I had fun with this one. There are a couple of paths you can take from the main one to the overlook--first one that goes down to the river, second one that goes up to the top of the bluff. The bluff section is a bit overgrown, but I think it adds a mysterious feel to the trail!

I went to the trail head in January 2019 and found that it was closed from November to March to avoid disturbing the eagle nesting habitat in the area.

Made for a really nice winter hike, great views of the lake and well-maintained trails through the woods. Pretty easy grades, mostly flat with plenty of benches to rest on. Beach access is nice too.

really nice place to go to for walks

Lovely hike to a great view. Took about an hour roundtrip. Part of the trail was iced over.

beautiful area! very dog friendly

I thought this was a great hike! Usually when they say moderate it’s because there is a bump in road... this was actually a narrow trail with ups and downs. I enjoyed it, but because it gets dark so early, I chose a shorter trail.... the brown. I will be back to do a longer one, hopefully in the near future and with more time on my hands!

Very crowded in the summer but if you can get to it in the spring or fall, you will not be disappointed. Views are stunning and the trail is relatively easy. Great spot for leaf lookers or family picnics. Their are no guard rails on the rock face so parents with small kids need to be aware and pay close attention.

Beautiful caves, great trails.

This park is beautiful. I will definitely be visiting again! Lots of caves to explore and it’s very well kept. Bring a head lamp if you’re going into the caves !

Nice trail around a small peaceful lake with a waterfall. I did manage to go off trail and we got very muddy but it was likely user error. nice mix of woodchip trails and wooden bridges. Would be great trailrunning practice loop.

Can’t get enough of this trail.

It’s open for 2018!!! New trails, steps, lights, bridges and boardwalks. Soooooo nice! Breathe in nature and bring a friend. Very family friendly!

This is probably one of my favorites. Family is from central Illinois found this trail on this website and tried it out! Great trails, beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Well mark trails. The parking lot is easy to access and close to the trail. I highly recommend this trail. Kinda muddy in some spots but it has just rained. Also when it did start down pour raining there was so many trees to that sheltered us from the down pour!

Side note: If you have kids that want to swim in the lake there is a part of the trail that takes you there! Take towels :)

Wonderful day hike. Wear hard sole shoes to help navigate the rocks. it's a shared path with bikers so be prepared to move out if the way.

Beautiful trail along the lake and cliffs. Fairly quiet on a weekend in August.

Beautiful, wooded, easy climb winding trail with great views at the top. Dog friendly. Gets a little busy at peak times but not too bad.

Nice trail to the top of a rock outcrop with a nice view. One loop is a dirt path; the other is asphalt and appears to be an old road to the top. The dirt path is nicer and easier on the knees. Next time I'd take that up and down.

Went here on the recommendation of a fellow dog walking friend and absolutely fell in love the restaurant place. Stunning views of the lake can be see throughout the trail and so beautifully maintained. The great thing is the walk down to the lake where lots of families picnic and enjoy their day. Dogs are definitely welcomed on leash and the best part is that when the wind is coming from the east the lake trail is actually much cooler and for a mountain dog owner who hates any heat this makes a huge difference.

The view at the top was amazing! The trail was steep and we had to navigate around two huge trees that had fallen across the trail. There also was a lot of erosion. Even though the trail needed some work the view at the top was worth it

Gorgeous trail- best in fall and winter!

Well maintained

Love this place, hike up top for a gorgeous view of the lake and then take the stairs down and see how close to Port Washington you can go.

We LOVE this 3 mile loop! Beautiful vistas, wood boardwalks through the marsh, bridges, well maintained and labeled trails through the woods (accessible trails marked), stairs down to Lake Michigan and wildlife/flowers everywhere! I hiked this with my 8, 12 and 14 year old girls. They loved it, too! We went on a Thursday afternoon and we passed several hikers, dogs and joggers on trails and beach. Bugs were as you would expect for a June Wisconsin day. Bug spray helped. Parking lot close to well marked trails. Easy to find. Bring a camera - the views are incredible!

It is probably beautiful, but it is apparently closed for construction.
