This was a very enjoyable hike, this week it has been quite icy in many areas early on but further up it's dry, traction would've been nice but good shoes and the right foot placement is key. Near the top there is a section that our 40lb Sheppard had a hard time but made it to the top. The views are amazing

Very nice hike; a little steep in places which wouldn't be an issue without the ice. Traction devices recommended for descent! Beautiful view at the top with a cute little Christmas tree.

nice little hike. consistent uphill climb but not too difficult. trail has packed snow and ice on the north side. very nice view of Colorado Springs.

Blodgett offers decent views for Colorado. The trail's not well marked, so it's easy to get off track. Furthermore, there's a lot of loose gravel.

this is a great creek trail that fallows the valley up. we did this hike with show on the ground and several frozen spots in the creek loved it.

Short hike up with a beautiful payoff! The area can get pretty busy with people trying to get their pictures in, especially during the summer but well worth the trip year round

beautiful trail!

Nice little stroll around the lake. Good for an easy way to get outside.

My favorite hike near the Springs! So beautiful at the top.

One of the best hikes in the Springs. Not easy, but really pretty.

It was pretty, a little overrated. There are prettier hikes of that distance and difficulty at Cheyenne Canon.

Beautiful and dynamic sights.

My first long hike.... loved it!!!

My favorite hike in North Cheyenne! The view at the top is absolutely stunning and worth the steep climb near the top. Did it today and it's a little icy at spots but definitely doable without yaktraxs/spikes. Highly recommend this hike :)

The rating for this trail is accurate, there are a few spots where it is a little more difficult when there is ice and snow. The views at the top are pretty awesome, you can see the city on the east side of the summit and the mountains on the west side. Parking is good, about 10-12 spots. I know it states dogs need to be leashed but when I did the trail I passed about 10 different hikers with dogs running free.

Back part is very icey. You will fall unless you have proper foot gear. Some ice in the middle too. Still some good runnable areas. Pretty views. Decent climb.

Lovely views! Came midday and only ran into a few other single hikers. The snow is mostly melted. There are snowy spots but it’s mostly packed down. I wore normal hiking boots and had no problem, didn’t need yaktrax or spikes. A little icier coming down especially at the top, but with careful feet you’ll be fine. As long as it doesn’t snow again, you could do it in tennies with good grip or trail running shoes... both groups I ran into only wore these.

Did this hike in the rain. If you go counterclockwise, you’ll go down a steep series of steps to get to the bottom of the waterfall. Clockwise you’ll have to go up. Depends on your knees. The waterfall is at about the 11 o’clock position from the start. So if you are planning on going on to hike further than the loop, going clockwise will let you see the waterfall early in the trip. Except for the steep set of stairs, the hike was mostly gradual changes in elevation. Enjoyed this hike.

Stunning view from the top, especially with the snow and Christmas lights around the city. Trail was lightly covered in snow, definitely icy in spots from being packed down. Spikes not necessary, yaktrax may have been a little helpful in the icier areas, but also not a necessity. Left the trailhead at 4:30pm, jogged (slowly) about half of the trail back down and got to the car by 5:15 just as it got dark enough for a headlamp. Short and sweet!

The first 1.8-ish miles is about a 1300 ft elevation gain, some dirt trail and lots of loose rock. So it's definitely not "easy" as listed. We went on 10 Nov and there was some snow and ice. After the 1.8 miles, the trail levels out and is incredibly beautiful. Fairly well trafficked midday but not obnoxiously busy at all.

Update: Made it to the top with the proper gear (micro spikes and walking stick), and was still difficult. The entire trail is now pretty much is covered in snow and ice. With most of the trail being under the trees it will probably be like this for sometime. Highly recommend micro spikes and dress in layers if you attempt this trail in the next few months.

Did this on a cloudy day and was still treated to a wonderful walk, not too difficult. Take the high beginning or you will be turning around to see the mountain. Bring water and a snack or two.

Definitely hard finding the trail head. But what was a great hike even with the snow and ice.

Trail extremely icy. Snow melt and refreeze creating an ice crust.

I’ve been trying to find this stinking trail head for months and was so excited to finally hike it!!! Probably not the smartest in late November seeing as it was a ton of ice and we slid the whole way. I will come back to it in the spring but this time of year I don’t recommend for kids or older people or anyone who doesnt mind falling a lot. So exciting to find all 7 bridges though.

Unreal. One of my all time favourite hikes

This is an easy trail with a big and beautiful payoff! So worth the short hike. The views are breathtaking! Just watch out for of the ground is covered in ice in the winter.

Just amazing! This trail kicked my tail, if it’s during the snow months bring micro spikes. There was a lot of ice making for an adventurous trip back down. The views and scenery breathtaking.

Attempted to hike this trail, however about one mile into the trail where you will be doing a lot of rock climbing the trail was very slick/icy. Since I didn't have my micro spikes had to turn around. Highly recommend crampons or micro spikes due to most of the trail is tree covered and the ice/snow will be there for awhile.
