Hikes done! Map

The area between the first set of stairs and the summit is in poor condition creating difficulties on the descent. Avoid in icy conditions unless you have good micro spikes.

Not a particularly beautiful or interesting trail, maybe we just didn’t get to the right viewpoints? Good length and difficulty, good as a moderate 3-hour workout. Used our gps a lot.

Done this twice now while visiting Vancouver, love it!!! Second time, half way up I was wondering why I was doing it again, but worth it once you get to the top.

Great hike. 2 hours 40 minutes round trip. Fairly easy except near the top when there’s snow on the ground. Gets a little slippery and would recommend something to put on your boots for grip.

Pretty hard and totally uphill all the way. The views up are beautiful, worth your efforts. Took us 75 mins. Gondola was closed for seasonal maintenance so had to go down by the BCMC trail which was very tiring and painful as the trail was torn up due to heavy rain.

Nice easy trail. Different altitudes during the road. Beautiful scenery, nice people.

Over rated in my opinion. It's a good hike, but it's very busy most of the time and I hike for quiet, lot to be in rush hour. 50% people who are trying to beat their times are more than happy to give those slower a little nudge to get you out of their way.

Cute hike, not hard, slippery In the fall with the leaves and rain. Next time I do this hike I’ll bring a tea pot or cup to add to the ambiance.

Great hike. Viewpoint surrounded in cloud, couldn’t see anything. Snowing at the summit. Totally worth it. Ran into a crew working on the trail - THANKS!

A solid hour of stair climbing and a breathtaking view at the top! Another reason I want to move to Vancouver so this can be a part of my daily morning routine.

Really nice. Found it to be well
Kept. Hard to find the start. View was cloudy but I assume normally is amazing.

If you can, do this hike on a week day. Very busy on weekends. Nice moderate hike with spectacular views at the top.
Easy access from Cypress parking lot.

Nice easy hike. No great views, but a nice little loop around some 500+ year old Douglas Fir trees.

It's a beautiful hike but get started early! It starts to get crowded just before noon.

Top section is steep and very slippery. If you are afraid of height, you might find this section very challenging at times - more so on your way back. Hiking poles help. I suggest an early start, it gets really busy in the afternoons.

Hiked it twice. First time was on a rainy morning. Second time was on a hot sunny day. The second time around, with the heat and exposure, the hike felt so much harder. If hiking it in the summer, make sure to have plenty of water.

great trail except for the sounds of the shooting range.. beautiful spot though

Great little hike for me and my dogs! Beautiful views!

Have done this hike a couple of times over the summer - love it! Quite the workout near the very top and loose gravel makes it bit tricky coming down. The view is beautiful! Make sure to pack lots of water for you and your four legged friends!

Amazing hike, just finished it with my Aunty. Super short and mellow with a rewarding view! Good for any level of hiker!

5 stars because the peak chalet at the top was a great way to end a very challenging hike.

At 36 and decent shape it took me 1 hour 10 minutes. This hike is basically a stair climb for the entire time with no let up. If you’re looking for a flat smooth hike look elsewhere.

Started at about 11am on Sunday and the crowds weren’t too bad. Bring a credit card for lunch and drinks at the top.

What a beautiful day to hike Elk. first time and I will hike Elk again and can't wait to snowshoes Elk.

Strangely addictive and I think like anything, it gets easier the more you practice. Pace yourself, take a litre bottle of water per person and wear stretchy clothing as you’ll be stepping up for basically the entire way and scrambling over rocks. Pack an extra layer for the top as it tends to be a bit chillier.

Hiked this trail Oct.20th. Elk View road was closed leading to the trailhead. Not sure of when it will be re opened but we found a way to get there from the back roads. This hike was unreal!!! Amazing views highly recommend!

Was such a good hike, soo busy! I went on a weekend. Silly me! But nether the less was such a great day. A decent incline and a little bit of climbing, but if you are unstable I would bring poles.

Go early so you can see the view without anyone! It was hard to get a picture without a person in it!

The hike up to Lindeman Lake is worth every second. The lake is stunning!

Nice hike, well-marked in the lower part but somewhat erratic nearing the St. Mark’s peak. Roots can be tricky in this last km of the hikes. Beautiful view from up there. Whiskey Jacks make their presence known.

It was hella hard but if you take frequent breaks and bring good, energy giving snacks and at least two bottles of water per person, you can do it! I felt like the first quarter was harvest when it came to terrain, so when they say it’s harder for the first quarter, it depends on your perspective. Great view at the top and so very worth it!

Love this hike. Wow, the view on top it's really amazing. I recommend to everyone.

nice relaxing trail near the water

Great trail, good cardio if you have average walking speed. also on the way dow have some acceleration definitely not boring, will do it again. Cons: busy trail with a lot dogs and some times people don’t clean up the poop.
