Great trail for intermediate mountain biking. A few tough spots but well worth the ride to Berry Creek falls. Saw plenty of friendly hikers and a few other bikers.

Lots of steep uphill but the scenery is worth it

Hike was better than I expected. Even though it is not a rain season, still pretty good waterfalls. Curiously my GPS showed roundtrip to be just under 15 miles. Not sure how to account for discrepancy.

Hike in Napa area near St. Helena through canyon (good for shade in summer) with main attraction of swimming hole at the end. Trail itself is ok, along a river for part of it, decently maintained, easy trail not crowded on a summer weekday

This is my favorite trail from back home to solo hike! Trails are really nicely done and the hills definitely make sure you’re working hard the entire time. If you have the energy, I would recommend hiking up to the Black Mountain Peak for really great views and a different sort of terrain!

Just spent the weekend on this trail. Fishing was amazing at the Kearsage Lakes! Hiking in from onion valley was rough but a huge accomplishment when we reached the top of the pass. The decent into the Kearsage Lakes from the pass is very fast. When we packed out it only took us 3 hours because most of this 11 miles is down hill on the onion valley side. This was my first time backpacking in the Seirras and coming from the east coast this trip was a real eye opener. I would recommend this trail to anyone that thinks they can tough it out. Weather is getting a bit cold this time of year now. Low’s were in the teens at night and there was some snow at about 10,000 feet.

Challenging but fun, great views.

One of my favorite hikes!

Resumed hiking after 2 years with this one. We also followed counter clockwise. About 4 hours we completed with few stops. It was difficult but I was able to complete. falls, birds, redwoods and you will enjoy.

great hike! it took us just under 6 hours to finish. we got there at 7 in the morning and finished just right before 1. it was tiring but the view is beautiful for when you want to rest! bring plenty of water and enjoy.

great hike!

the first one mile is mostly exposed so are first two miles of the return loop. the hard parts are all in the first half of loop. once you reach the top power transmission tower then it's all downhill and you can enjoy the view. if you have enough strength then it's worthy to continue to black mountain tower for 4 more miles round trip.

Day hike to Kearsarge Lakes after three inches of fresh overnight pow. The trail is super gradual and easy on the knees as you climb to Kearsarge Pass (compared to other high elevation trails in California). Don’t stop at the pass! Descend to the lakes and be treated to the reflection of the mountains towering above you. Definitely in my top three favorite hikes.

Beautiful coastal hike. Two ups and downs - the downs a bit tricky with small loose rocks

A bit tough. I’d take everyone’s advice and do counterclockwise, we unfortunately did the opposite per the rangers suggestion and we only saw one other couple doing it this way. Much easier doing it counterclockwise and I know why now. Beautiful place and waterfalls are amazing to see.

Outstanding views of the Bay from SF to Martinez. It was a nice cool autumn day, so the exposure was no problem, but if not, make sure you have a hat. Lots of alternative tracks to explore, but you're mostly hiking on the top of the hills so nice views, but not a lot of differentiation. Plenty of hawks soaring!

Awesome trail for a Sunday. Incredible views at the top. Remember to wear/ bring sunscreen though, I got super burned.

Long hike that goes along the coast. Gets crowded by noon. Was foggy the entire time I hiked, so no views, but I could see how it would be gorgeous on a clear day.

♥️♥️♥️

It is a decent trail and is easy to moderate. I started at 3 PM and hardly found anyone on track as compared to morning counterpart. Initial trail has buzz of electrical lines which is distracting to an extent but the ascent keeps you occupied. There isn't any scenic view apart from the valley view which points where the concrete jungle is. Path is well marked and in between you get patches of trees which is a real solace in hot sun. After first 4 miles with the elevation gain of 1.7k feet, it is normal decent back to start point.

Not too crowded for mid-day Sunday. Great hike if you want something quick with great views and a good mix of up hill/down hill. Seems like it’d be great for trail running too.

all time favorite ..good incline and fully shaded .

Nice variety, lots of scenic vistas. There are lots of parking lots along the trail, so there are constantly a lot of people doing shorter hikes and carrying things to the beach. At times it was one step away from waiting in line to pass the steep parts. A lot of the hikers were unprepared for steep sandy slopes so dealing with people half-falling down the downhills was also a negative for me.

We loved this hike!!! My Hubby and I set out for a 5 mile hike so we only went to Flower Lake

Bring water and look out for banana slugs! Great hike.

Awesome 1st 4 mi hike, cake after

Started early and by the time we reached it was around 7:15 am and cold. Very few cars were parked due to the cold I guess. Found initially little confusing where the trail started and took us some time to get on the trail. As per the review I read by lots of hikers we wanted to do the anti clock wise hike but came across a detour sign asking us the go on the clock wise direction. We ended up doing that and did not encounter any one until we reached the falls and decided to try the other side to get back to the parking when saw few people coming from the counter clockwise side of the trail. There was no issue with the trail not sure why they had put a detour sign. Took 5 1/2 hrs for us to finish the trail.

So gorgeous! Tough hike but a good one!
