Hot hike. Great wildlife viewing.

This is a difficult hike, but very rewarding once you get to the top. The views are worth it! There were some wildflowers when I went, but I think I missed the peak time for flowers this year.

Great combination of open field and shade from the trees. Path was well marked and the sand was good for the dogs. Not busy at all Sunday afternoon. Great easy trail.

Easy trail for sure. Good portion of it shaded. Great for kids or for trail running. Well marked trail with nice views. Good place to take out of Townes not used to the elevation.

This was a great hike with versatile scenery. You had meadows, mountain views, walking in the woods, open area. We saw wild turkey. It wasn’t difficult nor too easy to hike. There were log benches scattered on the trail and easy signs to follow. Yes there is horse poop along the trails but just step aside. We went on a Sunday midday and there were people but not crowded. We plan to make this a regular one.

Awesome hike. I would rate this hike as difficult. I did it as a youth more than 40 years ago and it hard then. I am 57 years old my wife and I did this beautifull hike today. it took us 6.5 hours to complete. We took our time a we were rewarded with breath taking views just above timberline. I would highly recommend this lightly traveled trail.

This was a great 5.5 miles venture, 2.3 miles was the upper loop. There was a couple other out and back trails, not included in the 5.5 miles. Took two moderately active people an hour and 45 minutes. Saw a coyote.

I took a friend from out of town on this trail on Tuesday and we were almost completely alone. We saw one other couple on mile one then no one for the entire rest of it. It was great, the views form the pass were awesome. We sat on a rock and ate lunch, you have a great view of Mount Evans from there. The 4 solid miles of climbing wasn't the easiest but certainly not too bad. I took someone who lives at sea level and he did just fine with it.

Enjoyable and beautiful location! A great option for someone new to trail running! The trail is narrow and has a couple sharper turns; I did see a couple biking and could imagine it's not a good spot for mountain bikers who don't want to take it slow. Ultimately a place I look forward to visiting again!

It’s a great spot close to Lincoln Ave in Lone Tree. The view at the top where bench is located gives a panoramic view of the DTC and downtown Denver. This hike is well marked and has many wide areas. Watch out for the mountain bikers as they come down some of the inclines. It would be best to do this trail in the morning during the summer as there is minimal shade.

A nice easy/moderate hike that got my heart rate up reasonably well. Did most of the loop and encountered < 10 people @ 9AM on a Saturday

I hiked this trail last weekend, for the first time. In my opinion, it is moderate/hard because it gets steep at the top. Despite earlier reviews, the saddle is about 6 miles from the trailhead. I hike another 1.5 miles down toward the lakes but had to turn around due to time. The descent from the saddle can be pretty tricky at certain points.

Great easy trail with scenic views. Some nice shade along the way

Great trail, very scenic. The service road going to the top nearly killed me

I completed this hike on 3/24 and at that time it was scorching on this trail. Highly recommend sunscreen and ample water regardless of what time of year you are heading up here. There is no sign that clearly marks the start of this trail, so do keep watch of the two pipes overhead, that’ll be your indicator that you’ve reached the start of the trail. This was a pretty strenuous and long hike. As everyone else has mentioned there are sharp shrubs throughout the trail so shield your arms as best you can.

I would rate this more on the easy side -a pleasant walk. Nice views from the top.

This has been our favorite trail so far. We hiked the entire path with our dog and sons (ages 7 & 9). The scenery was beautiful and the path was perfect. It wasn’t too hilly and very doable for kids. When you hit the split path sign, I definitely recommend taking the Stairway to Heaven. It added a little bit of distance but it was well worth the extra effort. Everything was very well-marked and there weren’t too many other people. Oh, but you do need to watch out for horse poop. We will definitely be returning to this trail.

The trail start is well explained by All Trails and path very clear to follow once you climb the steep ledge - views are awesome! Breeze was great today! Pants a must and do walk through some brush - so arms up or wear long sleeves! I went with arms up! There are steep areas that a rough on descent down with loose sand and rocks - go cautiously and you will be fine! No One was there today but me!

if you enjoy urban sprawl and garbage throughout a park, and of course high speed bikes whizzing by, then this is the place to go! oh and lots of green poop sacks throughout park since no one really manages it. Also a ton of recent heavy equipment tier tracks on north side between idiot developer's neighborhood in flood plain the County loves to RIP up annually protecting homes built in natural wash area. Years ago, this was a nice park, now, just an area that collects urban trash during wind storms full of yuppies discussing their latest stock trades.....AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANT A PLACE TO RELAX...

Even though Adam reads the All Trails reviews about wearing pants, hiking boots and carrying poles and gloves, Adam hikes the Goat Mountain trail in running shorts and his legs get eaten up by the thick vegetation. Ascending the very steep Goat Mountain Trail, he slips and slides in his running shoes. Don’t be like Adam.

Addendum: The trail is rather challenging, but rather fun. Didn’t see one other soul after leaving Waterton for Goat Mountain.

Amazing trail if you are in need of getting your heart rate up. It’s mostly uphill all the way around, and the view is beautiful of the mountains and city. Dog friendly and you may even see some horses! Making it to the top is well worth it!

One of my favorite hikes! This morning I trekked up Spruce Mountain, then down the steep, rocky service road to the Greenland Trail. Doing this nice 5-6 mile loop allows you such varied terrain: stunning overlooks from up high down through serene scrub oak and pine forest to beautiful prairie and meadows below. Lovely!

Beautiful little hike, about 5.5 miles. Went today at about 8 AM and there was very little traffic on the trail. Came down about 1030 and there was a few more people coming up but not crowded at all. Horses, bikes, and hikers all had plenty of room from what I saw. I felt the trail itself was easy, but for those who aren't experienced the first 1.5 miles could probably be a little more tiring.

Great trail with awesome views at the top. The trail connects to other trails in the Pike National Forest as well. Looking forward to going back!

Lots of wildflowers folks!
