Fairly steep but great trail. Leave early to avoid the crowds.

First of al, if you follow the recording provided by this trail information (the loopI), you won’t find the peak. And do remember to drive up counter-clock wise, until you see the trail entrance to your left that is off the road. We hiked this trail by following the recording a loop but couldn’t see the trail head, then turn back to by following the cold creek trial said by the recording. But it was not worthy to came back that way. The cold creek trail was totally over grown.

Next time we would just drive up the road until we see the entrance then walk up and pass the PCT sign then come down the same way. When we got up and saw the sign of PCT trail, my husband just gave up and wanted to get down, but it was definitely a mistake. For the scene, I would definitely try again next time.

Good exercise, and great for your first trail run. Really crowded trail. If you are interested in great views it is better to go elsewhere.

Jolie balade dans difficulté. Comptez une heure A/R. Quelques passages un peu glissants sur quelques slickrocks (il pleuvait un peu) mais rien de méchant. Peu de monde sur le parcours. Très beaux paysages.

short, but steep hike for conditioning purpose. did it non-stop and took about 50 mins at my pace with a group of friends going up.
the view is good, both from cherico point and poo poo point which is further up.

parking lot is free. took 25 mins from bellevue. great location and great trail.

Short but sweet hike and wow! Evolving views all the way to the end. The bridge is impressive as are the rest of the geological features. We arrived early enough to avoid the heat and were happy for it. Not many on the trail by 8am.

favorite local walkabout

Need more trail markers , otherwise beautiful trail

Good hike.
A LOT of people thought so.

Good exercise, parking was full at 9am but overflow for $5 was nearby and empty at that time. Dog friendly on leashes.

The bridge is amazing. The rocks along the trail are also featured.

I hiked this trail in the morning alone. The shadow made the scene be kind if mysterious. Great experience!

One of my favorites for shorter hikes.

It’s all worth it at the top, we were lucky to see many paraglider last weekend.

This hike is not for the faint of heart. It’s very difficult, but the views are breath-taking. We started at the tram trail (2.5 miles) which then connected to the La Luz Trail so we did about 10 miles total including the trek to the Tram. This is definitely not a hike for beginners, but is a great challenge. We did this hike in preparation for Wheeler Peak in September. If you hike this on a weekend and ride the tram down expect to wait about 45 mins or more to get on a tram back down the mountain.

A first for me today.... no not the trail running....
But the BLACK BEAR I ran into near the top!
Let’s just say my run time down was a personal best!

Beautiful hike with a scenic surrounding everywhere you are. The path is a little less defined in some places so keep an eye out for cairns to stay on the path. It is very exposed so plan out your water and time of hiking carefully. It is not a hard hike, it is perfectly moderate and the incline is very doable.

Great trail.

Stunning and not that hard. A great place to sit and rest and enjoy the views midway through - good picnic spot.

1st hike of the year. Steep but fun. beautiful views if Issaquah and Mt. Rainier

Fairly easy trail with some elevation- beautiful views and interesting perspectives on several canyons. we continued to the Navejo Knobs trail which was an additional 7 kms and offered spectacular panoramic views at much higher elevation. If you can manage the extra time and elevation the additional views are well worth the effort!

Probably the best hike in New Mexico! Start as early as you can to beat the heat.

Awesome hike! Good steady incline all the way up with a terrific view. Careful on the way down as it can get slippery.

Such a great hike. Bring hiking poles as it can be slippery in places. we started pretty early and the ground was a bit damp. By time we came back down- there was no parking and super crowded. If you want to watch the paragliders but are not able to hike too far- there is a shuttle to take you to the top and back down. had a great time. We even hiked with our bulldog.

pretty hike with lots of shade. found the trailhead fairly easily but the sign is slightly off the road a bit so keeping an eye on your odometer for 3.5 miles off the exit ramp helped. while parts of the trail are heavily overgrown it's easy to see where the trail goes and.the overgrowth doesn't extend too terribly far each time. would definitely recommend wearing long pants and having some bug spray or some type of repellent because the mosquitos and other bugs swarmed as soon as you stopped. once you get to the PCT it's fairly easy hike and well signed. loved the large amounts of shade and to avoid hiking back to the car on the dusty gravel road, cut back to the trail (which added some more distance) but was much nicer.

Difficult but the views make you forget about all of that. beautiful wildflowers along the path and we were greeted by a cute bunny. there's a rock formation that reminded us of a thumbs up and it helped us press on.

First hike I’ve taken in years. It’s defiantly a challenge because of how quickly the elevation rises. I became slightly dizzy at one point and took a 10 minute break. The most important part though is to keep moving. It certainly isn’t an easy hike.

I forget which trail we took because there were two paths. I think we ended up on the back side of the mountain because we never saw the tram. Either way me and my mate managed 5.13 miles in a 3 hour 15 minute hike. There are portions that have nothing but gravel in ridiculously steep areas, so proper footwear is an absolute must. Also beware that cacti is abundant across the trail. I accidentally slipped and my hand landed right on top of one.

In the end, I’d do it again. The trail offered incredible views and is certainly offers a true hike. Not for beginners in the slightest bit.

The map that is associated with this hike takes you to the straight up and back, not the loop. We didn’t make it to the top as it started to get really hot and we knew we entered from the wrong trail head. Discovery pass is required which we didn’t know being new to the area. It was a beautiful hike but water was dried up. Not a soul on the trail which was a little strange but all in all it was a good work out if nothing else.
