This trail is so beautiful! It’s pretty easy going with the steepest inclines at the start and at the end. If you go this weekend I would recommend micro spikes as the second half is pretty icy. The lake is still frozen but so beautiful. Maybe my favorite hike in NM so far

Great up and down easy. Blue sky everywhere!

Pretty much as advertised. Loop trail that’s down hill outbound and up hill back to TH. We took a few breaks on the return leg. Great workout fior my 61 yr old knees.

Amazing! Great trail, kids had a blast and not too strenuous! If you like geocaching there a some great ones along the trail!

Awesome place to hike. Funtastic hike and scenic views. I'd love to go again soon with family.

This trail wasn't too difficult for us to find, we started out at Battleship Rock picnic area on trail 137 (which is well marked) along the creek. Less than 10 minutes in we found the sign that was the turn off for McCauley hot spring trail. The trail wasn't all that well maintained and there were fallen trees that needed clearing. We took the dog and he loved it, there wasn't too much traffic on the trail for a beautiful Saturday morning.

This trail is a moderately hard hike. We took 5 kids ranging in age from 8 to 16. They handled it well. It will give your knees a workout. Trail was well traveled for Good Friday. Many people at the springs, but there was enough room to enjoy our time there. The trail was well marked. There is not much cover to change at the Springs, so wear your water clothes up. Great places for pictures or selfies on the way.

Leisure hike on well groomed trail. Smell of sunshine and bushes. The four ladders were the highlight, and is reasonably family friendly — kids 6 or 7 years old seem to climb up and down with no problem. More things to see on the main loop, including a few more ladders (much shorter), and some pretty cool petroglyphs.

Coming from ABQ, the drive was so pretty! Got to stop at the soda dam. Hike was rough after a lot of inactivity during a chicago winter, but the springs was a great payoff! It is a warm spring as others have said, but the guppies are so cool!

completed the trail in late March. Very slippy at the beginning due to the ice. The snow is very deep at several sections near the lake. Proper equipment (gaiters and waterproof hiking boots) is recommended at this time of year . I won't rate it hard in the warmer seasons when there is no snow. Approximate 6 hours for the in-and-out hike.

Perfect for a morning stroll. Nice and easy. I went in March and saw a half-dozen bird species. Great with kids.

Easy and nice trail. Excellent views

The falls weren't so great, but this is a wonderful & relaxing hike. Great views! Nice to see all the old train history throughout hike. Enjoyed!

Nice, easy hike. If you feel adventurous you can get off the beaten path and explore a couple of caves along the way. Some of the cave hikes are quite a bit harder with steep inclines, loose gravel and some scrambling required.

Excellent trail for running. There is plenty of shade and a waterfall. I'll make this one of my regular run spots.

This is my favorite trail in the Organs. Best in late summer.

this is a very nice Forest hike along the creek that leads to the falls. Not very strenuous and a good path to follow. there are a couple of creek crossings that were ice covered and most of them have either stones or small Limbs and logs that you can use to cross over during the summer time. the falls were ice covered and the water was rushing beneath the ice giving it a nice surreal look. when driving to the trailhead follow the directions. towards the end, it is a one-lane road but it does end at the trailhead. there is limited parking spaces at the trailhead.

This is a great trail. Great scenery and the warm springs are really nice at the end. I used the map on the app and had no problem following the trail or finding the springs. My mistake was not bringing a swimsuit and towel. Highly recommended!!

Great area to hike! Views are great and plenty of wildlife to see.

Loved this trail! I don't think that I would rate it as moderate. We found it to be pretty easy. The 7.2 miles is if you combine all three trails together. We did two of them and it came out to be about 6 miles.

Beautiful hike!

I loved this trail! It involves several ladders and wouldn't be great for those scared of heights! The view of the canyon is beautiful from the top.

A very scenic hike, we really enjoyed it.

Just did this trail today (February), and there was a ton of snow. Unfortunately we didn’t make it all the way to the lake since we weren’t in the proper gear (snow shoes and trekking poles). We got as far as we could and then the trail got too steep and the snow got too deep. I will definitely be coming back in the spring/summer!!

We hiked the Nambe Trail in June 2017 with 6 adults, 5 teens and an Australian Shepherd. It was one of our favorite hikes ever. A lot of the trail in the last mile or so is not well marked and hard to follow but we read enough online ahead of time to be able to find the lake at the end. Highly recommend to seasoned hikers.

I was stalked by a gang of deer. Other than that, it was scrumptious. Didn’t care for the $20 entry.

We hiked this last September, which was the perfect time to go with the aspens starting to turn. First and last parts of the trail are steep but not bad, and the middle is flat, so I would rate this as moderate instead of hard. The last section isn't well marked, but keep heading upwards and you'll find the lake.

A very easy trail up to the very end.

I would take the heights warning very seriously. At the end you climb ladders pretty far up. It’s best part about the whole route though.

It’s also really cool seeing the history of the culture that used to live in the valley as well.

Awesome trail, me and my dog hiked it today, some awesome views. Trail wasn't busy at all. Definitely will go back to this trail again.
