Trail was easy and view point was stunning. However way too crowded to really enjoy. Went-mid morning mid-week and lots of toddlers/children running around. People were hoarding the best spots for photos. Probably not something I would do again. Unless VERY early in the morning.

If you're a family this is great. If you just want to do a simple/quiet hike alone/with a dog this is not it.

This is a great little trail for running. The entrance is wet, but once you get beyond the initial swamp area, the trail is well marked & an easy trail run. The Pond is peaceful & worth the 0.9 mile walk/hike/run in

Easy trail, pretty waterfall with benches to sit and enjoy

Great view on a clear day. Moderate to easy grade.

Quick trail with a view

Great family friendly hike. Easy enough but a decent workout. My dog loved it too. Beautiful views of Squam Lake at the top.

Great trail completely deserted/ like being out in the wilderness

Great trail! We took my 3 year old on the red trail and he loved it. Love the history too!

It’s a great loop you can choose to make long or short. The dog had a great time.

lots of folks with dogs, noisy on top headed over to east rattlesnake a great day go breeze

Nice well maintained trails. We took old bridal path to Col trail and made a loop after reaching the peak of west rattle snake. We did a lot of down hill climbing on Col trail before ascending up. A relatively easy trail. We had a four yr old w us who did just great.

Family did this trail today with a 6 yo and 2 yo in a backpack. Perfect length, great view at the top, and clearly marked.

My recording didn't work, but I loved this hike! I took a left onto the blue trail from the trailhead, then a right onto the orange trail, which takes you to Gilfillan Rock (cool glacial erratic) and a nice mountain vista. a short distance after the rock, you come to the yellow trail. I initially took a right here, but hit on the blue, which would take me back to the parking lot. I turned around and went back up the yellow trail to catch the view of the lake.

Overall, a really rewarding and fun hike! My dog did great. We got perfect weather and were the only people in the trails.

Well maintained. Great for kids and dogs. Definitely not moderate but easy. Very short. Would not do again.

my family and I did this hike today we have a 9 yo and a 5 yo they had no problem. Beautiful views!

Fun, fairly simple hike routes for the most part. Blue trail is definitely more vigorous, don’t recommend that one for small children.
Well marked (colored) trails.

easy hike with beautiful views!

Moderately busy at height of the season but worth the short climb for the view.

Great trail. Well maintained. Hike is good for kids and dogs (there were many dogs the day we went).
View is great at the top.
Parking was tricky we had to park on the road (be sure not to be over the white line if you’re on the road because we saw people getting ticketed).

Amazing view awarded after a relatively easy hiking under 40 minutes. Perfect for young kids and dogs. The view at the top is unobstructed and there is plenty room to roam around and take a rest. The trail can get muddy at places (we went after a few days on rain) but it doesn't get slippery. Highly recommended.

Nice, easy trail. Great for kids. Great views!

Now that I've done it I can see why it earns the top spot for the best trail in the area. The trail to the west rattlesnake mountain is easy but interesting every step of the way. The panoramic view of Squam Lake from the West Rattlesnake Mountain is absolutely memorable. I've recently purchased a nice 12x binocular for the hike and what an absolute treat.

I was able to see kayakers, sail boats and distant houses from the gorgeous summit. There is a good reason why this mountain always pack a crowd. There are plenty of shade so we really enjoyed the picnic food as well. The way back is even easier and more enjoyable as it is an easy downhill stroll all the way. This is one trail that I will definitely do again.
