Short hike of a trail along the edge of the falls.

great workout or beginner family hike with nice view.

Beautiful trail. Starts to the left of the parking lot. Very fun to hike with snow at the top, would definitely recommend chains. The views were incredible and well worth the hike.

This was a great hike! It was a little tough to tell which season Mother Nature had in mind, lol. About half way up, spikes were VERY handy! The summit was windy and cold, but oh so majestic with ice and snow and bluebird skies! I didn’t consider this an overly difficult hike...moderate at best and perfect for what I needed! I WILL be back!

Unbelievable views from the fire tower, but we definitely regretted not bringing crampons to help scale the icy 30% grade sections. The incline is constant, but not too difficult, especially considering our frequent brakes to look at the amazing views. There were about 5-6 inches of snow on the top but it was easy to climb without getting too cold.

Awesome!

Even in early November there was still quite a bit of color. Tricky to find the start of the trail but once you do it the trail is well marked with yellow dashes. Going down was more difficult to me with the slick rocks, I fell 6 times, but it was the day after a moderate rain. Amazing views and a great first New England hike.

Awesome hike!

Beautiful falls for sure, and a decent hike, absolutely on the beginner to easy spectrum. Gorgeous fall hike, kid friendly (four year old loved it).

Ring trail still in good shape late October; rocks, roots, & mud appear to be the reason for the moderate rating. 2 mile trail at an easy pace, just over an hour.

Wow! What an amazing hike! Absolutely beautiful country. Was interesting with the ice and snow, but was so worth it!

Boulder Loop is a great intro to the White Mtns. The solidly moderate 900' ascent and gentle descent are a good workout, rewarded by spectacular views from the ledges up top. Our knees hurt the next day - but we're getting old. ;-) Hiking shoes and trekking poles advised.

Great views at the top.
This isn't an easy hike, there's quite the elevation gain, and it's just up, up, up. However, I wouldn't categorize this hike as "hard" in terms of terrain difficulty. Most of the terrain is pretty easy to climb, even the day after a big rain storm, but there was nothing slippery. Nothing that seemed that dangerous or treacherous. I was glad to have my trekking poles on the way down, but most other hikers I saw did not have them.

A very satisfying hike. Not to challenging, but is a steady uphill hike. At the summit you’ll find lots of cool information like guides about the wildlife and trees/plants. Nice views too.

beautiful short hike with amazing fall at the end!

We had a wonderful hike with our pup. Not too easy. Not too hard. Good investment in time. Outstanding views from the top. Could have stayed up on the ledges for hours.

We had a nice little walk up the trail with our pup. The area had gotten a little snow, earlier in the day. We went up the Black Cap trail and down the Black Cap Connector. Views near the top were good.

dog loved it

A lot of rocky ground. If raining can be hazardous.
Good 360 view at the top.

Really enjoyable hike. Hard on the way up and slow on the way down, but worth it. With a heavy backpack took about an hour and a half each way. Be sure to pack your water if you plan to camp, the only water source is a small stream at the very start of the route.

We do this hike about ten times a year. The trail is a great morning get away. Only negative is to those of you that can't respect to dog leash rule, this weekend was a mess, enjoy the forest,,, respect the humans.

What a view! Rocky, with boulders, and roots make this trail interesting. A few steep spots but overall steady inclines. It was hard to leaVe the ledges. The view was so beautiful. We had them all to ourselves on a Saturday, after 3:00. You have to go back to the trail each time you go explore the ledges.

Really nice hike with great views. Major bonus that its dog-friendly. After doing this “moderate” hike, I’ll never do a “hard” one :) it was challenging! Steep and rocky, but the 360 view from the top made it all worth it.

Nice, easy little hike; beautiful boulder small-waterfall section at the end with a nice little swimming hole.

great short walk with beautiful views

This was a fun hike, trails are well maintained and blazed, until you get about 200 yards from the summit and the blazes are on rock and rather hard to find but makes for a fun climb. would rate it as moderate.

Fun hike

Not one of my favorite hikes. Almost every step was on/around/over a rock or stump. Very rarely did my feet actually touch the ground. That made it a very difficult walk. There were a few places where the trail was poorly marked. The view at the top was beautiful, but the rest of the hike wasn’t picturesque.

Excellent trail - wonderful 360 view from top.
With lunch break just under 4 h return.

Moderately easy trail with amazing views from lookouts along the way to the summit.
