We hiked this trail straight off the plane (not the wisest move) from flatland on a sunny warm day, but thankfully there is a lot of shade along the trail. Every now and then we were unsure of which direction to go, so a little more signage would be good. But since the trail is well-traveled we were with the same groups of people most of the way up and down which was comforting when we were unsure. At least we were not alone if we took a wrong turn. Worth the work. Take plenty of water. Dusty and challenging.

Mountain biking on odd days, uphill is brutal. Apex and Enchanted forest has steep inclines and serious boulders. Good decent on Pick N' Sledge after earning the burn.

Great hike, a little crowded.

Steady and steep climb from the parking area up one-third of a mile to view the lake. From there you simply hike around the lake and back down. Nothing spectacular for the area, but a quick hike and chance to be near water all the time if you’re hiking with dogs. Saw several people fishing.

$7 to park at the trail head . Plenty of parking both times we visited .
Well signposted trail with options to switch or explore other trails on the route.

Amazing hike with views of Boulder and, on a good day, Denver. It was difficult hike, but well worth it.

Great hike!

Close to the city. Short distance.

Don't be fooled. This is an expert trail. Lot of. Boulder climbing and uneven surfaces. The pay off is incredible.

Easy hike. Terrific overlooks. The feel of this Canyon is impressive. Weekends are packed. Arrive early or go during the week.

amazing views of the flatlands and mountains. gorgeous hike for so close to Denver. loved the history!

Meh. Nicely built trail. Views at the top were pleasant. But the road-crossings made this feel like I wasn’t really off the beaten path. I never found the ladder?! And I didn’t find the trail to be nearly as hard as others describe. I carried poles but never even took them out of my backpack.

Beautiful views but the entire time we were hiking we heard very loud gunshots from the adjoining private property which ruined any chance of a peaceful hike.

Awesome park

A pretty constant ascent for most of the trail but the views are great and arch was so worth it! Though the elevation wasn't too high at the end, we had a little trouble with the altitude here since we're from the northeast (brought extra oxygen in case). Distance is not very long at all and was relieved that the descent was not super steep. Highly recommend this hike!

Great trail, but definitely a workout with lots of steep inclines and rocky terrain to climb up and over. We went clockwise starting on the Gregory Canyon trailhead in the parking lot and then meeting up with the Flagstaff trail. Saw some mule deer, but more importantly, heads up for bears! Not-so-little guy was greeting people at the parking lot towards later afternoon hours, so be aware. Also parking is very limited and there is a $5 fee if your not registered in Boulder or have a pass.

The historical ruins are very cool! Took a visiting family member from out of state and it seemed like a good fit for her while still adjusting to the altitude. Pretty crowded with lots of familes and dogs. No amazing vistas, but some decent overlooks and views to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It's nice how all the little side trails connect so you can add or minus mileage as you like. Found the historical information and ruins to be the coolest part of the day.

Trail was great. Didn’t see any mountain lions.

Beautiful scenery the whole way. Nice steady uphill climb. Moderate. One of my favorites!

It is worth it! It is not easy. It becomes Very steep and small tight switch backs. Don’t give up at Sentinal Pass. After this it’s kinda brutal because the pass is a treat too. It’s just a bit further and worth the entire stair master. A very rewarding hike. Great workout.

Great hike. Excellent views. Moderate in difficulty. Wouldn’t consider it to be very hard. I would definitely do his hike again.

Great hike. Not for beginners. My husband and I (late 50s) took about an hour to hike to the top and about 40 minutes to descend. Beautiful view from the arch.
