Great trail. The track on the map takes a slightly different route than the new route taken on the trail, but it's pretty close. I'll try to upload a correct track next time I ride this route.

great trail! beautiful with the changing leaves. perfect length for a day hike.

Excellent hike! More exposure to direct sunshine than I expected on the way up which made for poor visibility. Be sure to have a brimmed hat, sunglasses etc. if you’re climbing on a sunny morning.

Fun little hike, a decent challenge but not a lot to see.

Lot of fun!

This is my favorite one. Hiked 5 times in last two months. Beautiful views from the ridge.

Did this hike yesterday. Was pretty good hike. It was more strenuous in some parts, especially the last .5 miles to the top which felt more like a mile than just a half. Keeping in mind that I am 25lb overweight. The day was cool and windy, but worked up a great sweat. Very nice people on the trail giving you advice on the best spots for pictures. The summit was beautiful and relaxing, I just wished I had of started earlier and was able to stay a bit longer. Great hike.

Very nice trail! There are a number of trails in this area that crisscross, the trail is adequately marked with orange arrows on the metal forest service signs that are about 3 inches wide and 4 feet tall. Need to watch for them! The trail has been rerouted somewhat on the counterclockwise side. The trailhead is at the back left side of the parking area. Starts between a fence and The rooftop signboard. About 10 or 15 yards in the clockwise trail goes straight and the counterclockwise goes right, marked with Orange arrow on forest service sign.

Wonderful hike. I did it back in April with my husband and it was difficult at the stair part. My second time doing it on Sunday with a girlfriend. Still hard, but better (since I have more hikes in) Encountered a rattlesnake at the top. But made it

1st time on the trail to get back into walking and loved it.

Pretty lake views. Great for taking your non hiker friends who are stressed by incline.

Nice trail. Well marked. A little treacherous in spots. Just watch your step.

I love this place it’s cool

Deffinetely hard one, especially if you don't have experience. I did it as suggested, going counter clockwise. Will be even harder during the summer, since there is no shade half of the way. Hiking will take you around 3 hours with some stops for pics and breaks. Btw i did the descending part at night 7-925pm.

Done this hike twice now and it’s awesome! I recommend going clockwise around the loop (with the switchbacks at the end) so that you can see the lake for longer while you’re on the ridge. Go early if you can since it’s hot and can get crowded.

it was a great hike, beautiful place to hike..
steepy and rocky which is great for your lower extremities.

Nice day hike with a well maintained trail. When you’ve reached the elevation sign at the top, keep exploring..... you’ll find a boulder hidden summit with excellent views!!

It was a great hike! I would bring more water than you think you need. A fire went through the area a bit ago and all the brush was scorched so there isn’t much shade. It is all uphill so be prepared for that!

Rode a 14.2 mile route option. Roughly 6 mile climb to summit and alternating downhills and some climbs for the return. Beautiful creeks and falls along 224A and 77A trails.

Good views and easy trails.

Great flowing trails. Clear and clean. Took the entire family even my 5 yr old bmx track racer had fun. Well his breaks went out on a downhill fun causing him to eat it at the turn but all in all was a fun trail and lots of options to take harder trails.

I love this hike! That being said I went at 2:00pm when it was 91 degrees out and I almost had a breakdown at the top it was so hot. There are signs warning about the lack of tree coverage. Listen to them! Don’t be dumb like me, bring lots of water and plan earlier in the day before it gets too hot

Came across this trailhead by accident while turning around in N.C. heading to GA line. Walked a majority of the loop and it was well marked and maintained. Going to be back kayaking in September.

The hike isn't too bad and the view is absolutely beautiful. The only downside is the sheer length of the trail that is made up of fist to head sized uneven rocks. they don't make much of a challenge on the way up, but are murder on the ankles on the way down. Hiking boots are heavily recommended.

The view was okay. The trail wasn’t well marked and was also overgrown. There was also a bunch of switch-backs. I’d say it was moderate because of how long it was to walk it. I have an injured knee and it wasn’t to hard on it. Just long. At least 3 plus hours.

The last .5mile kicked my butt!

Good scenery and interesting trail

Enjoyable hike, not too bad. Convenient parking right at the trail head. I do suggest going clockwise around the loop so you end up doing the steep switchbacks on your way back down from the ridge.

We love this trail.
