Hiked in late May and it was me and my bro out of shape (age 19,20). Snow and rain melt was peak, and we had to jump the same 6+ ft wide stream obstructing the trail 3 separate times, pretty gnarly. Hike up is alright, but lots of rocks on path make it harder, if I was in shape it prob would be piece of cake. Once we made it to the intersection where it goes to Leslie lake to the left, and to the top trailhead in 2 miles to the right, we were running out of time cuz we started late in the day and we had dinner planned that night; decided to just go to Leslie lake on the left (much shorter, 3/4 mile). 1/2 a mile in and couldn't get past so much snow that was too dangerous for us. Turned around. Such a bummer. On top of that I lost my special knife my dad gave me I was carrying somewhere around there, maybe at the lookout at the start of the Leslie Lk trail, or somewhere along the way where we got buzzkilled by the 3 feet of snow in our way. Overall about 6 mile round trip hike for us, good exercise, bummed but will try again in July or August. (If you go up there and see my knife, just email iosgameplay1@gmail.com to return it. It has a black handle, just under 4 inches, in a black leather holder)

Great hike on a beautiful spring day. I would advise people to clean up after their dogs on the trail. It was quite busy on Saturday. I ran into a group pushing a person in a wheelchair and it made me happy they were able to get out together and enjoy Montana's beauty.

Full disclosure. Couldn't find overlook due to too much snow. Climbed the nearest rock and can't believe that the true trail's end view could possibly be any better.

Loved this moderately challenging trail and the views at the end were spectacular.

great trail! beautiful scenery and kids can do it too.

We actually took Queen Gulch Rd up to Leslie lake, and on up. Very Strenuous, wide road, but rocky with lose footing. Not much switchback. Mostly steep incline! About an 8+ mi hike. About 5 hrs total with many breaks as we had a 76 yr old with us. Beautiful views!!! We loved the old abandoned mining town Elkorn before we got up to the trailhead. Looks like some people still live there, but not many. Definitely takes you back in time!! I highly recommend any of these trails.

Majestic forests with bright colored leaves carpeting the Tim Burton type curling grey trees.
Cute quaint little cabin about mid-way up with an old wooden tree swing to sit and rest and enjoy the sights.
Very challenging peak. Very large boulder field to the tippity top.
The view is well worth the climb.

Very pretty walk through steep sided rock walls. In and out of trees and across rocky areas. We turned around at an opened overhead wooden gate (I think where FS road 138 took off. +/- 3mi. )
Note: When we were here (9/10) there is only water for the first qtr mile and no water for dogs again until a spring at the OH gate.

beautiful area and the cliffs hanging on either side of the canyon are spectacular. I would definitely rate this hike as easy since it was generally flat the whole way with some small ups and downs. It would be more interesting to bike, ride horses through, or do as a moderate trail run.

Easy to moderate trail depending on how far you go. Towards the end it gets a little more difficult in some places but well worth going all the way.

Hiked Flesher Pass to Stemple Pass. Great views. Good open areas. Don't get confused by the junction at mile 3.1. Go straight.

A steep start, but once you get over that, the hike is still moderate, but spectacular. Reaching the ridge crest, you can veer off to Edith Peak, or continue on the trail. It drops down to Edith Lake. One end of the lake is a HUGE boulder field. Fun to go rock hopping, but I would not want to be there when another HOUSE SIZE boulder makes its way down from above.
