Lovely quick hike if you’re looking for great views, a lovely payoff, and a solid workout. Worth carrying your snorkel gear if you have it. Trail is rocky and exposed so don’t forget your hat, sunscreen, and water!

The upper overlook is closed so only the main lookout is open. Paved wheelchair accessible trail. It was raining so lots of brown water. Beautiful waterfall I wouldn’t consider it a hike but rather a walk down a sidewalk.

Trail is smooth and beautiful. I wish only that it wasn’t go up in the beginning :) I think it is easy or at least moderate trail and defined not hard. Nice snorkeling there.

Everything is beautiful. Only downside is once you turn in from the beach, it’s all loose lava rock. There are turtles near the water. If you are looking at the beach, go a little more left (outside of the trail loop map) and you’ll find a nice beach area that people are hanging out around.

This is definitely worth visiting if you are in the Hilo area. It is really beautiful, and the short circular loop is well built / supported for people of any age. Read about the fish that climb up the falls - wild!!!
