Hikes to do! Map

Great hike - can really push yourself and make good time up and down the trail. Good view of the valley and Canmore throughout. Incredible at the top, to peak over the massive cliff.
Tea house is interesting.
Done this hike a couple times.
Prepare for more exposure to the sun and heat than covered hikes

My first ever summit! So much fun in the snow. Slid down on our butts for half of the way down

Beautiful!!! But quite hard considering I’m out of shape & it’s up up up the whole way to the lake!!!! Worth it though!!!!

One of my favorite trails thus far. It requires a good push as most of the trail is on an incline. The view from the top is incredibly spectacular and beyond worth the struggle towards the peak.

We are not avid hikers and we still managed to complete the trail close to an hour and a half. It is so worth it!!!

We wore crampons and wished we had brought poles as well. However, we were hiking on a fresh batch of snow so poles are probably not needed when the path is beat down.

The weather at the top is quite chilly. We encountered a swift wind as we left the tree line to reach the peak. Prepare accordingly!

Absolutely amazing 360degree views from the peak! Great hike!!

First trail we took on our trip to Banff. What a way to start! So much for easing into things. The reward at the end was more than worth it. Tea was wonderful. The return trip seemed to be more difficult, but was worth every step.

Great winter hike. Snow was pretty packed down and not much ice.

Amazing hike, weather is getting warmer. Just be a little careful now , ensure proper gear is on hand.

Always love this hike in the fall but this was the first winter attempt and it was stunning. Lots of elevation over a short distance but the trail is well kept and easy to follow due to its popularity.

We had a south western wind so it got a bit unpleasant out of the treeline but it’s not far from the treeline to the peak. The winds made it so cold up there my iphone wouldn’t work, sapped the battery in about 2 minutes of photos. I’d recommend tech gloves, face masks and a charger pack to anyone else looking for some great shots at the top.

We wore spikes (small ones) and used poles and that was plenty of grip and stability. Otherwise it was a fantastic sunny day and a beauty of a mountain.

Trail is in good shape. Some people in boots have made the first bit rough but clears up soon. Beautiful views & no one else on the trail!

Such a rewarding hike.

Sunny but a bit cold at the top with the wind.
Challenging hike because of the snow, the last 200 meters are tricky.
Clits not essential but recommended.
Awesome views as soon as you leave the forest.

Nice view at the top. Good winter hike.

A must do hike if you are in the area
Moderately difficult but not very lengthy or too steep
Beautiful bamboo forests and one lovely banyan tree

Great trail diversity. Nice early climb through thick vegetation. Early sneak peak at the waterfall that is 1.8miles to go. Very interesting tree with many exposed roots. Then walk across a few bridges. Next is an amazing stroll through a bamboo forest. Be sure to stop and listen to the bamboo sway in the breeze! Once your out of the bamboo, just a little further and you reach the breathtaking waterfall! Go early, we started around 9:45 and had the trail practically to ourselves. We finished in about 2hrs (with stopping at the falls for about 10min) but my husband walks a fast pace. By 11:30 there were a lot of hikers getting started on the trail. This is one you can't miss! Enjoy!

Intense workout with a great reward at the end!

very challenging but once you get up there it is all worth the climb!

Great climb even with snow

If you're on this side of the park - this is a must. It's a nice hike through the bamboo, with a great waterfall at the end. We stayed in Hana the night prior and started this hike pre-sunrise. 1:45 for the hike, forgot my phone and couldn't record it.

Good, steep hike. 3 hours to summit and around 2.5 to decent. the views were decent.

Awsome Hike! - Complete January 21, 2018
Very cold at the top but worth it for the veiws! Easily do-able with crampons! To windy to walk along the ridge but will be back in the summer!

lots of snow during the second half but not an issue. take crampons just in case.

No wonder why everyone loves this hike. Fantastic views the whole way. Good physical challenge and a well worn path. A bit too busy for my liking especially on the weekend. Lots of fun.

good little scramble to the ridge

Love this trail for its elevation gain/switch backs that make you work thru the entire hike, also, love the option to hike down the backside of Sansen to the Cave and Basin to change it up on the way down. Extend the hike at the top by walking the boardwalk to the cosmic ray station. Amazing views of Banff are a nice bonus :)

Gorgeous hike with moderate incline mixed with flat areas through bamboo forests. Multiple waterfalls, all running pretty low from lack of water. The waterfall at the top though not overwhelming in its size is beautiful. Muddy/wet in only a couple areas. The raised walkways through the bamboo get a little slick even when not wet so be mindful of that. Overall a beautiful hike, nice shade coverage with the foliage.

Very cold the day I did it. In the trees it was so nice, I was peeling off layers. Beyond the treeline it was savagely windy and cold at -30. It was also snowing, so I'll have to go back on a clear day for the views. I had crampons, but never used them. Closer to the treeline, there were a few steep slippery spots. Well packed all the way.

I just did this hike on January 3rd. The trail was quite packed down. The way down was slippery.was pretty cold at the top. Make sure to dress properly for the weather. Great hike!

I've done it 4 or 5 times, one of which was on December 26/10! It's a switchback hike so not especially stimulating but it really feels great to summit this guy and overlook Canmore below. It's straight up with the top but all scree that is in slippery side but close to Calgary and safe to do on your own as there is almost always someone else on it.

Just did Ha Ling New Year's Day and trail was nicely packed making it impossible to lose the trail. No ice and not too slippery so spikes aren't completed necessary, but helped a great deal to keep up speed. Some fun sliding spots for the way down.
