Wanted to check somewhere out closer to home. There were some lovely views along this hike...I loved the rushing water under the bridge. Overall I was trying to find Woodburn Falls but found it a bit confusing based on the signage. Never did find it but I still enjoyed my time. The trail had a lot of dog waste along the path and the paths were rockier than I anticipated.

Beautiful wooded hike. I found maps a bit confusing at first but found my way around. Really could have spent all day there. My dogs were well exercised when we got back to the car. Beautiful day.

i gave it a 3 but i think it should be more of a 3.5. For being so close in the city it is really nice. it is pretty busy on a September Saturday (not unexpected) I had to park a quarter mile from the trailhead. As there is space for only about 25cars in the lower area where you can park. The lower area is pretty through Mccleary park. This area follows a stream and had nice water features. There was however plenty of trash and it really bothered my daughter. Also as there were plenty of dogs someone couldnt be bothered to bring their crap out. I agree with the assements about the first 1.5 miles up being easy and the next 1mile being moderate.

trails are not marked besides trail head. and WARNING SPOTTED a cougar at the trail split at 745 am the other day

flew in from Tulsa today and fell in love with this trail. I came back out of the trail head just at full dark and it was perfect.

Beautiful views. Clearly blazed or marked. Enjoy Redwood Deck. Hills are moderate.

Much of this trail is paved and level, making it accessible to those in wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

Great trail, the map can be a bit confusing at times, but it the trails are all maintained, and the views are fantastic.

GPS came in at 4.5 miles, took us about 1.5 hours to complete.

Be aware, parking can fill up by 10am on a weekend and there are lots of trail runners out here.

Love this area. Shaded, not a flat trail in all areas but plenty. Has some gentle hills to work on the heart rate. Beautiful place to put in a few miles.

Kicked my a** lol

Well maintained trail in the heart of PDX. I prefer early as the trail is open at 5 AM. Nice and quiet then.

Nice moderate hike. A good hill climb in the middle but mostly even through the rest. No views to speak of but you are deep in the woods. Very nice escape!

If anything, this is more of a nature walk than a hike, but well worth it. If you do the round trip, it's about 6 miles, which is a decent calorie burner even without any noticeable elevation gain. But if you were coming here, it wouldn't be for that, it'd be for the wonderful walk or bike ride on a paved trail that parallels the path of Salmon Creek. While you're not directly alongside the river at all times, it's always within earshot and accessed by walking a few yards down one of the dozens of side trails that offshoot from the main trail. You'll walk through forest, field and everything in between. Great way and place to relax amongst the elements. I'll be back.

I found this place thanks to this app. best place ever. so beautiful.

Love this trail, perfect hiking place for a hot day.

Enjoyed this hike. Peaceful and beautiful

Nicely maintained trail. Beautiful view at the top.

Great hike, although the amount of horse crap that is everywhere is pretty gross. Just be careful. Its literally everywhere.

Really great for a city trail. Good for trail running.

My favorite place on earth. I grew up literally next door and spend many hours here everyday for years. This place is my happy place. I know every trail and corner. Everyone should go here at least once. Also the other two places across the lake and ghost lake (fallen leaf lake)

Love this hike so much. It so secluded and a beautiful walk. Could spend all day here. The signs are a bit confusing at first but I do love it. The mill is always a great see.

We loved bringing our dogs here to enjoy this beautiful spot. I loved being nestled in all the nature surrounding me. We saw a coyote, it was near the trail by the farm but ran into the farm land when we came by. It didn’t run into the woods, just stood watching us. We saw tons of birds. Very nice place!

It was a decent trail but directions to get here are very confusing and we ended up parking on the side of the road. Just from walking the trail, it came through the university so parking there would have been much easier. Trail goes through trees but you also walk on paved sidewalks next to the roads/traffic. Busy trail.

Great place to take kids, see some horses and listen to the birds, see the beautiful trees and not too difficult. Beautiful place to use your imagination.

Nice evening with the family. We all made it down and back :-)

Good city hike. Wanted to stay close to city and get a good hike in, and this did the trick! The views from Pitock Mansion were great as well!

This trail has the coolest view of St. John's Bridge but it's a bit of a bummer that it's at the beginning. I still recommend this for anyone who is looking for a quick and fairly easy hike, but I'd say it constitutes as more of a nature walk considering there's no other noteworthy viewpoints or look-outs. At least you get the view of St. John's twice! It's great if you want to get out of the city and hike around some nature for a bit without driving an hour and a half outside Portland.
