Excellent workout. Not for dogs, small children, or a novice...your legs will be sore in the morning.. You will have to climb over large rocks/boulders. Great views. Lots of people. Wear proper shoes or boots. There is a place to eat and rest rooms.
Highly recommend.

The trail was very muddy and wet. It was not well marked, which made it hard to follow the All Trails map. The vistas were not that aesthetic, with houses and highways in view. This trail should be rated Moderate. I recommend going south at the start of the back loop. Overall, this hike was disappointing.

Well this was my first time at the falls, I went with my brother in law and nephew. Our plans were to take the shorter trail due to it getting dark so early again. We accidentally ended up in the lower parking lot and said the hell with it and took the longer route. First and foremost the extra hike was definitely work it. Just the few extra waterfalls on it alone are worth it.
Once we got to the loop it was beautiful, but holy steps Bat-man!! lol. It was a hike up hill. Since we had some snow recently it was definitely very dangerous in spots, I understand why they have so many warnings posted.
Over all, with the careful footing for to the ice and the MANY pictures we stopped to take, the whole trek took us 4.5 hr's. And we finished just in time as the sun was going down and the rain began.
Overall a great first time experience at Rickets Glenn. We must have discussed or future trips back half a dozen times over the hike.

Amazing views on this trail! Be sure to check when it’s closed off if you’re traveling during the winter months!

Great Hike with plenty of variety and fantastic views.

Hiked up to the summit with snowshoes the day after thanksgiving. This was our first time using snowshoes, and it took us much longer to summit than had we used spikes.

Trail is well marked. Switch backs make the trek to summit tolerable. A bit slick in spots later in the trail. Views are incredible.

Amazing in the winter.

My son took me out on Falls Trail the day before Thanksgiving. He is an experienced climber and guide and I learned a lot about hiking in winter. We were the only people on the trail and got to see the falls in a pristine snow-covered setting. Unbelievable. We went to Waters Meet and then turned around, as it was pretty strenuous for me. It was incredibly beautiful.

I didn't hike. It is closed for the season. like chained off. You would have to break in to hike.

I’m an older hiker and found that the steep southern ascent after the rock scramble challenged me. About 500 feet in .3 miles, stone stairs. Younger hikers should find it steep, but not as tiring as I did. Going to do it again, hopefully easier next time around. Views are ok, not spectacular, since this isn’t wilderness and you can’t get that sense of isolation from the views. The waterfall is hyped, but still nice for what it is. Best part was a flat walk going south after the rock scramble, through a field of river reeds. Beautiful there.

11/17/18 - fun hike, definitely glad to follow the route here and save cascade for last as porter was great but much less climactic. Lots of wind at the top of both so either don’t spend more than a minute or be prepared. Brought along snowshoes because we were told by a worker at EMS that you can be fined for not carrying/wearing them but we just carried them the whole way and wore crampons and gaiters. Mountain got fresh snow the day and night before but by 9 am the trail was pretty packed down. Started later than we would have liked and ran into 2 or 3 10+ groups so if you want solitude definitely go early. Make sure to constantly take sips from your camelback to keep it from freezing! Especially when up on the summits. Started around 9:10, stopped multiple times for food/equipment/layer changes, flew down after both summits and got to the car around 3:00.

Love this trail. Hiked twice — once in the spring and once in the middle of summer. Would like to try again in the fall. Can be very crowded, but the falls are breathtaking and worth it. Good idea to bring bug spray on this hike during the summer.

Awesome trail! Make sure to wear the proper shoes though!

Gonna be honest: in the end I loved this hike. But at first, it was VERY difficult to find the correct trail and I wasted about an hour along with another group trying to find the correct way to High Point. I’m sure it’s easier to find outside of fall, but with leaves covering EVERY path, it’s super hard to determine what’s actually a trail and what isn’t. I would recommend just walking up Snake Den rd until you get to the trail head which is an Info Stand (not the one in the parking lot). The actual hike can be treacherous if you aren’t skilled at climbing over rocks and definitely wear good shoes or you’ll have a rolled and/or broken ankle in no time (especially on slippery leaves or mud)

Agree 100% with the reviewer below me. Awesome hike, but be careful after rain and do not bring your dog. My dog is like a mountain goat and we even had to sit down a few times to catch our breath and make a plan for our next step. Solid ground felt incredible after that hike!

Just a gorgeous trail... lots of varied terrain that’s challenging but do-able. Especially beautiful in late May/early June, but gorgeous all season long.

Beautiful views!

CAUTION: There are confirmed rock avalanches after rain!

We started on the Long Path Trail and headed down to the rock scrambles that are over a mile long. You will climb, get on your hands and knees, sit on your behind and slide down boulders to get through. There's no question that this is appropriately marked as hard.

Please leave small children (under 12) and dogs at home. We saw plenty of both but we also saw plenty of dogs that were terrified to keep going forward and had to be carried making it dangerous for owners and their fur babies. We also saw fearless children enjoying the boulders but also some driven to tears by fear, too.

The climb back up is challenging since it is steep. We went peak fall so the leaves on the ground made everything slippery. Bring PLENTY of water and wear proper hiking shoes. Hubby went with sneakers and regretted not putting on hiking shoes.

Awesome hike and the description is absolutely true !!!

This is obviously a great hike, though it can be crowded at times. Awesome falls just about the entire hike. It took us about 4 hours to do the loop on a less crowded day. It can be slippery so use caution. Must do hike and IMHO late October early November is the best time.

Would definitely do clockwise, great views from cliffs as you walk down . Those views won’t be there on hike up unless trees are bare . Hiking shoes a must for rock scramble. Definitely add the women’s federation monument. Great view and a cool little castle.

We took 2 and half hours. We could enjoy whole trail. Recommend to go in fall. trees are so beautiful :)

this is an amazing hike, especially the first 3 miles which is where all the elevation gain is and where you are mostly walking along the ridge. there is rock scrambling at the beginning and starting at around the 2.5 mile mark, and it is almost vertical in parts - but all the views are totally worth it! and hardly any other hikers! the second half of the hike was pretty in parts but there is atleast a mile of stream walking which was a little annoying. you definitely need good waterproof boots. all in all a fantastic hike and we look forward to doing it again.

Was a great hike went yesterday with two friends and it was awesome -“the view”. Those boulders were tricky but if you’re up for a challenge and beautiful scenery do it.

So I started this trail as a first timer and failed to do the proper research. Went in search of a good trail run but got about half trail run half sideways rock scramble. Did have great views and did get a bit dangerous as the leaves had just fallen from the trees and it had rained the night before. Most certainly not a run unless your looking for a spartan like challenge

Beautiful trail! Well maintained and marked. Highly recommended!
