The driving up the mountain is beautiful. The trails are great. Most are not marked well but I don’t think you can go wrong on any trail. The trail by the stream is awesome. Best hiking trails I’ve been on!

We drove to the bottom of the switchbacks which is where you would need 4-wheel drive to continue up. The grade of the trail was good because of all the switchbacks. If you don’t plan on continuing your hike once you get to the top of the falls I would suggest you turn around at the lower view point. There is not anything to see at the top of the falls.

loved it absolutely worth it very intense

Was a beautiful evening to hike and was fun for my whole family! Was easy to access beautiful views of the falls without having to hike too long.

Very nice. Pretty populated while I was there, unfortunately.

A great place for a quick trail run. Challenging, but you wont die.

Had an amazing time today hiking the upper Fish Creek Falls!! Completely worth it! It’s rated difficult and that was fairly accurate for a few portions, (although that rating seems a little strong for the trail overall). I saw several people hiking without a water bottle and that isn’t wise at all, especially on a day as hot as today was.

Loved it! It was nice and serene. It wasn’t too busy at 8:30 am but coming down I noticed it started to get a bit more populated. Once back to my car the lot was full (both top and lower). I had a good hike and will come back again.

I took my 7 and 10yr old on this trail. It was a nice shaded trail, the girls enjoyed playing in the water along the way. Lots of traffic

Great trail that gets your heart rate going and wonderful views. Went up the castle trail up to walkers dream trail and took turkey trot on the way down. Saw a deer on the way. Effort to views was ideal

Just enough up an down for a good hike - though I'm pretty sure, going counter-clockwise, there was more up than down - not sure how that happens. Beautiful views. Early in the am not too many others out there with me and the pups. Enough shade and sun to give us a wonderful walk through trees and meadow.

Fabulous little hike! The stream that flows along the trail was beautiful! Loved the shade and clean, well maintained trails!

Great morning hike. Good 8 mike hike! Great views, wild flowers and decent climb. Decently traveled today with a lot of mtn bikers and hikers.

Picked a good time to go in the afternoon. No storms, plenty of parking, and few people. Good workout and great views. We went on a pretty warm day. Seeing the pools under the waterfall made ya want to try to jump in.

I’m from Northern CA, elevation 700, and had 3 days to adjust to the higher elevation. My husband and I started at 5:55am, it took 85 minutes up. I took my time due to the elevation... and my slight fear of heights. We jogged the trail down, which took 60 minutes. It was a challenge but totally worth it. Start early, lots of water, and enjoy the beauty this adventure has to offer. Anyone in good health can accomplish this trail, pace yourself, everyone was super friendly on the trail. One of the best adventures!

This hike is absolutely fabulous. It is incredibly steep getting up to mile 2 - by far the toughest stretch of trail we hiked on our visit to the area. But once you get past mile 2 and the short distance through the saddle, the trail is flat and the views are raw beauty - the Rockies at their best. The lake color is spectacular. We enjoyed this more than the Ice Lake trail (which was also great).

A tip that we figured out the hard way: The road to the trailhead is a narrow “4x4 only” road. If you dare drive up the road anyhow, there is only room for 2 cars along the side - and if those spots are taken, there is not a good place to turn around. The easiest thing to do is park at the bottom of 679 after you cross the one lane bridge (by the camp sites), then hike up the road to the trail. The trail itself is 6.4 miles - adding the hike up the road made the total trip ~8.7 miles.

Amazing workout! This one is TOUGH! But felt like a great accomplishment when you hit the top. Be sure to bring water. Did this one with my kids 13 and 16. We all loved it.

Great trail with access on the west and east ends. West end is a more gradual slope–perfect for kids. The east end has great views towards Morrison, Downtown Denver, and Red Rocks.
We hiked from the west end of the Castle trail out to the old ranch house and cornerstone of the attempted Summer Whitehouse. On the way back we added the Meadow and Tower trails to the south to form a loop.
If starting in the morning from the west, I would recommend the reverse: Meadow, Tower, then Castle. (Castle Trail is shaded whereas Meadow is not)
Good map in this app, but maps available to print by searching “Jeff Co Open Space Mount Falcon Park.”

I love how challenging the incline is! I did it back in November when I was in town and it was even better this time (mainly because I wasn't fooled by the false summit!!). I coincidentally started after the thunderstorms went through which was nice since it cooled it off and cut down on the dust. Shout out to the guy behind me who kept me going at a pretty challenging pace! Enjoy the challenge, it's 110% worth it!!

Great hike and great fun. Moderate to difficult west to east but worth every bead of sweat.

What a workout! Take it slow and steady. Start very early, or you'll get baked by the sun. I started at about 520am and the sun was already eating at my back halfway up. Take as many breaks as you need to catch your breath. Felt the pulse from my neck around step 1700 or so. Towards the top my goal was to take 20 to 25 steps between breaks. Made it to the summit in a decent 1h 16m then took Barr Trail down. Lots of runners (both directions) and a few mountain bikes to contend with, making it a little dusty. Not very well marked so keep this app handy, however most side trails lead back to the main. Barr Trail has tons of small rocks. If you so much as drag a toe, you'll have rocks in your socks and shoes. I plan on doing this trail more, so gaiters are a good idea. You get humbled real quick when some people blow by you up the incline!

Pretty good hike, it's fun to explore the whole area. Meandered through and went on other trails here and spend about 5 hours here. Moderate hiker.
Devil's Elbor was a nice addition.

One of my favorites as a local! I used it as a afterwork delight hike up the steep incline and run down. Incredible views of the town. Everyone is friendly and dog friendly. Plus it’s a loop and there are options for more hikes!

Hard hike and great workout. Literally straight up. Sometimes I had to get on all fours to keep climbing. Beware the false summit! The view at the top is awesome and you feel like a badass after completing. Definitely take the shuttle and don’t try to walk back down the steps. So hard on your knees! Just take the trail down, it’s more fun!

We started east to west and definitely hit the hardest parts first. Beautiful view of the city. A fun little hike.

This trail is super pretty! When you drive up to Helen Hunt Falls, the very top parking lot is pretty crazy. I parked at the lower one and hiking up the road about 1/2 a mile. A really nice gradual incline hike.

This trail is a tough one, but so rewarding. A word of caution, take care of your knees on the way down.

Get into the parking lot early! You need to walk a little over a 1/2 mile to get to the trail. The trail is NOT marked as 7 Bridges Trail, It is marked as Trail 622. Beautiful hike along a beautiful river with waterfalls throughout. It is uphill all the way, bridges clearly marked. Starts off fairly easy and gets more rigorous as you progress.
