Hiked Sunday 10/14/18. Absolutely beautiful hike! It snowed the whole time! It does get windy and chilly at the top. Some of us did wear spikes and others didn’t, no one slipped! I would say it’s a moderate hike/nice workout if your an experienced hiker! Picture ops around every corner!

NIce trek out to the falls this morning. In from Boston on a pleasure trip. A LOW comes in and drops some precipitation you will need snow shoes. Do it while you can.

Hike with the family. Had a bit of snow and slippery patches towards the top. View is good

Really beautiful hike. It had snowed the night before and all the trees were heavy w powder, which was coming down in chunks as the sun came out. There is a rocky traverse near the upper falls, which other than some snow and ice falling off the sides, was fine and easy. No crampons needed. Gaiters are recommended but not necessary.

Mentally and physically challenging!! Don’t give up, best reward is to get to the top!

Well marked and great views. Great trail to see some wildlife if the right time of year.

Don’t give up! It is the best feeling ever when you get to the top❤️

Love this hike!!

Nice steep incline to start and great views! Not crazy packed and met nice people along the way! I’ll be back because it’s only 27minutes from where I live in Denver!

So much fun!!!

Great hike and great views. Finding a path up past the glacier was a little hard in the dark, but after getting through that part, the trail is well worn and easy to follow.

I went last week. Weather was perfect. If you don’t have 4WD, turnoff the highway and go down the hill. Park after the bridge and hike up to the trail (~1 mike).

Trail is steep for the first 2 - 2.5 miles once you get to the trail head. First 2 miles are a series of switch backs and then you climb uphill after that. Once you reach the top of the hill, you descend a bit and it flattens off until you reach the lake where there is a slight uphill.

The lake is gorgeous! It’s much bigger and less populated than Ice Lake.

Careful going down. The trail is steep and covered in loose rock. I had hiking poles and went slow but still managed to totally wipe out a couple of times.

The hike was great but the scenery leading up to the lake was okay (Ice Lake was better). The lake is surrounded by mountains so you also don’t get a view of the mountains like Ice Lake.

10 miles if you park after the bridge and 8 if you start at the trail head.

Just hiked it today. Very pretty trail with a good size aspen grove at the end. The leaves will be gone soon. Some of the trees are already bare. Hurry if you want to see them. The trail is definitely moderate with one pretty sketchy spot if you continue past the last bridge. You won’t like that part if you’re not too crazy about heights. Lots of slippery loose gravel. It’s more like 5.8 miles there and back if you keep going to get to the aspens.

A BEAUTIFUL hike. The trees and views are beyond stunning along the entire path and it’s an amazing lake. Pretty populated in the early afternoons but the lake is big enough to have some alone time at the top.

It was a strenuous hike due to its length and the steep incline at the end, but great for anyone looking for that “We made it!!!” feeling. I recommend taking the time to hike around the lake to see the flowers, plants and wildlife.

Great for those wanting a wholesome Colorado nature experience.

Easy hike cool that it’s close to red rocks can hear a little bit of music if something is going on there

great hike! we beat the crowds and hit the trail by 6am. The 'glacier' was really crowded when we got down around 11 am. Also, I lost a unigear microspike near the summit. If found please contact garethdickin@gmail.com!!

EPIC!!!! There is really nothing I can say, nor are there pictures I can show that will accurately describe this hike. You just have to go and see it for yourself. Such an amazing lake, even more beautiful than Ice Lakes. There are plenty of peaks all around Columbine Lake to summit and you will see other lakes as well as gorgeous mountain ranges that seem to go on forever.

As others have mentioned, be prepared for a grueling first 2 miles. The switchbacks are steep and feel like they keep going, and then when you get out of the trees you will see how steep and high of a mountain you have to climb, basically straight up. After that, it’s nice and easy hills with spectacular views before you hit the last little incline that takes you to the lake. Get through those 2 miles and you will be rewarded with an experience that is unrivaled.

Went on 9/29/18 and the weather was gorgeous. Bring layers. Gets hot on the hike up and can get a little windy at times. Never needed a jacket, just one long sleeve to go over my short sleeve when it was windy up top. Mostly just had hiking pants and a short sleeve tee on.

We loved this trail!! We are not used to doing trails like this because we are from Oklahoma, but loved the length and it was a great workout!

I'd rate the trail between moderate and hard, some parts pretty steep, others a little rocky, but definitely doable with a little experience. Both the upper and lower falls were nice, albeit pretty tame after seeing St. Francis falls in Glacier last month. Hiked about a mile above the 2nd falls: fantastic views and great color.

Absolutely stunning due to all the aspen trees. So incredible! Trail is well paved, not too rocky. Certain parts are a bit rocky and the switch backs get steep at the end. All worth it! Enjoy!

If you aren't used to the altitude or a high cardio work out, this is a ass-kicker.

Hiked this trail today. Trail maintenance group were working on the trail which is very well maintained. As Ashley Reed pointed out last week this trail us NOT marked as Seven Bridges Trail, but as Trail 622. Trailhead is about a mile up Gold Camp Road from the final parking lot above Helen Hunt Falls. We only hiked up to Bridge #7, but others coming down from the top of the trail said the aspens were peak. North Cheyenne Creek runs all along the trail with several small falls. Beautiful trail, great day!

Nice hike. No big cats seen this morning, and no one at the falls for over 1/2 hour. People often think hike ends at base of falls, by huge boulder but then there’s a short, but steep (10 mins) trail to the actual falls, which are beautiful with gorgeous views of mount Sneffle. Aspen colors are beautiful right now!

Great trail with mixed terrains. Both waterfalls are pretty low on water, and so are all the lakes by Steamboat. We went to the upper Falls, you can add miles to the hike by going to Longs Lake.
I would rate this upper moderate rather than “hard”.
Overall beautiful hike in fall colors!

$5 entrance fee per car.

Nice hike only went to lower falls , trail was paved all the way . Will try upper falls soon.

Very good hike! Challenging but very rewarding. We went over labor day weekend so it was busy. Uphill the whole way made for a great workout. Would recommend!

Golden Gate Canyon never disappoints. Another awesome solo hike. Did entire Mountain Lion trail / Quarry Site / Tallman Ranch Loop. It was closer to 10 miles than the 7 or so originally listed including a few trail offshoots. The Aspen leaves are all just about to fall off and the yellows are peaking out right now. Once the sun went down it dropped from about 65 degrees to 39 degrees in about 10 minutes.

Great way to kick start the day! Beautiful fall colors and spectacular light on the mountain tops. Big Cat sighting on the trail by jogger in front of me, around 8am, top 3rd of the trail. Keep your eyes out!

Loved it! We missed the trail to the glacier while coming back down through the flat tundra area. And my phone died. Of course. We found a different way down and it was a super fun and gorgeous day!!
I found this peak quite easy and a pleasant workout aside from locating the glacier trail in the flats lol.
Views are stunning!
