Awesome trail! 2nd peak had the best view so if you’re in it for that you can stop there. 3rd was def worth doing though. Hardest part I felt was the rope going down at the beginning. If you’re good with that you’ll prob be ok the rest of the way. Pretty dry when I did it though so I imagine it would be a lot harder if it rained recently

Pretty dry, super dynamic trail! You do have to use the ropes and do some legit scrambling to summit the first peak but absolutely worth it! Happy trails friends!

Aloha! Fun hike! Can be muddy but you don’t need microspikes for this one. First and second peaks are about the same difficulty. Third peak gets more sketchy. At minimum please wear proper hiking footwear though. Bring plenty of water for this one. Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @mike.karas or my email mikekarasphotography@gmail.com for info or other questions. I’ve done most of the hikes on the island before. Also please pack out your trash! Too many litterbugs on the island sadly. Mahalo!

Awesome trail! The first .7 miles is a country club road. After that it’s a muddy hike through a jungle, and straight up to the peak. I stopped at the first of the three peaks. Incredible view, and fun, but you could definitely fall off the side if you’re not careful. The second and third peak looked beautiful but challenging.

This hike was epic! We did it last weekend right at 7am. Our watch showed longer than 4.4 miles round trip. This hike is definitely not for the faint of heart! It’s a challenge for SURE. The 2nd and 3rd peaks require rock climbing/rope scaling with literal vertical drops. Not for you if you’re scared of heights! Bring enough water and snacks. The views are insanely amazing!

HikingGreat!

One of my favourite trails ever. The first peak could be challenging for some (one part you need to climb some rocks but there’s a rope and I saw some people stopping there. To the second peak is beautiful as well. To the third peak is pretty sketchy. Such an adrenaline rush and so fun. I did the hike with locals who had done it before, but I probably wouldn’t have tried the 3rd peak on my own. It was fairly busy to the 1st peak, but there’s less people the further you go (to the 2nd or 3rd)

Rock climbingGreat!

This trail is truly a wonder! The views aren’t immaculate! 1. DO NOT PART IN THE COUNTRY CLUB. Park by the bus station. 2. Walk up through the country club for a few mins until you hit the trail head on the left. Can’t miss it. 3. The climb to the first summit is not that bad. I’d say be in good shape and trust yourself. 4. The trail to the second summit isn’t bad at all. More of a rock scramble. 5. Now the third peak. It’s freaking intense. Honestly didn’t expect how intense it would be. But don’t let that stop you. I read all the reviews and let them get into my head a little bit. If you have sturdy shoes with good grip, in good shape, then have the confidence to go conquer the third peak! Yes it was scary at times but once you get past that fear and reach the summit, you’ll laugh and want to do it all over again! You will to cuz you have to go back

Top 1 or 2 trail in O’ahu. Fantastic views starting half way to the first peak. It’s most difficult down from the 2nd peak going to 3rd peak.

Love Olomana just right in my backyard. Perfect day so many hikers never seen so many! We started at 8a and I couldn’t believe how many people. Go early difficult parking.

Pretty difficult. Have both arms free and hiking shoes. A lot of stair step climbing and then some straight up rock climbing. Conditions were good today, no mud. We went at 7am, which I recommend because traffic was very low.

Did all 3 peaks today (2/10/21). Some helpful tips from my experience. Obviously things change depending on rain, etc. - No mud! I brought spikes, but they were worthless. So until it rains again, don't worry about mud. - Took me 5 hours. 11:30am - 4:30pm. But that was all 3 peaks AND taking my time. Plenty of rest. You could do the 1st peak in a couple hours if you're in a hurry. - Verizon had strong 5G coverage the whole way. - Drank 2 liters of water. - People ain't joking. The 3rd peak is MUCH more dangerous and sketchy. But it's fun! I never felt in danger because there was always good handholds. BUT for much of the 3rd peak, if you fall you likely die. The ropes weren't terrible at the 3rd peak. The deteriorating ones had redundant ropes alongside. Still sketchy, though. - 3rd peak was the most fun if you enjoy a slight adrenaline rush and are comfortable scrambling. - 2nd peak was my favorite view. 1st peak was close behind. - 2nd peak is relatively quick to get to. 3rd peak is a significant jump in time. You'll see why once you see it from the 1st peak. - I didn't bring poles. And I saw nobody else with poles. They would've been nice until you reach the scrambling parts. Then they'd be a burden. - You only need sunscreen if you burn easily or plan on hanging out at the top. - I didn't need bug spray. - Today wasn't very hot. Even during middle of day. Tank top and shorts were fine. I do have minor scrapes from brush. But I wouldn't wear pants or long sleeves if I did it again. - Not much loose rock. So gaiters offered minimal benefit.

Muddy in the beginning of the trail but progressively better the higher you climb. There are multiple rock sections that you have to climb and just a few that are a bit more sketchy. Fortunately there are ropes that can help you along the way. Climbed with hiking boots and spikes which helped in the mud. Beautiful views at the top of the first peak. We only did the first as many of the reviews said the other two weren’t worth it due to dangerous climbing. We felt accomplished enough after the first!

HikingGreat!Muddy

Must do hike. Microspikes helped because it’s fairy muddy. Be aware that there’s a good amount of rock climbing / bouldering on this trail. You don’t need any prior rock climbing experience, but just be comfortable climbing over rocks. The first peak has wildly amazing views. Didn’t go beyond the first peak because we felt like we saw what we came for and heard reviews that the second and third peak ropes were not in great condition.

Caution: for anyone hiking to the third peak, the ropes going up there are in very poor condition. They are a ticking time bomb. One rope had numerous core shots (spindly inner rope showing), and another was not well anchored by a metal stake in the ground. Today these ropes did not break, but it is only a matter of time before UV radiation and general weathering and abrasion lead to failure of one of these ropes with someone on it. Due to the exposure inherent in the third peak, the result of a rope breakage would be serious. An expert needs to replace these ropes AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please do not mess with the fixed ropes unless you are an expert; a mistake anchoring the ropes could mean a climber’s life. Climbers: please use the handline ropes on the third peak only as back-ups. Loosely grasp them in one hand while you climb the rock rather than yanking on them with your full weight to get to the top. The fixed ropes going to the first two peaks were “acceptable” for now, but major core-shot areas that were bypassed by a knot existed. These should be next in line to be replaced.

Really cool hike with a bunch of climbing, even just to the first summit! It was raining when we did it, so it was extremely challenging even to get to the first peak. I would say in rainy conditions it was one of the most difficult hikes I’ve ever done and it took us (fairly experienced hikers) 5 hours plus round trip.
