Good hike, my 13 year old dog was able to reach the tippy top with me. We went clockwise and were bombarded with high noon sun... hike would have been a little easier if it weren’t for the heat (still not too bad, late October). The hike down was mostly shade.

Moderate hike with panoramic views. Great for a morning activity before lunch. Trail well maintained.

Gorgeous and quick! Must do trail

Mostly doing flat land trails in Austin this is fantastic change. Beautiful views all the way up, if no marine layer obviously. I've seen folks from 6 to 86 on this trail. As a side note, I lost my wallet on the trail. After realizing later, we went back and found it by a billboard fully intact. Folks here are top notch. As a plus, multiple breweries within 2 miles once you're done. Enjoy!

The Elfin Forest Natural Area Trail is an easy hike and the views are spectacular of the Central Coast and Morro Bay Estuary. If you have people visiting and you want them to go on a very easy hike, this is it. This hike of of the Elfin Forest Natural Area Trail is well worth doing, great all year long, maybe not so much in rainy season. This video was shot in the summer so very little bird life as compared to winter. Lots of wildlife if you look for it, mostly squirrels and rabbits so hawks can always be present.

The Los Osos Oaks State Reserve is an easy hike and the views are spectacular of the Central Coast at a few places, but most of the time you are under beautiful oaks. This Hike of of the Los Osos Oaks State Reserve is well worth doing, great all year long, maybe not so much in rainy season. This video was shot in the summer so very little of both ticks and Poison oak as hazards if you don't get too close to the sides or go off trail. Lots of wildlife if you look for it, mostly squirrels and rabbits so hawks can always be present.

Such a fun trail! Great views at the top, and lots of fun things to play on. I had to keep an eye out for mountain bikers, but they were very respectful in sharing the trails. Its not too strenuous, but still enough to feel like you got a workout. I really enjoyed this loop.

Good hike not hard the elevation gain is spread out over two miles. It was overcast the day I hiked so I didn’t have much of a view from the top.

A nice easy boardwalk trail with scenic view points of Morro Rock and estuary.

A nice easy little boardwalk trail. Easy for non-walkers. Loved the variety of plants and scenic view points.

This was a decent hike. It was mainly foggy, so we didn’t get a chance to see the “nice” scenery. We started at 8am though, so you may want to wait until the fog lifts to actually enjoy it. The incline was fairly decent. We hiked next to a tower too, so we were able to access the Wi-Fi on our phones. Pretty chill hike!

Good little walk through the sand to get to the boardwalk. Views over the inlet in the bay is very beautiful.

Nice area, but the trail is not clearly marked. At all. Watch out for poison oak. It was a nice walk in the woods if you’re not the type of person that needs a trail.

Nice easy trail with good views of the back bay. Lots of birds to see. Trail is well maintained, but mostly loose dirt. Definitely wear close-toed shoes.

Great afternoon hike! Most is on a clearly defined, wide trail, although there are smaller paths if you want. It is worth hiking to the very top (there is a pole to define it). Great overview of SLO!

Easy and interesting. Drove along Camino Cielo afterwards. Perfect for an after work outing

Some of the most beautiful trees I have ever seen! Mostly shaded, easy hike. My 7,5, and 3 year old walked the trails with me without any problems. Lots of Poison Oak, but if you keep your eyes open and stay on the trails, it can be easily avoided. Not stroller friendly. Saw a rabbit, squirrels, birds and lots of lizards. Very peaceful hike. Great hike, good workout. I recommend take lots of water and be wary of the heat in the summer. Can be 10-20 degrees cooler at the top with a breeze, however. Take it slow and nature will really start to expose herself. Very enjoyable. Maybe even stop and talk to horseback riders. They have done a lot to maintain the integrity and expand these trails.

Great elevation changes to warm you up.

Sunny, bring a hat and water, but very comfortable trail; I’d call the shorter loop easy, haven’t done the longer one so can’t rank that. Usually you’ll run into several bikers, runners, hikers, and a family or two. Very fun and casual hike

This trail is grossly unkempt. We didn’t enjoy it as much as we thought. The overgrowth and the stacks of leaves to trudge through took away from enjoying the beautiful oak trees. June 2018

This was a great starter for small children. The ruins make it feel like an adventure and the views are fantastic.

Not much of a hike but a very cool view.

Not really a hike but great views.

We had to climb the fence to get to the trail so we were a little hesitant at first, but the hike is a dirt road & easy to follow. It's a gradual incline with nice views of San Luis Obispo & even Morro Bay. Went in June & the smell of the wildflowers was very nice! The terrain starts off as dry grass & oak trees but at about 2 miles it changes to pine trees & more of a mountain terrain. It was a nice surprise.

This moderately trafficked loop trail is well marked and beautiful. Along the trail we saw numerous native birds and wild flowers. Most areas are fully sun exposed, but there are a few shaded areas in the wooded segment of the trail. Although we hiked the looped trail, I do recommend the trail for runners, also. There is a connector option on the trail that cuts through the loop to make it a shorter hike if so desired. I recommend this easy to moderate trail and make sure to bring some water.

Very enjoyable . Great views . Peaceful
