Amazing view from the top but if you are afraid of heights then this trail may not be right for you. The last half mile you will need to hang on the steel chains and carefully watch your steps, the path is very narrow and steep, but once you got to the top, the breathtaking views are well worthy!!

Hiked it this morning 3/15/2018 maybe 10-15 people total until the hike back down. Started at 6 from the museum up to the top and back down to the museum by 11. This hike is not for those afraid of heights and is very fulfilling. I had major knee surgery last June and was able to do this hike with little to no pain even with all the hills, switchback and climbing involved.

conquered it on 10/21/17.. Epic hike.. amazing.. words can't describe how beautiful it is up there.

make sure to go on a sunny day for the best views. the valley looked gray and dull brown instead of its normal brilliant orange due to a combination of cloud cover and wet rock.

there is no snow on the trail currently.

took me 5 hours hiking slowly with breaks. surface is all paved, slickrock, or packed dirt. the hike is relatively easy for its length and elevation change.

Fantastic trail. Hiked it with my kids. Super crowded because of Spring Break but still worth it.

Excellent hike couldn't ask for more beautiful weather! Not for the faint of heart!

Difficult climb chose to do it the other day after a snowstorm. The hike was beautiful with the snow covered trees but unfortunately we had zero visibility at top but we still enjoyed the loop. Would like to revisit in the summer!

Absolutely loved it. One hell of a hike it is. People scared of heights should stay away from this!!!

on Emerald Pools Trail

We did the full loop

This keeps you mostly on the side of the mountain and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. It is strenuous switchbacks and all up hill

I love this hike. Me and my bf went on Friday. It was packed but all in all a nice hike. A LOT of switchbacks and all uphill

Hiked this two days ago. No ice and snow, and the trail having been paved in a lot of places makes for easier hiking and can shorten the hike time. Very strenuous at the beginning but the trail gets easier when you walk through a canyon in the middle. Then you’ll have some more switchbacks to do, and finally the last 0.5-1 mile is a level walk around the rim of Zion canyon to the point. Took our group about 4 hours on the money to go up and down. And we took several breaks on the way up.

Hiked out from Johns brook lean too’s. Good hike, had older kids on their first backpacking trip. Colder at the top than expected in August.

This was a great easy first day hike and introduction to Zion. We went there in march in the late afternoon and the weather was fantastic. We also did it as a loop - took the grotto trailhead, then the kayenta trail that connects you to the emerald pools. We went to all 3 pools and the upper was the most spectacular at this time of year. We took the emerald trail back down to the lodge. I highly suggest doing this loop as the scenery on the kayenta was great and way better than just the emerald pools trail. Thank you to all who mentioned doing this loop!!!

Great hike, amazing views, and a lot of fun scrambles on this trail.

While many are saying the final views are spectacular, the experience is what made this a 5-star hike for me. It is both mentally and physically tough, so completing it was incredibly fulfilling. This hike is so unique. There’s nothing else like the journey to the summit.

The one drawback of this hike is how crowded it gets. There are points where I felt a little unsafe, waiting by a drop off along a very narrow path for others to pass. There are many places where only one-way traffic can pass, although there’s traffic in both ways. This hike is not for those with a fear of heights.

on Runyon Canyon Trail

Amazing hiking trails! All lead back to the entrance. Good workout, beautiful view of DTLA & the many dogs you'll see, water fountains available.

INCREDIBLE! Don’t underestimate this hike or overestimate your abilities. This hike couldn’t have been more breathtaking. Lots of switchbacks until you get up to the chains.

I was not overwhelmed with this trail. Being the beginning of March there was no real water flow, but the canyon walls were pretty as were the few views of the park. Very very busy, and I did it in the morning. Probably wouldn’t do it again, but I am glad I can say I did it. Suitable for all ages!

Amazing hike, but definitely be prepared! Saw a lot of people without proper footwear and with the ice I would recommend having strap ons.

tough hike, but the views make it well worth it.

If you're doing the east rim to observation point I would save this for on the way down! Quick hike, fun adrenaline kick for those not afraid of heights.

Solid park with diverse landscapes that allow you to choose your level of difficulty.

Hike 02/25/18. Stunning views. My favorite part was hiking through the canyons. Make sure to start early enough to come down before the buses stop running. it's definitely a strenuous hike. and for those who are not acclimated to the elevation yet - do that first before doing this hike!

By far this is my favorite hike I’ve ever done and that’s says a lot because I’ve done a lot of hikes. The view at the top is breathtaking and definitely worth every second of the hike. This trail is not for people who give up easily. I highly recommend doing this hike. It is definitely a trail for a bucket list.
