Scenic. We hiked in the afternoon which was ideal as it was shaded. Majestic views all around! We hiked from the 6th tram stop back down to the 5th. Enjoyable.

Easy enough hike, could be at the top and down again in under an hour. If you are looking to stretch the legs before a more advance hike I suggest this one. Views are incredible from above

easy hike, if you can call it that. it is less than 30 minutes but a fun experience if you have the time.

Short, easy hike. Nice cool place

Although the grade is steep to walk up to the falls, I didn't feel this was a hike - more of a walk up to the falls. This is a good trail for families because it's paved and wide. Just be careful nobody slips on the water.
This is a short hike, so every time I'm in Zion, I tack it onto my other hikes.

A lovely hike if you're looking for a trail that takes you by (and in) water. It'll cool you off a little if you're a summer hiker.

very short steep hike, less than 10 minutes to the top.

Challenging and fun.. very little shade, but I knew it would given it is Vegas.. Trail isn’t marked too welll...

Incline up the hills weren't to bad but the offroad rocks at the start are a bit of a pain to walk. Only one sign letting you know you're still on the path. Couple of extra markers would be nice. Almost turned around because I wasn't sure if I was on the correct path.

Moderately difficult hike with some scrambling near the peak . great views of LV from the top.

Easy short trail with very nice plants and very good views

The first half was easy. And very enjoyable. the second half the trail pretty much disappeared. loose rocks and scrambling. the long slope to the top was very boring and dull. it's a very hard walk. after I was done I could have kicked myself and should have done more Scenic hike. but I made it to the top.

Hiked this in the spring and once before. Fun but quite crowded.

Interesting short hike that is steep for the most part. The information on plants is nice as you go up. The water coming off the rocks is refreshing.

I'm from Vegas and my sister and I would do this hike a couple times every summer. If it's in the summer, though, you should make sure to get an early start because there's no tree cover until you get to the slope of the actual mountain and even then, it's just some short and pretty sparse junipers. The hike is long and the "trail" becomes less defined as you get closer to the slope of the mountain, so my sister and I would usually end up taking whichever route we wanted that given day, often the wash that was still shaded by the peak. The view at the top isn't great just because visibility isn't great, but otherwise, getting to the top feels pretty good. I would recommend this hike to anyone, just make sure you bring plenty of water!

Due to flood damage we were only able to hike the lower emerald pool. Not a bad hike but nothing overly special either. I’m sure it would have been a much better hike if we had access to the middle and upper pools.

Did this hike and added the Grotto Trail. The Upper Pool is crowded and is difficult to get pics without people in the Pool. Many People were in the Pool with no Consideration for others taking photos.

We've done this twice on bikes and would do it again any day or night. Perfect views of lake mead and the tunnels are great. At the end there a a restroom, water fountain, and picnic table with gazebo. Perfect first date destination.

Very short hike but a fun stopping point. My 5 year old was surprised and proclaimed, “We are done already?!” Our kids quickly tipped their heads back and stuck out their tongues to catch the falling water drops. Pretty views, nice and cool under the water and shade, quick hike. Add it in with a few other hikes since it’s so short.

Hot in July but great views

Been a few years since I hiked this trail. It was my first hike in a long time so I found out real quick that I was out of shape (even though I was 7% body fat). I went home exhausted and burnt from the lack of shade and poor preparation, but it was the beginning of a hiking/climbing journey. Since then, I’ve hiked and climbed all over the country!

Short steep walk to weeping rocks
Worth the hike
Amazing views and cooling off in weeping water

This train is hot but there is a great place to cool off at the top AND when you get done, get in the water! The Virgin River is relatively warm and shallow and a great way to end the hike.

It’s really pretty if you go to the upper pools, there are a lot of people and kids who almost knock you over coming up. Beautiful sights the whole way up the upper pool is breathtaking. Please remember not to go in the pools as it is a source of water for the wildlife

So more of a park and look. This is a great picture and experience on the way up towards observation point or hidden canyon. It is cool to see the constant rain of water. However, dont make this your only reason of riding the bus out there.

Great hike but there was a couple of areas that were a little treacherous

Quick. Shady. Some good views. VERY crowded. Simple hike to do with the family. We seem to stop in at the pools after doing a few other hikes.

Nice, fairly easy trail. When we went the pool levels were down so not as scenic as it normally would be in the spring.

You can see by my rating of this trail how I feel about Turtlehead…

…but just because I did not totally enjoy it does not mean that you won’t.

The pros first:
1. Turtlehead is one of the more challenging trails at Red Rock.
2. The views from the peak are magnificent.
3. Wildlife can be observed.

…so what’s not to like right?

Well, for me, compared to other trails at Red Rock, the trail to the top is boring: Rocks and Junipers with little variation; the one Red Rock trail that come close to this level of monotony is the last few miles of the White Rock loop where the old road ends.

Wild life is around but hard to spot unless you are towards the top where I saw four of Bird of Prey; I think a Prairie Falcon and Crows. I did see some kind of ground Birds towards the trail head, along the wash; Chukar, most likely. Those two sightings were the highlight of my hike.

The trail is challenging and, at times, downright dangerous and that has never stopped me from hiking a trail but there is usually some variation. I did like the challenge and some of the danger but most of the danger was from loose scree which was more annoying. The hike to the abandoned mines at La Madre Springs has a similar amount of scree but with variation.

Some Tips:

Regarding heat management/water… I hiked at midday in some serious heat, took tons of rests but finding shade was hard; I drank 3 liters of water but could have used 4. If you hike during peak heat expect that kind of water consumption. Camel up at the car and wet down your clothes and hats: that should keep you good in the heat for the first 2 or so hours. Sometimes I pack my pockets with micro fiber cloths and wet those down too. Conserve your sweat, not your water.

Rest when you need to, the heat causes your heart rate to rise so break when you are tired and don’t over exert yourself till you are descending from the peak. When resting wait for your heart rate to get nice and low, preferably in the shade.

Gloves would be a good idea because there is some class 3 scrambling. I took a hiking pole with me and I am pretty sure it was helpful your results may vary.

If I did not stop to take pictures, the hike would have taken me about 5 hours due the numerous rest breaks I took going up: three going up and two going down.

Great hike in Zion, trail leads to three different stops. You can take the paved trail to the first pool and then turn back, or go on to the other two pools. The trail gets more difficult after the first pool.
