Good hike for a family. Beautiful scenery and good for bikes as well. There were also restrooms along the way. However, the signs and path were confusing at times.

Loved it. Very easy hike even for a beginner like me. Parts of it are steep but I went up and down in like half an hour. Good for a nice workout.

Though we've walked this trail many times, this is the first time we stayed past dark. It's amazing to watch the city light up after dark. It may be a good place for stargazing too. Keep in mind in the summer, since it gets dark later to park in the right spot so you don't get ticket. After 10pm they issue parking tickets of $30. (Which rise all the way to $150 if not paid within a particular time period.)

Went hiking here on 7-21-18. It was a horrible hiking experience. Despite someone yelling at my dog and myself for allowing a dog on this trail even though they’re allowed, the scenery was not pretty at all. I’m sure it’s beautiful in the spring and the fall but not so much now. The trails were confusing as well. The hike (or more like walk) itself was fun and my dog had fun. Probably will never do this hike again.

I thought the view was great but there was graffiti and trash all over. Kind of disappointing. And, while labeled easy, it’s a bit of a uphill and not easy for many.

Great hike! At a quick pace it will take about 2 hours to complete.

Easy hike to the top at Ensign Peak! Beautiful views! A bit rocky but somewhat easy to navigate. Also a fun place to watch planes take off in the distance. Beautiful view of The Great Salt Lake.

Short and beautiful trail with lots of shade and a fun waterfall! The trail as a whole isn't steep however there are a few very steep spots. My 5 year old did great and our 2 year old was in a hiking backpack with no problems. The only downfall was the waterfall area is pretty small so it can get crowded and some people there had big dogs not on a leash (like they were supposed to) so that was annoying having muddy wet dogs jumping up on you.

LOVED this trail! Shade, off leash for dogs and a babbling creek the entire way for the kids and furry friends to play in. When we visit Utah again we will surely return!

easy for beginning bikers

Great place for dogs to play in the creek. I'd love for this to be a running trail, but it only goes back for about a mile before it's too sketchy to run anymore.

great for beginner/intermediate mtb. quick short and easy trails for after work

Usually it's pretty crowded. But a nice, quick, relatively easy hike to do after work with your dog.

This was a fun, quick hike that would be great for families, because there aren't any rocky/bouldered areas to negotiate, and the inline is really gradual. Certain areas were shaded, but others were fairly exposed to the sun and somewhat overgrown -- which worried me a little bit, because there are some prime rattlesnake spots, so do be cautious. It took us about an hour and forty minutes round trip, but we took it at a fairly quick pace, so I'd allot 2-2.5 hours for a more leisurely pace.

Fun family hike with mostly shade and some sun. Nice views and a great little break at a wild cherry tree.

This was a moderate hike with good shade. There are mountain bikers but we weren’t bothered by them. We took the dog who enjoyed the little steam and pond at the bottom. Great views at the top.

It's a short hike. Lovely view of the valley and great spot to enjoy sunset/sunrise.
However, there is always someone up there.

Great shaded hike. Kid friendly and easy for all.

The views are great, but it was hot out there! The terrain was a little rocky, which was murder on my ankles. Otherwise, it was a nice little hike. It may not be the best for small dogs, as mine got worn out.

Good hike for kids. Amazing views at the overlook.

Great hike for a beginner like me. The view of the valley at the top was beautiful! I started around 6:30pm and it was still pretty hot - there is little shade on the trail...

Amazing view. First family hike in Utah. Teenager was first up and first down. My youngest was a little nervous on the last part of the trail before the top.

easy trail, beautiful view!

Nice trail near Ogden, UT. Some parts are overgrown, but elevation climb is pretty good.

This was a really pretty trail, however it is not well marked. In order to actually see the pond, you need to go to the “Picnic Area”. There, you will see a nice view of the pond. If you go past that sign, you won’t really see the pond. It does lead to the ski trails which were pretty neat.

Short, steep, and not well shaded. Views of the city are GORGEOUS. Sunset or after dark are great times to go. Don’t expect to be alone. Took my 7 month old in a pack and he did great.

Beautiful views, clear trail. Easy if you have an hour or less and want a quick hike.

Was very confusing, really narrow parts and areas that crossed through the golf course. We started on 26th street is where we were directed from here. Was nice and shaded most of it, but there is so many forks and splits we didn’t complete it.

Short, steep trail with amazing view of the city. Fairly easy even for non prepared people.

Overall, a nice trail that’s not strenuous. The view at the end is a good payoff for your time. I’d suggest this as a good family hike, since little ones will probably be okay. The only drawback is that this trail seems to be very popular with mountain bikers and there can be a lot of traffic at times. There are sometimes a few that go too fast for the safety of hikers on this trail.
