Great trail, not too far from Philly.

It's an ok trail for hiking, great for mountain biking.

great trail for walking or biking.

Wonderfully fun climb in the gunks. Lots of rocks/boulders to traverse. The rock scrabble was fun but a bit challenging only because we got caught in a rain storm so it made the rocks slippery. There is one part that is very narrow and even with a tall slender frame it was a tight fit.
The hike started right at the mohonk mountain house. Since we were only going for the day hike (as opposed to staying at the house) they make u park about 1.5 miles away from the house. It’s also $26 pp which seems ridiculous to me. There are explicit instructions for day hikers that u aren’t allowed to even enter the mountain house. Overall though it was worth it.

Fun to see water in such a dry place. If only there were fish...

Beautiful easy hike in a valley full of rocks to be climbed!

Pretty well-shaded for the most part. Wide easy trails.

A rock scrambler's dream! So many rocks to climb along the entire loop...a ton of fun! The loop itself is not that amazing...pretty, but you follow a short path. Get off the trail and enjoy this wonderland.

great for kayaking

Loved the variety of terrain, a lake, castle ruins, views of Wanaque Reservoir and Appalachian foothills from high up near the water tower. This map will help you find your way: NYNJTC_NJParkMaps-RamapoMtn_2015-85x11.pdf

One of my favorite hikes in the Princeton/Hillsborough area. Easy to get to and beautiful trees, boulders, and view on the straight away down.

Good if you live in Fairfield County and don’t feel like driving too far to get into the woods for exercise...some broken glass at the only lookout spot, though.

Multiple trails. Lots of options.

Good trail for exercise, not much to see here. Yellow Trail follows Patriots path for a short distance.

Great area to hike and fish

A nice hike that doesn't take very long and offers some nice views of both the Joshua Trees and a lake/dam. The dam mostly dries up in summer but the area still remains greener than anywhere else in the park that I've seen and is certainly worth the hour or so that this hike takes.

For the most part this trail is easy. There are certain parts that have a pretty rocky and steep climb, but nothing that challenging. Not very scenic, but a nice starter trail if you are new.

A total blast. Makes me want to learn whatever kind of climbing this is (bouldering?). And the views!!!

incredible rock scramble. amazing views.

It’s a cool trail there are spots on the trail where the markers are confusing but really hard to get lost, just walk down hill to re orientate. I’ll go back because I wasn’t able to complete the full trail due to confusing trail markers I ended up taking a connection trail cutting about an 1hour of my hike short

Took the Old Mill Trail from the gravel lot on Deerwood Lane to the river crossing and then through the woods to the Quarry Trail. Stopped for lunch with hammocks next to the lake and followed Quarry Trail back along the lake and back onto Old Mill Trail. Old Mill Trail was pretty muddy after a heavy rain on previous day, but manageable with waterproof hiking boots. Not a very scenic trail, but wide and well maintained. Frequent horse manure. Saw a few fishermen and other hikers, but not many. Old Mill Trail had pretty wildflowers and butterflies were abundant. Even the walk back along the lake didn’t afford many views. Nice trail, with gradual inclines, but not much to see.

it's a small preserve with many trails varying by great amount. the trails even include some like climbing and spectacular views from the top of the quarry where the stone came from for the kensico dam.

Hiking, birding and geocaching what more does a little old Forester need

Really super nice trail. Maybe a little ambitious for a newbie like me, but well worth the effort. Someone mentioned a lot of sun. That was not my experience. There were small pockets, but even without sunscreen totally manageable. Really lovely views of the water from the trail.

can't beat the beautiful views and great scramble

Did this hike on a Saturday in June in the summer. It was super crowded which was annoying. The lemon squeeze part was a long line which seems to be the norm but it was frustrating and made me feel a bit nervous and rushed.

Great and local. As another commenter said, lots of bugs in Spring/early Summer. Almost none in fall.

Nice lake. Some rocks for kids to scramble up. Great vibe as other hikers share the road, parking lot, and trails.

beautiful, but the trail markings need work.

pretty good views. nice stream, good lake. the trails should be better marked, we ended up cutting off a third of the hike before we realized it.
