good day hike. remember to pack enough clothes with elevation change from bottom to the top the temperature and weather can change pretty quickly.

good for kids would be great in summer

I did this trail in December and mostly had it to myself on a rare sunny day in the middle of the week. The falls are huge and breathtaking. The trail is well maintained with some small inclines. There was a little ice on the inclines when I went which made it a little slippery in spots but not bad. The stairs down to the falls are worth the effort. A good short little hike and workout.

I took this little trail in December. I had it all to myself. It’s a nice little waterfall and peaceful place to be outside. Good for families with children.

Not strenuous at all, but a nice wide, relatively flat walk along the riverside with smaller falls appearing first and then a beautiful high set of falls at the end of mile. Take your mom.

My favorite hike! Push yourself to get to the top! I was nervous about doing the switchback at the end because it looked steep with loose stones but I went up anyway and the views were incredible, so happy I did.

A fun hike. A bit muddy but we enjoyed it. Kids did better than myself who slipped a few times. There's a small river to go through...seemed a lot didn't realize this. Wear proper hiking shoes or an extra set.

Waterfall was really nice and tucked away. A bit crowded for a few moments. Overall a cool hike.

Great trails, very crowded on a weekend when the weather is nice. Hiked the High Falls Loop today starting at the main parking lot going to High Falls then Triple Falls & back on the High Falls Loop to the parking lot.

Beautiful view!

Great day to do the hike, especially since the state park was closed so not may tourists around. Total mileage was 12.2.

View at the top is worth it! Very muddy right now, and our watches showed 3 miles each way

Maligne Canyon is a spectacularly beautiful place to go for a hike and marvel at this incredible natural wonder and there are plenty of photo opportunities along this scenic trail. I hiked here in August 2017.

The canyon is located only a ten minute drive from the town of Jasper and is easily accessible. It's a popular place for visitors to explore, but if you arrive early in the morning (7:30 or 8 am), you will beat most of the crowds.

You can start the hike from various points along the canyon. I started from the parking lot at the Fifth Bridge and hiked uphill along the canyon to the First Bridge and then downhill on the way back, which I preferred.

The trail follows alongside the canyon the entire hike and the scenery gets more and more beautiful the closer you get to the First Bridge. Although there was some elevation gain, the inclines were fairly gentle and nothing too difficult or steep at all.

The narrow canyon was so deep and beautiful and the surrounding scenery was gorgeous! It was incredible to imagine how the power of water had eroded and carved this gorge over many years. I actually preferred Maligne to Johnston Canyon in Banff and found it to be more breathtaking and less crowded and touristy.

There were incredible viewpoints of the canyon from the Fourth, Third, Second and First Bridges and at various points along the way too.

There were bathrooms at the trailhead of the Fifth and First Bridges in the parking area and a restaurant near the First Bridge as well.

The hike from the Fifth Bridge to the First and back took me around 2.5 hours including my many stops for taking photos and admiring the awe-inspiring natural beauty.

If you are staying in Jasper, Maligne Canyon is definitely worth exploring. It was one of the highlights from my trip to the area.

Dear lord this was a hard trail. Me and my two best friends went camping together and we spontaneously decided to do this trail for some reason. The whole thing is pretty much uphill but the view... my god the view was incredible at the top. It was so breathtaking it made the whole hike worth it. Just a note: the three of us are not in peak physical condition. I’m moderately fit but have hypoglycemia and a syncope problem, one friend has asthma and hypoglycemia but she runs frequently, and the second friend just casually works out. It took a while to go up and down this monster but we managed it.

Great, easy hike. Beautiful the whole way. My kids love going there. However there are lots of snakes in the summer

Beautiful views all along the way. We saw a coatimundi on our way to the last set of pools. The hike up the mountain had spectacular view of mountains and city. There many interesting rock formations and places to stop and admire the views. Parts were rocky and steep but not too difficult. The last pool and small waterfall was superb. You can keep hiking beyond that point along some running water. The path, if you wanted to keep going, would take you all the way to the top of Mount Lemmon!

Great Hike....Took 10 year old daughter and 6 year old Son....Was a little difficult in some places for kids, but they were able to complete...Took us like 2 1/2 hours to make it up to the second pool and took 2 hours back....Was worth the hike beautiful views!!!! We loved it and are looking forward to doing hike again....

Nice easy hike that follows creek up to falls. Super muddy yesterday 1/1/19 due to all of the rain. Don’t forget your boots

Loved the view from the top, but there wasn't much of a view at all till the overlook. Some of the other climbs we hiked had a several views along the way, this one was forest until the overlook.
Still, a fun hike, with a breathtaking view. The single vantage point, and reasonably heavy amount of traffic will probably keep me from going back, but I think it was absolutely worth doing once!

Great views. Not too difficult of a hike. Definitely worth it!

Amazing hike for very little effort! Awesome family hike!!! Highly recommend

A good workout. Steep in places. Mostly rocky. Nice views. I prefer trails that are loops versus out and back to maximize views. It was worth it though.

Went on the last day of the year, and went a little further than the hike shows on the app. Great people of all ages on the trail, beautiful scenery and a little bit of water running. Some cold air was whipping thru the canyon and made us glad we bundled up a bit

Went on a cloudy, rainy and windy day. Most would’ve stayed home but we went anyway - so glad we did. Although the fog and clouds obscured the long views. Being out in adverse conditions imparts the beauty of nature upon one in a unique way. So great to feel the winds whipping and appreciating the power of the earth. Btw - no crowds when bad weather - try it sometime.

Fun trail with breathtaking views at the top! It’s a decent hike up - also super muddy from all the rain. There were also a ton of people hiking this trail. After you get through the switchbacks, it’s a steady incline up. Bring a snack and enjoy the view at the top.

Easy hike to the falls. Today the trails were very muddy due to all of the recent rain. The new bridges definitely help with the water crossings.

Short and easy trail for those who do not want serious hiking. Very muddy December 29 due to lots of rain.

Quick and easy one, no views because of the fog but the snow and icicles were beautiful.

Beautiful day. Great views. Recommend micro-spikes for winter ascents. Ice covered sections of the trail near the top. I also have to question that 10.4 mile out and back rating. It's more like 13 to 14 miles. Definitely on the difficult side but well worth the effort.

Overall I would rate a B+. Experienced Hiker. trail as not strenuous at all. a touch but muddy. Not to many people on the trail, popular trail for the dogs though. Old Britsh man at the top asked if I wanted to share a pint with, I accepted the gracious offer. View was decent. Over all a good hike.

Short easy hike to an amazing waterfall. Some interesting history to read at the trail head regarding the falls. Went on a early weekday morning and had the trail all to myself which was nice. Some rock hoping required to get a good view of the falls but it's worth it!
