a few too many road crossings for my taste. saw plenty of mule deer towards the begining of the hike. got a bit slippery with ice and snow which made it slow going.

lovely trail with a noice rock at the top pretty busy though

Definitely a tough one with the snow! Make sure to have snow pants and waterproof boots through it. At some points you’ll be hiking through knee deep snow. The top is well worth it if you’re determined enough to get through!

First 14 for us. It was a beautiful day but there was a lot of snow on the ground. It was slippery on the way down. We got an early start and beat the crowds. The trail was well marked and easy to follow. The trail starts out very easy and starting before sunrise was great. The elevation was a factor for us near the top, but it’s a great hike.

Great 14er with some amazing views. Best as a sunrise summit.

Possibly my favorite short hike in Colorado. Please stay on the trail and out of the water so we can keep this trail open.

Hanging Lake was stunning today! Rather steep and rocky but definitely worth the views all the way up. I am not super fit or out of shape (somewhere in the middle) and I was able to do it without too much difficulty. Bring water and snacks!
Also, be sure to see Spouting Rock! It’s a quick trail right before you reach the top of Hanging Lake. It’s a gorgeous waterfall you won’t want to miss!

Awesome hike great views along the way and is challenging hike. Steady elevation to the top. Reward on the way down, plus you can view the Continental divide view! Highly recommended this one!

nice short hike

Great climb. Went up 10/10/18, 3-6” of snow on the trail for the first 1.25miles. 1’ - 3’ feet! snow drifts from there on to the saddle. We were unable to make the peak due to conditions. Feet were soaked on the way down. 2hrs 50 mins up, 2hrs 10 mins down. Be smart. Be careful. We were the only car in the parking lot. Only ones out there.

An incredibly rewarding hike. Took about two hours there and back; beautiful range of scenery.

great views and rocky trail makes for low mud on the rare rainy days in BoCo.

The slope was very steep but the lake was amazing!

easy and beautiful

Would do this again.

Nice trail - moderately difficult. A lot of small rocks, so be sure to wear good shoes. Conditions today were very foggy so couldn't see the continental divide. The switchbacks were nice because you could see where you started from with each level. One section that wasn't very well marked was around the wooden bridge. Be sure to take the bridge and don't go towards the left which puts you under some metal bunker looking object and then into a very rocky section.

No rattlesnakes seen today, was probably way too cold / no sun for them.

My first 14er today at Mt.Bierstadt. It starts out not too bad, but I agree with these other comments, the elevation totally got to me and I felt like I had to stop constantly towards the steep part of the trail. Still feels like a great accomplishment! No mountain goats or any wildlife that we saw. Super windy at the top, so we did not stay long up there! With windchill I believe it was close to 15 degrees.

Great trail, gorgeous views. We went on a Monday morning in late September, arrived maybe 9:30 and had no trouble with parking and trail was not too crowded. It's very steep but not otherwise difficult. Took 50 minutes going up for two moderately- in-shape 50-something women, but I can see how when it's more crowded it will take longer, as you will have to keep stepping aside for people going up or down. Worth the effort!

This was my first trail & I loved it! definitely a good workout & we stopped at a couple switchbacks, but overall this trail made me fall in love with the hike!

Too crowded, really neat, should be renamed to hanging pond

great views, well groomed path

The fall colors are amazing on this hike!

A very misty morning hiked around 9:30 and saw 3 bear cubs.about 3/4 way up to top of trail. This trail is rated hard. The elevation and rocky trail makes it challenging but I wouldn’t say it was hard because you climb a little then it levels out . Definitely would do again on clear day and bring bear spray!

we did this hike today and it wasn’t too bad. it was pretty easy as far as the trail goes, but then the elevation was kind of an issue when you got asthma. nothing a puff can’t fix tho jaja.

the wind was wicked at the summit so we didn’t spend a lot of time there. the views were worth the work and dealing with so many people.

I like this trail so much that I hiked it twice in one week. The views are stunning. Shared the trail at 13,000 ft. with a mountain goat

My 1st 14er definitely tough the views were amazing throughout. the winds were super chilly at the top. definitely layer, coming down we saw a couple of people with minimal clothing. Don't underestimate this hike and be prepared.

Trail etiquette does not exist on this trail, bunches of white people.

So beautiful. We started at 10:30am and it took us about 6 hours. We had a little one on our backs so we took lots of snack/picnic breaks. Quite windy at the top so I recommend you dress accordingly.

Great day for a hike! Started later than normal- around 8:30. Parked on the road about 1/4 mile out from TH. Took ~2:15 to summit grays, ~45 to get to Torrey’s, and ~2 to get down. 5.5hrs total with 15min breaks at each summit. My GPS watch was closer to 8.5miles total. Gusty winds at times but I was prepared with layers. Trail wasn’t too busy and lots of friendly hikers. Definitely recommend a car with good clearance to get to TH- AWD. People were offering rides to those who parked further down the road or bottom.
