Super pretty hike. The entire trail was covered in hard packed snow and some ice. Boots chains and poles for the win!

As those have already stated, the trail head is a mile and a half from the visitor's center where you start when snowshoeing. It wasn't overly crowded. Stunning views on a beautiful day. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

One of my favorite short hikes. The falls and pool are beauriful. Be sure to go when the runoff is at its peak.

Went this weekend. It was amazing. 3/17/18 it was snowy still, slippery in some places. Be careful, but otherwise wonderful!

Wife and I just did the loop yesterday. Beautiful walk. There were a lot of families along the trail and it seemed like even the young kids weren’t having any issues. Well maintained, well marked. We were prepared for a much more difficult hike, but all of the falls and the forest were such a great atmosphere that we really enjoyed ourselves. Casual walk, stopping for photos, a lunch break, and to converse with some folks- the whole thing took 3.5 hours.

A great family friendly hike. You can hike different sections if you are crunched for time or the whole Loop. I've done both ways several times. It does get very busy in the late spring and summer. Best time to enjoy it is on a weekday- less busy.

I wouldn't recommend this to avid hikers, but it's perfect for families and people who don't want a super strenuous hike or to have to go out into the wilderness. For someone who hikes/backpacks as a hobby, it was a nice walk through a park and if I remember correctly much of it is paved, so it's hard to call it a true hike. Physically felt more like 2.5 miles total. Still quite lovely, just depends on what you are in the mood for and it's a perfect place to introduce kids to hiking and nature!

Easy hike, and very beautiful. Went yesterday and got there at 6am, only saw a small group of people as we got back to our car. I recommend going early to beat the crowd. Quite a bit of snow still on the ground, but I managed to go through easily with a pair of nikes.

The perfect spot for a long walk and lots of waterfalls. We took our time and hiked this easy loop for about 3 hours.

Have done this hike many times and enjoyed it each time! A very fun short hike with a wonderful view!

Great trail for toddlers! The waterfall was huge and beautiful! The trail was muddy and wet.

Great for kiddos...my Love proposed here!

Beautiful stroll / hike!! So many beautiful boardwalks. Camp Alva is a wonderful, well maintained campground. I think I saw 3 sites total. There is a creek for water if you need. Hung out with a couple local deer and bald eagles. The hike on the beach and rocks went well since I timed it with low tide. It's a quick backpacking trip. Would definitely do it again!

Beautiful hike, think the distance was about 8.5 miles, but certainly didn't feel like that when there's beautiful waterfalls to see so frequently. Some parts of the trail were pretty muddy, so my waterproof hiking boots were appreciated (leave the runners at home)

Nice easy trail (little muddy in spots). Appreciated the suspension bridge and the waterfall.

Love this place! So beautiful.

Not a difficult hike at all. I did the 6 miles round trip, and it’s only 1k elevation change. The weather was amazing but they do call it hurricane ridge for a reason, it’s windy. Good amount of snow from the lodge to summit. Views are amazing, on a clear day, you can see Mt. Baker, Straight of Juan de Fuca, and awesome vistas from the Olympics. Highly recommend!!!

Holy cow! What a beautiful hike. The suspension bridge was amazing! Falls were absolutely stunning!

Why not spend the night?
We went up in late September and no one was around by the time the sun when down. There are some awesome camp site along the Exposed Ridge area, about 1/2 mile away from the Falls, right next to Ramona Creek.
This is an easy hike, nice areas to camp, and only 75 mins from Portland. Great for a quick, late summer get away.

Short easy hike. Very crowded. Amazing waterfall. In order to enjoy this hike, snow spikes or hiking boots for icy and snowy surface is required. In my opinion, snowshoes are a little bit overkill.

Really a gorgeous hike. Snow was covering the trail so leave your nikes at home and hike with good traction shoes. Spectacular view at the end of this trail!

Did the trail with 4 adults & 5 young kids. So fun. About an hour to there and and hour back. Beautiful perfect family outing. $5 day use parking fee. Don’t be fooled by long country road, this is a heavily used trail. Might want to come early so you can find parking.

It was a beautiful trail. Would love to go back in a few months to see all the wild rhododendrons in bloom.

I like this place because the waterfalls are pretty and they have a nice picnic area but ONLY if you go w/o a dog will you be able to enjoy going under the falls and the other fun trails because they aren't allowed. so if you have one you'll be stuck on only 1 trail that doesn't have very much scenery except trees and the road and maybe a top of a waterfall here and there it gets kinda BLAH after a while.

The water fall was really pretty and the view from the suspension bridge But this place gets SUPER crowded after a certain time so try to go as EARLY as possible because it just gets annoying when the crowd piles up.

My first hike. I’m not in great shape and found this trail to be relatively easy. Beautiful, peaceful, and perfect weather. Wasn’t busy on the Monday afternoon we went.

Beautiful hike would recommend bringing a map some of the trails are not naked very well did the maple valley loop too. The waterfalls were wonderful to see and the trail was well maintained even for winter.

Absolutely gorgeous hike. Lots of great people and friendly pups along the way. Snow was covering the trail, good shoes with adequate traction or shoe spikes would be a wise choice. Not deep enough for snowshoes.

I brought our middle school hiking club here. all were very happy. Some good challenging spots for the novice hikers and lots of natural beauty. trails we're muddy in spots as one would expect this time of year. and there were LOTS of other hikers on the trail. A great hike!
