great hike. With a few inches of new snow it was beautiful. Just right. we used Microspikes and were fine. Met some with snowshoes but we did fine by 10:30 on the way down snow was a bit soft. Great day.

Great trail with great views of Echo Lake and Cannon ski trails. Trail is still icy in parts, made the descent somewhat tricky. Wouldn’t attempt again for a few weeks until the ice is clear.

Fun trip today! We took the appreciation route down and it was pretty icy- we definitely weren’t prepared for that but it was still a fun time!

Definitely recommend doing the short, but steep hike up to Bald Mountain. Adds a little bit of distance and a lot of elevation, but worth the work. I recommend spikes on the loop. Hiked this today and the trail conditions vary all around...snow, then ice, then mud, then ice covered in snow. I'm sure this will continue the next couple weeks as the weather warms up, so just use caution.

this trail pleasantly surprised me! was much steeper and more of a workout than anticipated! we took the blue blazed trail. steep for the first half or more, then levels off a bit until you get to the falls. I wore crampons which came in handy - the snow was well packed down but was starting to melt so it was a little slippery. doable for any level hiker if you take your time. this trail was SO well marked. such a reward at the end! the falls are breathtaking. our pup loved this trail! enjoy!

It’s a great and easy trail. It’s fun to run up.

Pretty easy until the last quarter of a mile, nice views at the top.

Pretty steep, although fairly short. The views are great, especially from Bald Mountain. Artist’s Bluff might be unsettling to those with a fear of heights.

Good hike; continuous and easy elevation gain, trail easy to follow, and decent views. Even with the new snow the trail is pretty well packed down and quick to hike. Took about 40 mins to summit from trail head. Just wore winter boots and had trek poles. Crampons are not necessary.

Easy hike, great views, considering the effort. Unfortunately, it was pretty cloudy when we went, so the views were not as good as they can be. It was still nice, though, and I’m sure it’s spectacular on a clear day.

Surprisingly easy hike, the trail steadily ascends the mountain at an easy-to-moderate grade. At the top, when you find yourself looking into Crawford Notch, 1,000 feet below, you'll be surprised that you hiked all the way up from there. The summit has unique views, however, it also has an enormous cliff, so be cautious if you have children or are afraid of heights.

my boyfriend and I hiked this 2 years ago, in early September. Great hike. Not too strenuous, nice views. Great for kids and beginners.

Good trail for walking the Dog before leaving her behind for a day of skiing at Bretton Woods! This would also be a great trail for families with elementary aged children to introduce their kids to hiking(there is even a great picnic place up top).

Pros: Easy and accessible in the winter.

Good views (especially considering the effort)

The trail steadily ascents at a gentle incline.

Cons:
I was surprised how busy the trail was considering it was end of February on a Tuesday (although it was NH school vacation week). I can imagine this place would get packed in the summer.

one of my favorite views! well marked, and well groomed. steady incline. would be suitable for any level hiker - just take your time if you are a beginner! our puppy did great! huge reward for a shorter hike. happy trails!

We couldn't believe what a view for less than a mile hike. The White's are gorgeous and this little hike gets you the million dollar view. Still trying to figure out why people wouldn't give this 5 stars.

Fairly easy hike with terrific views of Echo Lake and the ski trails at Cannon. Plenty of parking. In warmer weather, you can go for a post-hike swim.

Amazing view! It's a great winter hike for beginners, I am incredibly out of shape so I struggled slightly in the snow. But it was totally manageable.

Beautiful scenery, and waterfalls were incredible. Huge, and ice is thick enough you can walk close to the falls and see the water running underneath.

Icy trail (after rain and hard freeze and significant foot traffic). Would not do Bemis Brook without crampons. Blue-blazed trail running straight to the falls is doable or even easy without them, though difficult in spots.

Incredible open summit views of Mt Moosilauke, Franconia Ridge, and the Green Mountains.

Warning: much of the trail is currently a thick sheet of ice with an inch of soft snow covering. Extremely slippery even with crampons. Recommend waiting for heavier snowfall to better cover the ice.

Thought I would need snow shoes but that’s not the case today. Had the it to myself and the fall was so beautiful

An enjoyable hike on a fairly wide trail passing scenic streams on the way up to a gorgeous vista. A must do in all 4 seasons. While not a 360 view, it will take your breath away.

This is a great trail if you are new to winter hiking.

Excellent hike, the trail was very packed down and micro spikes is all most would've really needed but I decided just to use my snowshoes instead. The trail overall isn't very steep and offers a very rewarding view once you reach the summit, the trail itself doesn't offer many views along the way but I could see it be very nice in other seasons as there is waterfall and river that flows beside it for parts.

Great views and easy to navigate

very nice in winter !!

I thought it was a pretty easy hike (besides the icyness towards the top) for one of the most gorgeous waterfalls I've ever seen. The chipmunks and squirrels were so cute :) Stop and take a moment to smell the Balsam fir needles, just like christmas, not sure if they're only fragrant in the winter? It was like a dream, go see the beauty for yourself!

Did it in 3.1 miles round trip (alltrails says 3.2 but that's splitting hairs). Gradual incline is relatively constant through the ascent, with few views on the trail aside from a peek through the trees in some spots.

The view at the top, however, makes this quick hike totally worthwhile, as the frequently heavy trail traffic would suggest. This is THE hike for the best views of Crawford Notch for minimal effort.

Mount Webster is the dominant feature that will catch your gaze, but the 200(ish) degree-view spans back to Eisenhower, and over to Mount Field and Tom on the other side.

very gentle grade. short hike, but the view makes it worth doing - just don't expect solitude maybe pair with other trails nearby. super easy in a bit of snow, so I don't know about rocks and roots.
