Mostly shaded, we went early in the day. Park at the overflow lot as neighbors seem strict about not parking on the road leading to trailhead. Lots of elevation gain pretty quickly and several switchbacks, worth it, but maybe not great for a group. Seemed popular with locals. Wonderful views at the top. bring lots of water.

Great easy short trail to a nice waterfall.

Great Trail for beginners with amazing views.

Pretty trail. I am looking forward to making it out here this fall as I noticed some aspen trees! I am certain this trail will be a frequent for me, and next time would like to take it to the College M!

A well maintained path down to a beautiful waterfall. Short and not difficult. Can be very busy, so go early morning or late afternoon. There are multiple benches and bridges and picnic tables along the way.

Beautiful hike, the switchbacks can be difficult for little ones, but the trail is very well maintained. And the waterfall is breathtaking!

Was a great hike! Waterfall is really beautiful! Wow!

I didn’t actually love that it was paved, but it would be great for families with kids and strollers. The waterfall at the end was very pretty and offers the chance to scramble up to get closer to the foot of it if you choose.

Such a pretty hike, and a nice and easy one to get started with. You can also elect to continue on some side hikes to see other falls or hyalite creek if you want a longer hike.

Pretty breathtaking scene at the end of this trail. While this trail is short and busy, this is definitely worth your time if you are visiting for a short time or if accessibility is a high priority. Great hike to take newcomers and visitors to town on.

Nice little multi-purpose trail headed up to Fairy Lake if you are looking to nix the last two miles up to the lake due to road conditions. This trail certainly gets the job done in that case and is nice for adding a few more miles on to your day at Fairy Lake and up to Sacajawea Peak.

I've done all the variations of this trail and it is a nice one to get some miles under your feet and a nice uphill workout whether hiking or running. The trail is a little "short" if you are looking for something longer. Nice before work, lunchtime, or after work hiking or running trail. Peaceful and quiet both of the times I've been.

Another short hike or trail run if you are short on time. This trail definitely loads up with people but the different variations of the trail are nice to help spread folks out a bit on the trail. Excellent trail for those who are visiting town as you get some nice views or Bozeman and can say you hiked the "M" in Bozeman.

This is an excellent hike or trail run for simply "getting the job done" if you don't have a lot of time but need a decent workout. The loop lends itself to helping spread people out so that the trail doesn't seem overly populated.

I took the advice and went counterclockwise. Ran most of the way up and down, about 1 hr. Nice shallow Creek in the beginning for the dogs and humans. Easy enough to do twice for trail hill repeats. I Pasted somebody every 40 feet maybe. But of course everybody was friendly.

Nice trail with pretty views and a nice spot for my dog to cool off in a shallow creek about .25 mile in.

Three lakes in less than 5mi RT? Perfect! The upper hidden lake still had some snow and the hike was beautiful. A little steep on your way to the upper lake.

Beautiful!

Great trail, with many water crossings. Not too technical, or too much climbing great for an easy ride to enjoy the scenery.

Love little trail! Interesting rock formations, benches, views. Enjoyed this convenient, mellow trail. Nice way to break up a long drive.

short convenient hike. Preferred drinking horse. Decent workout in that first 1/2 mile.

Nice trail. Beautiful views. Not too crowded. Dogs enjoyed it too.

Beautiful quick hike

Great place and few people. The first part of the hike is on a wide trail but up on top of a level area is a potentially confusing intersection with an arrow indicating the trail straight ahead but go right instead. There is a hard-to-see sign that says Hidden Lakes nailed to a tree. From here the trail heads down and then up to small Lily Lake. Look for the faint and narrow trail heading steeply uphill on the northwest corner of the camping area to reach Lower and Upper Hidden Lakes. Usually snow even in July and good fishing for Golden Trout.

Do not do this hike in the middle of the day when it's hot. You will melt. Very little shade and very steep. A trademark hike in Bozeman, but I think drinking horse across the street is a much better hike.

Awesome little hike. Can definitely get busy though. I actually prefer this hike in the winter though! The ice structures are amazing, water is still flowing, and way less crowds! The trail is very easy to follow even with snow all over the ground.

The drive to the lake is very rough—probably not advisable unless your car/truck has high clearance and/or 4WD. The lake is very pretty, but can be crowded on the weekend. The flies were especially bad when we went.

Always a nice, kid friendly hike. Go early to avoid bugs, heat, and crowds.

Easy peesy. Even a Texan could do it.

This is a great walk / hike for all ages and all skill levels. The falls are beautiful and easily accessible. Perfect for kids.
