Hiking bucket list Map

Be aware that while the trail itself is moderate I believe the distance listed is way off. The map and description indicated a round trip distance of 4.8 miles but to get to the actual falls at the cliff it was 4.8 miles one way.

Great way to start the day, made it up in time to watch the sunrise.

Quite the workout during the last 1/4 way up. Busy trail with lots of people, but trail is wide most of the way so you aren't likely to be stuck behind someone very long. Beautiful Vista views from the top.

Nice trail system. Would like the trails to be marked better as it was a bit confusing.

Walked this trail on 12/6/18 , it was easy to get around and we really enjoyed it . We were the only one on the trail the whole time :) Parked at the Trading Post and started right behind it . Was hoping to buy a parking pass around there somewhere but we had to go to the visitor center ( not far from there ) and purchased one . We bought one with a military discount for a whole year . Great beginner trail as I’m trying to enjoy more of Georgia’s trails in the future .

This is a great trail every time. Crowded, but beautiful and a good workout.

Great weekend of hiking and camping. The trail was hard the weekend I went because of all the rain and slippery rocks and mud.

Love this trail! It’s really great from the East trailhead at lake Yonah damn. It’s a little more difficult and much less traveled!

Beautiful walk in the woods! The trees had awesome autumn leaf color (mostly the yellow colored leaves) which lit up the trail. Such a wide variety of fungi, too! There were ferns, moss, mountain laurel, rocks, wooden footpath bridges, creeks, a small waterfall, and I could go on and on. It took us 2 hours and 25 minutes to do the loop. We parked at No Name Parking Lot and started there and went down the main trailhead just a wee bit before we hit the crossroads to make our turn onto the loop. The trail is well marked, too.

Very nice walk. Hard but worth it. Can’t wait to go again.

Well maintained trail and highly trafficked. Would be nice for a trail run if not so crowded.

Pretty steep hike, not too bad. Very tough run

We hiked around Tallulah Gorge this morning and were a bit disappointed. Then I found Panther Creek using the All Trails app. Wow! Beautiful hike down to the waterfalls. So much better than Tallulah Gorge. This hike is a must if you are visiting Tallulah Gorge.

A must if you in the area. Multiple waterfalls and campsites along the route. Well maintained

Great hike, the vista is worth the hike up,lots of roots and rocks under foot

Love this park. Love this trail.

Byron-Reece to Freeman and then up the backside of Blood Mountain via the AT is the easier direction of travel. As other reviewers say, this is a challenge and took a solid 5 hours with stops for pics and lunch, but it’s a great hike in the fall/winter. Trekking poles will make life easier. Be sure to head east on the AT for about 100 yards at the intersection of Byron-Reece and Freeman to see the balancing boulder.

This is our new favorite waterfall trail. Several beautiful falls before the big one. Can’t believe how this little creek makes such huge noisy falls. Trail is easy, did some rock hopping to get up to see the falls come through the cliff. Didn’t climb to the top, that looked very steep and treacherous. Started around 10, lots of parking spaces. Finished around 1. Parking was scarce.

This is one of my N Ga favorites. Great views at the top, rugged trails, and always a few other happy hikers! All the trails are well marked and easy to follow, but it’s not just a nature walk so be prepared.

Had a great day. Beautiful scenery. Will do again in the near future.

Great workout ran up and ran slowly down felt great but crowded on the weekends. Beautiful had a great time with great people.

Really enjoyed this trail! Moderate elevation changes and great view from the top!

I rate it as a fast hiker expecting hilly trails. I usually go 2.5 mph on trails, I did this one at 3.5 mph so it is easy.
This one can be split into 2, the north trails and south trails.
The north is not really interesting, plus the vicinity of the 400 does make it noisy, so I will advise not taking it If you seek peace.
The south is more interesting, with spots for pictures and deers crossings (I saw 7 this Sunday).
Still it must be considered as an easy trait, not a moderate one.

Hiked this past weekend, super crowded day on the AT. Lots of people at all the overlooks. Looped back on the Freeman Trail which was far less populated.

Easily my favorite hike in North Georgia. Can’t wait to come back in winter and sit under the falls.

Nice hike and summit view close to Atlanta.

I loved the views on this trail. It was a bit rooty but not bad. I am new to hiking and did the trail with ease. To get the cave with waterfall tho is a boulder climb which may be where you turn around! The bathrooms tho were horrid I held it the entire time because of how bad they were.

Good trail. Nothing difficult in regards to terrain changes. Nice view at the top. Excellent fall colors for mid November.

Beautiful view, but no dogs allowed!!
