it's a decent trail, watch out for baby snakes along the way. in the summer, you'll be ganged up by mosquitoes
the worst part is there aren't enough signboards near the parking lots to get you started on a trail, so it's very confusing.
the trails themselves are good and peaceful, well maintained and mildly challenging

First off, $13 parking fee. The park was under-construction so there were areas of the trail that were inaccessible. The landscape was gorgeous. Didn’t make it to the falls but it seemed busy coming from that direction.

Nice trail, and u can swim to!

Felt like more of a walk than a hike. Either super sunny or all shade and bugs. Some steep hills which is a good challenge but since it’s all graded felt more like a walk than a hike. The falls were great to see though but PACKED with people swimming and lounging. I’d suggest a weekday.

We hiked a combination of mountain bike and paved trails, approximately 4 miles. Very nice!

enjoyable trail with a variety of sites (river, forest, quiet residential parks). much of it was technically closed but still accessible. it's not possible to do the entire loop due to flooding and construction.

nice paved trails

great view

There are a few steep hills but nothing crazy. Mostly out in the open, not a lot of shade and no water sources. Also the drawdown of the lake doesn’t leave you with great water views. But still a good hike.

Mostly flat loop with a couple of steeper sections on the south end. Passes through a wide variety of habitats: prairie, forest, and wetland. Above average bird viewing. Check yourself for ticks when you finish.

If you go early in the morning on a weekday, it's very empty and peaceful. The later you go in the day, the more heavy traffic you will see. The waterfall is worth the walk. Beware of snakes, especially if you have little ones walking with you.

LOVE the waterfall and the scenic view points are great, especially the one at the top of the staircase. Easily a favorite and have visited many times.

A great day as we enjoyed the parks on our mobility scooters.

Nice walk, definitely not difficult outside of the climb up the bluffs it is flat for 80% of the trail. Pretty scenic walk along the river then on top along the bluffs; didn’t see many people which made it peaceful.

Nice trails for the ones we could get on. A lot of trails closed due to spring flooding. The Lilydale part of this ride was inaccessible due to trail closed so unable to get anywhere near the bluffs. Enough other areas to ride so still had a great ride.

This is a nice lake to walk around and it's located next to some very nice neighborhoods. It goes through a beautiful little park area and creek and has a ton of places to fish; however, there were a few parts of the trail that had little to no shade which would make it pretty rough in really hot weather, so make sure you put on some sunscreen. There was also a surprising amount of trash on some parts of the trail (we went in spring right after a long winter and they might still be catching up on getting the park ready). Overall, it's a nice paved trail and there is plenty to do at the park, I would definitely recommend Phalen Lake.

5.8 mile hike. Well maintained trails. Excellent waterfall.

Feels as if you’re in the middle of the woods!

Have hiked it in all seasons. Good place to train for an off road trail race. Lots of families near the nature center during the day, but the trail is pretty empty of people around sundown. Seen wild deer and turkeys.

Love this trail, it is beautiful and Family and pet Friendly

Really nice trail. Signs can be confusing for some of us! Different length loops in Park. Pretty consistently hilly compared to most Minneapolis trails, but not too difficult. Nice change!

You ride along Minnehaha Creek,it’s very pretty.

Easy trail. Trail is 100% paved now. Based on posted pics wasn't what I expected, but still enjoyed the walk. Also this is a in and back trail not a loop

Took the clockwise 6 mile route from the nature center with our 9 year old and our dog. The route had nice undulations with a couple of steeper ups and downs (with some loose gravel so we had to be careful going down). The falls were a real treat towards the end of the hike. The nature center area has a play area, picnic pavilion and bathrooms. .

Great park with a good amount of trails to walk. Lots of animals and things to see, nice spots for picnics. We saw wild turkeys, turtles, frogs, and butterflies. No dogs allowed :(
