Decently challenging hike. Beautiful views. Gets pretty steep and slick.

Beautiful! Larches were amazing.
I would consider this a hard hike, for the length and up and downs, some friends and I did the triple crown of Canmore this year and I thought this hike was more like those for difficulty.
This took our group 5 hours with lots of picture stops and lunch.
People said there was 4 peaks, but it felt more like 10!
Poles were nice and if you have spikes for your shoes it helps in several places.
Spectacular 360 view on the ridge!
We started on the south end and were glad we did. Definitely have your gps out and check it often.
Over all loved it!

This a great hike for families. My kids (ages 6 and 10) handled it beautifully. The bridges are fun to cross and they enjoyed jumping from rock to rock in places. You may see climbers so look up!

Nice, moderate hike. Not too busy during July! Worth a day trip to Peter Lougheed- you will more than likely see a mountain goat or two! Only complaint is that it wasn’t longer. This hike could easily be tacked on to another day hike while in the park.

Very easy hike- great for a family with small kids!

back tracked a bit trying to keep on the trail, may have been a gps issue w the app. a nice inner city walk, saw a few deer

Very beautiful with the colors of the trees! Loved it!

Great hike! We did it in the middle of winter and it was fairly slippery. We slid down on our bums the whole way back and it made for some amazing memories ;)

Such a beautiful hike! Not too hard to get up and such rewarding scenery. It was quite chilly and windy even in the middle of summer so bring a jacket in case. I will definitely be going back on this hike <3

This trail was a little hard to find as there is no signage or reception in the area, definitely do your research prior to starting! Once you locate it, the first peak is a steep uphill climb! Beautiful larches, and amazing 360 views along the way. Took us about 4.5 hours with multiple stops for pictures to complete the 9kms.

Great place to hike for any age. Make sure you have proper footwear as it is quite rocky - a lady making her way up had fallen and hurt her ankle (hope you are doing ok!) If you go in the late morning/early afternoon it's quite busy all the way up to the waterfall, take a left and follow that trail into a nice open spot with inuksuks and hoodoos, we stayed in that area for half an hour and didn't see many others.

Great hike with very rewarding views from the ridge. We started from the Highwood Pass parking lot and unfortunately took a left turn in the beginning of the trail that lead us up to the mountain overlooking the parking lot. We encountered several other people making the mistake, so keep an eye on the map until you reach the first alpine meadow. After that the trail is easy to follow. The hike is moderate and took us about 4-5 hours to complete with a lunch break at the beginning of the ridge. We ended the hike at the little Highwood Pass parking lot, where we had a second car parked. Would absolutely recommend this hike!

This ones on my top five under six. Beautiful quick incline all the way up, trails are quite clear; lots of foot traffic. If you make it to the flag at the peak the views are spectacular.
On a side note if you head right at the top you can also do Miners Peak so you can check off two amazing hikes in one day trip. Happy hiking.

Gorgeous! Colours are starting to change. Lots of people out yesterday. Short hike with amazing views. Steep ascend. Easy if fit but will still wind you. Take your time and enjoy. It’s short and spectacular!

It’s a nice hike but would be neat in summer when there is water flowing in the creek/river. Go right to the cave and climb up to it.

Great short hike with the first km a steady slope but doable for most levels. Don’t rush it to the top as it is a fairly quick hike. Take a couple of rests and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Highly recommend it in early fall as you can see a celebration of colors! At the end of the rocky path (after the second mini-waterfall) there is a very small remainder of a glacier which is nice to see.

Short, but has great views! Definitely worth the hour and a bit to do! If I had enough time I would have sat and ate lunch while taking in the views. I started hiking at about 8:50am, not many people to run into at this time, then by the time we started heading back the people started coming.

My go-to for a quick but rewarding trip if you have limited time.

Expérience incroyable! Quel ascension! Un vrai bonheur! La vue est incroyable!!

good one to do this afternoon with my dog (hot day) as the path is the shade (treed) most of the way. we missed the trail head so had to back track a little. parked on the left near the powderface sign, hence missed the start as no signage of when to take the path to the left... its open and straight up! will do again, but when it's less smoky so can enjoy the view at top.

I love this hike and was hoping to squeeze it in on sept 8th. Can anyone confirm if it’s open? I was there two weeks ago and the sign said it would be open by aug 28th.

Great for meditation

Still closed on Sept. 6.

A challenging trail with fantastic views! Start at the south end to shave a bit of elevation off and get to the top of the main peak first. Keep your eyes open for bighorn sheep.

Thinking about hiking it Sept 8th, 2018. Can someone confirm the trail is still closed?

Easy walk- I wouldn’t even call it a hike. I think anyone could do it. Nice forest views and the waterfall at the end was pretty. It’s a trail I would go running on.

Did this hike today 3 September 2018. Conveniently only an hour from Calgary. As others have said, you will drive past the trail head and park on your left in the little parking lot. Then you cross Highway 66 and walk towards your right, passing at least one other trail before you get to this one.

Arrived just after a heavy morning rain so there were not many people on the trail. A lot of the hike is through forest, emerging from time to time in the open air and then to a kind of open field at the top. No scrambling or scree towards the top just a pretty easy walk up to a beautiful view and a rock cairn with a flag planted in it. There was light snow on the ground in the trees starting at about halfway up the hill. There are some steep sections on the way up to test your cardio, but not too strenuous. I enjoyed walking through the forest parts but from the comments below I gather that is not for everyone. All in all I thought it was a great hike. Would do it again
