Hikes for 5/26/18 Weeknd Map

This hike never gets old

Beautiful trail. Starts to the left of the parking lot. Very fun to hike with snow at the top, would definitely recommend chains. The views were incredible and well worth the hike.

Even in early November there was still quite a bit of color. Tricky to find the start of the trail but once you do it the trail is well marked with yellow dashes. Going down was more difficult to me with the slick rocks, I fell 6 times, but it was the day after a moderate rain. Amazing views and a great first New England hike.

I love the Champney brook trail. Beautiful waterfalls about 1.5 miles into the hike. From there the grade goes up a little bit as you hike towards the first outlook. The outlook to the summit offer some rock scrambling and great views. The summit is breathtaking. 360* views. Easily one of the best hikes in N.H. More rewarding than many of the 4,000 footers in the area. A must do hike.

Very rewarding hike! Please bring Trail App with GPS or Map Note: at times Trail is difficult to identify ,We hiked when it rained and it was very slippery at the top! Would do it again...

A lot of rocky ground. If raining can be hazardous.
Good 360 view at the top.

Really nice hike with great views. Major bonus that its dog-friendly. After doing this “moderate” hike, I’ll never do a “hard” one :) it was challenging! Steep and rocky, but the 360 view from the top made it all worth it.

Great hike through a wooded deciduous forest with a stream parallel to the trail at the start. Quite a bit of work has resulted in a climb that is strenuous but moderate.
The summit affords exposed granite spectacular 360 degree views.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Learning difference from 12 yo to 67 yo as far as scampering up and down rocks. Excellent trail but definitely took longer than anticipated and challenging.

We went up on a beautiful day, taking Piper up and “west” loop down. The latter was longer but we avoided going down the rocks we had scampered over on the way up. Summit was glorious- beautiful 360 views.

We started at the Piper Trailhead, then took Carter, Middle Sister, West Side, Liberty, Hammond, and Weetamoo back to Piper. Be careful if bringing dogs. I had my 55lb dog with me. He made it the whole loop but there were many large rocks that I had to boost him up onto. They were at the end of Carter Ledge up to and in the beginning of Middle Sister. We took the trail pretty slow with many breaks. We had 7 hrs moving and about 10 all together. All in all a beautiful trail! Well worth the work to get up.

Excellent trail - wonderful 360 view from top.
With lunch break just under 4 h return.

Great views during climb and at the top (360 views until the fog rolled in). Fall colors were out in full force and amazing! Trail conditions were good but could see how this would be trickier in wet conditions.

Great trail conditions nice views until clouds cover

Absolutely gorgeous. It was a very rewarding hike at the peak with a large rocky area and a panoramic view of the entire surrounding ranges. It was a pretty tough hike in all honesty, but I also wore regular sneakers which complicated things lol. We completed it in about 4 and a half hours and will definitely do it again - highly recommend to others for a good half-day activity! Perfect for fall foliage! :)

Challenging, rewarding, beautiful. Great forest setting. Well marked. Definitely tricky if there’s lots of wet rocks. I found boots to be a good choice and wish I had brought my trekking pole. Was very populated today. The last stretch is the hardest but it’s worth it.

Just finished this and am quite tired. Definitely was not expecting it to be as difficult as it was. Still, I would highly recommend this trail for the amazing scenery and 360 degree view at the top. Also seemed to be a good amount of traffic so there’s always a good amount of people at the summit or on the trail before 4 pm.

Hiked with my 6 and 10 year olds.

I really enjoyed this hike which isn't always the case. My 10 year old and I plan on coming back in the winter. Neither child struggled although we did notice the elevation gain.

Great hike. I'm not a fan of flat rock, and these were slick in spots. Otherwise, would've been 5 stars. Crowded after 12:00 on weekends.

Great hike Sat 9-29-18 on a beautiful day! It was crowded at the top. We hit the trail at 9am got the last spot in the lot. Others parked on the road. The parking fee was $5. We are in our 50’s and I’m slow. Took us 3 hrs up and 2.5 down. We had lunch at the top and let the dogs swim in falls on the way back. Beautiful day with beautiful views

Great hike, well marked, ample parking, not too difficult. World-class views at the summit

Lovely hike with mostly steady uphill, rocky path. Well marked and well worth the effort. like all White Mountain trails, sturdy boots are recommended, but doable with light hikers

Beautiful! Piper trail and Sisters have scrambling and some slippery rocks but the rewards are plentiful. The view is breathtaking all the way! We clocked closer to 19km for the loop rather than 13,7km. as indicated, so give yourself some extra time.

Beautiful Waterfall just a little detour from the trail but great view from the summit overlooking white Mountains!

Such a fun hike! Easy going up and pretty well marked but can get a little difficult at the top with the loose rocks. Took us a little over four hours but I also took my time going down due to a sprained ankle on another mountain a few weeks ago. View is so worth it!!

Absolutely incredible trip! Got to the summit in about two hours, with brief trail running in places but a few stops along the way as well. Not super well-marked once you start to move above the deciduous trees, but it’s apparent enough which way the trail goes. Views between tree line and the actual summit are to die for, pictures don’t do them justice and I probably spent at least an hour and a half just taking it all in. Some sections in the higher elevations are mostly smooth rock face with a little section near the edge that’s easier to navigate, which was probably the hardest part of the hike.

Spectacular views.
End of September, slippery rocks.

Awesome hike! Definitely harder then your typical moderate rated trail. Amazing views at the top ❤️

Lots of fun — pay attention to the markers for sure.
